Not exactly sure how they managed to pull it off but this one location doesn't even have room service. The location is good but for an Autograph hotel you'd expect them to be able to cover the basics. You can call the restaurant but they'll tell you to come down and get it. They'll charge you $50/night for parking though. Place is a let down. Hitting my lifetime platinum of 600 rooms and don't recommend the place.

*edit* Pete the bar-tender adds 2 stars to the Emery's rating. Despite my concerns which still hold -- you need to hire people if you can't cover monday dinners -- however if you go to the bar - ask for Pete that guy is a pure professional. Remembers his customers. Makes you feel at home and not an anonymous traveller. I would suggest Pete needs a raise. Follows: my original review (which was 1 star): They don't believe that their guests will need dinner or perhaps want a glass of wine for their room - on Monday nights. Yep bar and restaurant are closed Monday. How is that possible? I've stayed at holiday inns that have food and drinks on a Monday. Surely the Emery can do better. Closest food is like 5 blocks away. And yes that's outdoor walking. Don't ask me what was on my sheets when I checked in. Plus side, rooms are nicely appointed. Location is good if you need to be downtown. Make sure they actually changed the sheets on your bed tho

The hotel is very beautiful with marble columns and amazing marble ceilings in the lobby, nice lobby bar with really a great old fashioned. I usually don't leave hotel reviews, but the service surprised me. I travel for work and sometimes lose something. They found one of my personal items and brought it to my room as opposed to throwing it in lost and found, or simply having it disappear forever as I have usually experienced.

Rooms are tiny, but that’s all you need. I guess you pay for the convenience of being in downtown Minneapolis. It’s been over two years since we’ve been to downtown Minneapolis. They charge $50 a day for valet parking. They could charge $100 if they wanted. They got you. The lobby is grand and beautiful. Smells amazing. The location is pretty good and quiet. Very clean and we felt safe Single ply toilet paper, beds are low to the ground and uncomfortable after 5-6 hours. I used the app and requested 2 extra pillows and a blanket and revived nothing. Very clean and the staff was excellent. I’d definitely come back

A beautiful hotel that sucks. In all my years of traveling, I’ve never seen the front desk unattended for 15 minutes. In that time, the restaurant closed (despite advertising that they’re open until an hour from now). Stay at the Rand instead. Or anywhere where they’ll welcome guests.

Spent three nights at the Emery to catch the Vikings season opener. The Emery is so close to the light rail station, US Bank Stadium, restaurants and the Mississippi River walk. The staff were friendly and the room was nice. I especially like how responsive, yet silent, the AC was and loved the huge shower. Thank you for the excellent stay.

Honestly, this hotel would have been perfect if I would have had a better experience with rescheduling my stay. I travel for business often and because of the nature of my traveling I often have to stay an additional night or leave a night early, I am always changing my reservation and have historically not had a problem until staying at the Emery Autograph. My trip this time was for pleasure on a busy weekend and when I checked in I let them know I would be staying a night less than I had reserved due to some changed travel plans. They informed me that they would charge me for the last night anyway even though I let them the minute I got there to check in. Their policy is '24 hours prior to arrival regardless of time staying (or unless otherwise authorized),' which is a bit of a racket to me. I have stayed at dozens of hotels, gave reasonable notice, and never had a problem. When speaking to the manager, he basically said my night rate was going to keep the lights on in the place and I had to laugh, 'if he did it for everyone that asked they'd be out a couple thousand dollars a night,' WOW, VERY NOBLE. I think they missed the slide in the deck of customer service training where a happy customer is a returning customer. Anyhow, guess I will have to find a different place to stay for my season tickets to the Vikings! Along with my long winded issues, check in staff was not that helpful, they didn't tell us where anything was, valet is an absolute nightmare, I think they only have like 2 people working it at any given time so it's like 20 minutes minimum to get your car. There was one guy who was very pleasant, he was the bellhop and he seemed like he genuinely enjoyed helping us. Anyhow, word of caution if you have ever changing travel plans or enjoy any ounce of customer satisfaction don't stay here. If you have solid plans and are indifferent on customer service, it's a very beautiful hotel!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Emery Autograph Collection in Minneapolis during a business trip, and I must say it was a unique and memorable experience. First and foremost, the hotel's historic building lent an air of timeless elegance to my stay. Upon entering the lobby, I was immediately greeted by a unique and captivating scent that seemed to permeate the air. It's a delightful touch that sets Emery apart from other hotels in town, creating a truly immersive atmosphere. One of the standout features of the Emery is Spyglass Coffee, conveniently embedded right in the lobby. As a businessman constantly on the move, having a quality coffee shop just steps away from my room was a game-changer. It allowed me to grab a quick caffeine fix before heading out for meetings. Now, let's talk about the elevators. They did take a bit longer than I expected, but considering the hotel isn't very tall, it wasn't a major inconvenience. I used the extra wait time to appreciate the historic charm of the building, and it was worth it. My room at Emery was nothing short of impressive. It was spacious, well-appointed, and equipped with modern amenities that catered perfectly to my needs. After a long day of meetings, sinking into the comfortable bed and enjoying the city view from my window was a much-needed respite. In conclusion, the Emery Autograph Collection in Minneapolis exceeded my expectations. From the unique lobby scent to the historic setting, the convenience of Spyglass Coffee, and the excellent room amenities, it provided a comfortable and memorable stay for a busy businessman like myself. I would certainly choose to stay here again on my next trip to Minneapolis.

