One
of
the
interesting
things
to
see
at
the
Rijksmuseum
is
a
gated
garden
area
(free
admission),
located
in
the
front
of
the
museum,
just
to
the
right
of
the
Iamsterdam
Letters.
The
garden
is
open
daily
from
9am
to
6pm.
This
is
a
nice
outdoor
area
and
a
good
place
to
grab
a
seat
and
rest
your
feet
after
beating
the
floors
of
the
Rijksmuseum.
During
my
recent
mid-October
visit,
I
found
the
beds
to
have
plenty
of
attractive
plants
and
flowers
to
see.
There
are
sculptures
and
busts
embedded
into
a
row
of
hedges,
a
small
artificial
pond
and
small
greenhouse
that
you
can
peer
into.
There
is
a
playful
fountain
called
'Hide
and
Seek'
with
centre
standing
room
encompassed
by
water
spouts
which
form
a
circular
fountain.
It
was
enjoyable
watching
children
enter
the
circle,
awaiting
the
water
bursts
to
begin,
forming
a
temporary
wall
of
water
around
them.
This
is
a
fun
activity
for
children
and
something
enjoyable
to
see
as
a
curious
bystander.
The
Rijksmuseum
Garden
is
a
surprisingly
tranquil
place
in
the
bustling
museum
square.
There
is
no
cost
to
enter
so
you
can
enjoy
even
if
you
don't
intend
to
spend
time
inside
the
main
museum
building
viewing
the
artworks.
