My experience at Bar One sad to say I had a very bad experience with the food and the restroom ridiculous 1). The chicken was not done I had to send it back. 2). the oxtails was too salty 3). the bathroom was so nasty and disgusting. 4). Nice music nice vibe I don't think I will go again. I think it's too overrated they have very high prices for the food it wouldn't be so bad if it was good and they gave you more than a toddlers portion. oxtails for $45 you only getting what five bones it's not worth it to me on top of that I saw the Owner and he's very arrogant he act like he really didn't want to speak he spoke in such a low tone and hurry up and turn away he just got out of a cab, so not worth the money that's my opinion

Not sure where to even start with this place, let me describe the facts: Premium location, by the water. Parking cost $20 to park Popular menu items not available, such as the wings, lamb chops, and other favorites. Food was disappointing at best, lobster bisque tasted out of a can, the oxtail was good, however, the dumplings were hard and not edible, the best dish was the salmon bites. Calamari simply tasted processed and frozen, just missing the quality of ingredients I would expect for the location. It took 3 tries for my husbands old fashion to be done correctly. It's a maybe for me...

Nice clean restaurant and friendly staff. The drinks were good and strong. The food was good however they were out of chicken on the evening we went(Wednesday) and were out of a certain cut of steak.....oh they were also out of take home bags and from what our server told us they were asked to bring their own plastic bags from home to give to customers(because we rcvd one). My only complaint would be the availability of items, seems like someone messed up on the inventory. I'd still recommend this restaurant.

I would never in life dine here again. True Island or even Jamaican people would feel disrespected if they put that curry chicken or oxtail in their mouth. Even the drink were not on point. The strawberry lemonade was super sour... too much lemon. Aside from the food I also wouldn't return because my husband and I felt scammed. The waiter was the only one working along side the bus boy and the hostess. When it was time for us to check out, she did not bring out the check. She just showed it to us on her device. When I asked she said she could print it out after. Then, when i proceeded to asked if tip was included, she stated it was for the bus boy and hostess and that hers was not included so I tipped again. She never told me that there was a standard service charge. Upon checking the site it stated 4 or more people there will be a service charge (which they stated they have changed that policy to all parties are charged a 20% service fee) the website was not updated when I checked. I didn't like be lied to. We are supposed to support and uplift black business. Unfortunately, they act as if they can have the riches and glory so they self Sabotage. I did message management after it did not sit well with me and part of my payment as returned (hence the 2 rating instead of 1). I caution you to retrieve and itemized bill before payment and don't get caught slipping... and yes the total was 162 for 2 people. 2 meals, 1 acholic drink, appetizer and 1 drink removed.... wild!

Attended Bar One during their brunch and enjoyed the ambiance & service. I’d recommend making reservations & using the $20 valet parking for a smoother experience. Overall, food lacked the flavor/taste I was expecting but the cocktail menu had nice variety. Looking forward to trying the Dinner menu & sitting inside next time…. No, Peter/Patricia wasn’t there for Brunch :(

I came to Bar One for a celebration dinner. I had a few options in mind but ultimately landed on this one because of location and ownership. Pros -Black-owned: I love supporting black owned businesses. If I’m gonna spend hella money, might as well circulate it in the community. -Waterfront: The restaurant is in a prime location; right on the water. It’s so nice. -Nice ambiance: From the decor to the r&b music, it was such a vibe! -Drinks: Drinks were good! -Portions: Food portions are very large Cons - Service: the service was pretty lackluster. We went on a Tuesday; so there weren’t many people there. Yet, we found ourselves waiting to get drink orders and dinner orders (there was only 2 of us). - Food: I didn’t get to really enjoy my food because by the time we got our silverware, my meal was lukewarm. But from what I could tell, here is my take: the lamb chops were flavorful. Sweet plantains and Mac &cheese were good (I wouldn’t say that’s Bahamian m&c but whatever). The crispy snapper needed more flavor. The rice and peas were over cooked. The truffle fries were good but too soft. Again, we had to wait about 6 minutes for silverware. We sat on the patio and there was a good amount of wind. Maybe the food is better right off the stove. Also, sides are not included with the entree. The only other thing I was kinda “ehh” about is that our appetizer came out with the meal. This place has potential but has some things to work on.

Best spot on the beach hands down. Peter really showed out with this location. Everything one could ask for. Great service, great music, outdoor was dope, inside was well decorated and clean. But most importantly the food was smack your momma good. And a huge special shout out to James the manager of the location. Top notch service. 👌

My sister came to visit me in Miami so you know we had to hit up Bar One. The last time I came to the restaurant I tried the oxtails which were FIRE! They were “fall off the bone” good, with all the taste of the Caribbean that you need 😋. This time I came for brunch so I had the chicken and waffles and my sister had the steak and eggs. When I tell y’all the fried chicken will taste like ya mama made it?! And the STEAK! I asked for the steak to be made the way the chef prefers. Y’all. So tender. So much flavor with eggs cooked to perfection and such flavorful roasted potatoes. Long story short, I’ll see y’all at Bar One.

I came for Happy Hour 4-7 Mon-Thu the prices are really good $10 for apps $15 for the mac n cheese. The prices are higher for dinner gratuity is added and that's all posted on the menu so no sticker shock. I'll come back for dinner one day. If you're gonna spend top dollar on the beach that will be a huge waste! I SUPPORT THIS BLACK OWNED BUSINESS!