I spent 6 nights at this hotel and was particularly impressed by its stunning lobby floor. The lobby offers numerous comfortable seating areas, perfect for both work and relaxation. The excellent coffee shop adds to the experience, providing delicious food options. Moreover, the lobby hosts a high-standard restaurant and bar. The rooms are not only spacious and cozy but also thoughtfully equipped with an abundance of electrical plugs for convenience. The hotel staff in the lobby is exceptionally friendly and always willing to assist. However, a couple of minor issues need attention. Firstly, the room lighting is insufficient. Secondly, there's a recurring problem with the "please rest" sign on the door that always falls. Despite these small drawbacks, my overall experience rates this hotel as a solid 5-star stay. I highly recommend it.

The lobby and first floor are amazing with the marble columns, floors, and even ceilings. Our room was on the small side but tasteful. Our only problem was with a too noisy hvac system (coming on and off). We turned it off completely

This is a fantastic hotel in an incredible and storied building with great furnishings and restaurants! Giulia is fantastic and SpyHouse is as well! The staff are always incredible friendly and helpful, and this is my main hotel I use for business travel up to MSP. It’s always super clean and the rooms are relatively small but have incredible use of space. The only drawback is the TV system doesn’t have capability for Netflix / Hulu or anything like that similar to other Marriott hotels, so I hope they improve that. Otherwise, fantastic hotel and I totally recommend!

The rooms themselves are fine. It's nice that they do regular room cleaning at a time when most hotels are only doing it upon request. The valet parking is a disaster. No car retrievals between 10pm and 6am, even in the case of an emergency. Car pickups between 6am and 9am take a long time - I waited over an hour for pickup this morning.

This was my second time staying at marriott autograph property and it was a 4-star experience overall. Upon arrival, the front desk team's greeting was top notch. I was a bit disappointed at the lack of effort that the staff checking me showed to try to accommodate for a Platinum Elite member upgrade. Room: I really like their contemporary architecture design and layout. I think they could have done a better job with cabinet space as it was *way too* small. The standard king bed study room is pretty small, too. Bathroom: Compared to the room, their bathroom was both nicely designed and relatively spacious in comparison to the guest room. Parking: I did their offsite parking and the MSP skyway made it pretty easy to get in and out of the garage and back to the hotel. Unfortunately on the weekends, skywalk is closed and you have to use the outdoor main entrance of the building of the parking garage. Other than that, I liked their parking system overall. Recycling: This was another disappointment. A hotel of this size should be more environmentally conscious and provide recycling service. Overall: Emery is a nice property if you want to stay in downtown MSP and want the option to be carless or have a car with you.

So beautiful and elegant! My jaw dropped when I first walked in to the lobby. So many plants and such a calm and open energy. Absolutely lovely! The hotel room is way more impressive in person then on the website. So many delightfully perfect surprises like great shower pressure and plenty of hangers and gorgeous view. Plus a top notch coffee house and bar right on the first floor. So grateful I matched with Emery through Hotwire. In the future I plan to reserve directly. Truly impressed. This is the exact oasis I need to balance my self-care time with my time out and about. Thank you so much to all the people that make the Emery absolutely outstanding!

We had an incredible stay at the Emery this weekend. As we approached the hotel, it had begun to drizzle and the streets of downtown seemed to be abandoned. (We later realized this was because of the extensive skyway system connecting everything in downtown — no one needs to step outside!). We pulled into the valet circle and as we stepped into the entry of the hotel, we saw the jaw-dropping lobby of the hotel for the first time. Incorporating the outdoors to the indoors, the hotel’s lobby, filled with tall marble columns from the 1906 constructed original bank that occupied the space. The rich jewel tones in velvet and woods and marble are posh and cozy. The space was vibrant with small groups enjoying a cocktail or coffee. These same rich finishes continued in the other public spaces and our beautiful suite. The Italian restaurants hand made pastas were so delicious, we came back for brunch and loved the breakfast pizza, lobster Benedette and an array of pastries. Every service encounter was attentive and lovely. Our new favorite hotel and restaurant. Also huge bonus: the gym is three times the size of most hotel gyms with equipment of every type and sparkling clean. The only change I'd make would be flat-bottomed water cups for guests that don't have their own water bottle along with them.

We love this hotel but on our most recent stay, the bed had a big dip in the middle and my wife couldn't sleep. The mattress clearly needed to be replaced but we didn't notice until around midnight when we got back to the room. Other than this I highly recommend the property. The restaurants is awesome, as is the coffee shop and lounge. PS I would have kept this feedback to the Marriott contact form, but the hotel name doesn't show up in the options.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Emery. We liked the bar, restaurant, lobby and coffee shop. Our room was very comfortable. The bartenders were really nice as were the all the staff. We’d come here again.