You pay for the ambience more then anything else. Great if you can reserve outside and they had an awesome wine/champagne special for $35. Wife and I had 2 and we were feeling happy. The food was overpriced for the quality I think so expect to pay for the ambience/location. We had the Caribbean jerk chicken, very spicy but pretty good, just not worth the price if I were sitting inside.

If you're going to experience, then it's very nice. Good drinks and the food was ok. As a person who does not eat chicken, I would just note that the salmon bites were fried in the same chicken grease. 3 of the items we requested were not available for dinner.

Celebrated a birthday here and although several of the items we wanted to try were not on the menu, the food we did order was absolutely delicious. We had the branzino, Mac and cheese, wings and rum cake for dessert. The service was great and drinks were good as well. On Saturdays they have a $20 cover charge and valet is $30.

The website had hummus with tostones and vegan mac n cheese, but when we arrived I was advised that was no longer on the menu. There were no vegan options at all except for rice and fries which doesn't make a meal. My family ordered Chicken Curry and Oxtails. The was good and oxtails too sweet. They were out of champagne, a cocktail and several menu items on the menu, however service was still great and the atmosphere was pleasant. They have indoor/outdoor seating right on the water and valet parking available. Be ready to spend as it's an expensive restaurant.

The food and service was outstanding! The outside “Peter’s Patio” gave just the right night vibe near the water. The music was perfect, drinks were yummy and our server was so professional and gave great recommendations. The calamari was perfectly seasoned and fried. The accompanying marinade tasted so fresh. The jerk red snapper fillet was decadent. Surf and Turf was out of this world and enough for 2 meals literally! Be prepared to spend a few dollars but if you’d spend it at Morton’s for a good meal than spend it at Bar One as well because the quality is worth it.

My review is definitely for someone that plans to go earlier in the day as maybe the nighttime may be a different vibe that I’m unaware of but I went here for a midday brunch. I felt for the price that we paid we could’ve been offered a better service. We only saw our server once after she took our order, and she wasn’t even the same person that brought us the check at the end. Pros: We were sitting near the water so that was a plus Con: I feel the food quality for the price definitely did not match.

The atmosphere and ambiance was nice. The DJ rocked the spot. The food debatable. Choices included protein and starch or protein and vegetables but no combination of all which required you to order additional items to make complete meal. Bartender needs a remedial course in mixology. The prices were high considering you still needed to order sides. Restaurant does not allow for split check and 18% service charge of which none of it goes to server. In addition, dress code was advertised as Miami Chic and many looked as if they had just rolled off the streets.

Atmosphere was amazing. View was nice. Food wasn't all that! Rice was hard. Drinks were ok. Staff was friendly and nice. Expensive place. Been here twice, I don't have to go a third time. Clean environment

Won't show pictures. Let's just say Bar One has declined. The food is the best part. Prepared well. Good flavors. Decent views on the Patio. Time for the owner to put back if possible. Looks as if they are just hanging on. I would come back if the food doesn't decline. Not so bad that I wouldn't come to try other dishes!

Visited Miami for the first time and had to visit Bar One. First, we had a 8:30 reservation. We arrive, let the hostess know we are here for our 8:30 check-in, and we are greeted with “Oh you trying to sit outside? It’s gone be a minute, but y’all can sit at the bar!” Chile, from 8:30pm to about 9:15 we sat at the bar and then around 9pm decided to at least order a drink. Finally at 9:15 we get a table. The bartender was nice, but I had to ask them to provide us a complimentary drink for having us wait so long! The ONLY reason I’m giving this place a three was because of the food. Will I be going back? Not unless they fix the crazy wait time. You would think more attention would be put on designing this space with LOTS of patio space SMH! It’s on the water so who wants to sit indoors anyway! Now, to the food: Salmon Bites 5/10 Jerk Wings 🔥 9/10 but be warned it’s SUPER SPICY. You’ll need a a pitcher of milk! *forgot to take photo Seared Salmon with Spinach (substitute) 7/10 it was a little mushy Oxtail Dinner Plate 7/10

No complaints. The customer service was great. The food was tasty and well seasoned ( yes Jamaican food). I enjoyed it and I will return with more people. Peter continue to represent your culture through your food and hospitality.

Bar One was DELICIOUS! I think out of all the places my friends and I ate, Bar One was our favorite. You sit right on the water. The food was TASTY and authentic to my Jamaican culture. The service was a little slow but the food definitely made up for it! I’ll be back.

Nice ambiance. Beautiful scenery. Went for lunch. Waitress we had only there for 1 month and it showed. She needs more training. Food was good, but pricey. I had the steak and eggs. Wifey, aka birthday girl, had the shrimp and grits. Would definitely go back. Got to meet Pete, the owner! Very gracious with his time.

This a place for anyone that wants to experience a trendy place. It's expensive and the food is OK. They have so many fees and the parking is terrible ..nonexistent. $20 valet at the condo place next door. I like the outside that allows smoking cigars and hookah. I enjoyed the experience but never have to go back. I went on a Sunday brunch at noon. They don't split checks. Read ALL the rules!

This was my first time going, we were seated outside were most tables were spread out nicely. We were Celebrating my sister's birthday, they allow us to bring a cake, (there's a surcharge but I would expect that). Everything was delicious from the cocktails to appetizers to our entrees. We definitely enjoyed the ambience of the place and the music was good, real good. We met the Chef! I'm glad we arrived early, as the late night diners definitely are more lively patrons. Thank you Bar One staff!