The Emery is a lovely hotel housed in an old bank building and even has a vault in the lobby. The Emery boast a cozy lobby with plenty of greenery and an inviting fireplace. Spy house coffee is on site as well as a restaurant. We did not go to the restaurant, but the coffee shop was our morning staple. I wish they had a few more selections for breakfast and lunch foods, but we made due. The room was on the smaller side, but well-appointed. The shower was great and I even used the toiletries supplied by the hotel (I.e. Biology shampoo, conditioner, and body wash) which I normally don’t do. It was an easy walk to the stadium, even with the below 0 temps. The service was great and we really enjoyed our stay.

We had our wedding block here and we could not have asked for a better experience. Our guests were raving about the service, food, drinks and hotel. Dale and his team went above and beyond. We'll definitely be back and would recommend this hotel for business/vacation/wedding/etc.

The hotel was in a good location and had a very nice lobby and bar area. But the rooms were tiny, dark, and surprisingly dirty. There was heavy dust on baseboards, vents, and almost all flat surfaces. The window was so dirty you could barely see through it. No one serviced the room even though the hotel was apparently providing housekeeping again.

Very beautiful and spacious rooms. Only hang up was experience at front desk. Upon arrival was told no rooms were yet available. After asking if I could be contacted once one became available, was told there is “no way” for them to know when rooms may be ready and to just try back later. First tike I’ve had such a response, especially as a Marriott Bonvoy member. Great hotel though. Spyhouse coffee in the lobby is fantastic.

Luxury hotel that’s part of the Autograph Collection. Stayed here with a couple of other friends for a wedding and it was a good location as it’s in downtown Minneapolis. We got free breakfast vouchers (available for Platinum Marriott members) that are redeemable from the coffee shop in the lobby (choice of two drinks, two pastries, yogurt, and fruit). The front desk was helpful in sending us hot water when requested. There is a gym with cardio machines and free weights. They have a lot of places where you can lounge. Valet parking available. They have ironing boards available.

Great service hotel. They upgraded me to studio suite. But it has only one window and living space was rather dark. So hope I can stay in a different room with more window spaces next time. Nonetheless overall experiences were very positive.

The studio rooms are large, comfortable, and not your standard box room (do not stay here if you cannot handle stuff not on a 90° angle). Outside of the building is very drab and I was concerned at first that my ride did not drop me off at the right location. The hallways are very noir with low lighting, black doors, and dark carpet which is in stark contrast to the rooms. Front desk staff were excellent and the restaurant bar staff & manager were top notch professionals. The food was delicious and the bartender was spot on with a cocktail recommendation. Do not forget to check out the coffee shop on the first floor. Top notch treats (the rhubarb tart is a must) and delicious drinks served by counter staff who were excellent. It was tough to get a ride share service to come down to the city center on the weekend due to that area being an urban desert since everything else is closed) so take that into account for plans.

The good: - Hotel lobby is lovely, they did a beautiful job designing a space that feels contemporary while maintaining the historical architecture of the building. They even kept the original bank vault and incorporated it into the design, an unexpected surprise while waiting in line for coffee. - Spyhouse Coffee is located centrally off of the lobby, they have some of the best coffee in the metro and the staff is always kind, the food is excellent and the service is impeccable. - The hotel location is in a great spot for easy access to main event venues and other downtown landmarks. The not so good: - With the exception of one lovely woman at the front desk, we found all of the staff at the hotel to be surly, rude, unhelpful and misinformed. We had encounters with four staff in total and three of them shared the qualities noted, really sets a terrible tone for the guests and prompted a conversation between us on if we would ever come back. - Another note on the staff, perhaps it is a top down issue as we had an interaction with a manager who was hosting a beer tasting. After asking what brought us to the hotel (an evening away from the kids and a comedy show), he suggested that we should instead "send our kids away and stay at home" and that he thought the comedy show headline we were seeing "sucked" and that we should "heckle them the entire time". Again, setting a really terrible tone, especially when this interaction occurred in the first five minutes of our arrival. - The rooms are dark, quite frankly the entire hotel is dark. But both my husband and I commented on how dark the room was, even when we had all of the lights on. - The layout in the room we had, placed the television directly on one side of the bed. It was mounted on an arm that allowed you to pivot it, but ultimately the screen was only a few feet from your face. - The staff at the bar had a similar attitude to the front desk staff. The treated the few patrons at the bar with indifference and despite there being only a few people, the service was incredibly slow. - We ordered a simple pizza to share while having a drink and it was forgettable (at best). The bottom was blackened/burned and it was very clear that the wood oven was overdue for a cleaning. It was also covered in cornmeal, again an indication that a cleaning is in order. There are lots of choices for upscale hotels in Minneapolis, this is a tight market and first impressions are incredibly important. Unfortunately for us, this impression wasn't a good one.
