Took my watch here to see if they could replace the battery for me. Tag wanted £80 which is just ridiculous. I took it here and was charged £8. They also have a lovely selection of silver jewellery, I wanted it all! The lady serving was also really friendly and helpful.

I needed a battery changed in a Fossil watch. I found this shop quite by accident, despite being almost closing time the lady replaced my battery and also put the watch onto a machine that pressurised it, making it waterproof. Unfortunately, the watch stopped later that day, Today I had the opportunity to pop back and have a word. As soon as I walked in the lady recognised me and remembered I had been in with my watch. I told her the issue and without even asking for my receipt, she replaced the battery again. She told me if it stops again to return and she has a man in a workshop that can sort it out for me. I do not know ladies name, she has red hair and is an absolute star. She will now be my goto place in the future, she is friendly and helpful and had time for general chit chat. I value that in a local store and for that reason we must support them. I hope I have more luck with my watch this time but regardless of that, I cannot praise her enough.

I took my Cartier watch in to get a new battery over the weekend and was blown away by the service. Super professional, very reasonably priced, fast turnaround and a friendly service. Would absolutely recommend this jewellers to anyone. I will definitely be returning.

Fantastic little shop that offers so much. I like to use local businesses and found Gumus searching online to get a new clasp on a necklace. Staff are really helpful and service is excellent. Apart from repairs and alterations they have a fantastic range of jewellery to buy Would encourage anyone to give them a try, you'll find them next to Boots!

Kaya and her colleagues at Gumus did an excellent job in modifying a bangle bracelet. The works involved removing two beads to shorten the bangle bracelet and then using the extra two beads to make suspension earrings. Kaya was factual in pointing out that the beads were agate but not jade as the original vendor claimed. The original elastic string was also found to be not strong enough. Finally, she suggested that they would put a spacer to make up for the lost circumference due to removing two beads. Kaya was also very fair to agree that we had to divide the modification into two phases:- shortening and then earrings. If the removal of two beads had made the bangle bracelet too tight, they would have charged extra because that was the customer's instruction. However, if the removal of two beads proved to be too loose, they would have refitted everything for free. After the modification, the fit was perfect. After the bangle bracelet shortening, they made use of the two extra beads to make a pair of suspension pendulum silver earrings. They appeared to be meticulous on the dot. Overall, the price, the whole process and the final products were spotless. The most important point is to ensure that there is no urgency and pressure. Highly recommended.

Went in to replace a watch battery and I was very impressed with the service. Not only was the watch battery replaced, the owner also polished and cleaned my watch. They also tested the watch's waterproofing and provided a thorough explanation.

Hilda is a true professional and a lovely person , she took a look at my opal stone which had fallen out and bent diamond 9 carat gold ring and gave me hope that she can make it perfect , and true to her word she has and at a very reasonable cost too. Today it's been over a year now and I'm wearing my ring and sending all my love and blessings to Hilda for making me so happy.Thank you Hilda.

Gumus is an absolutely fantastic example of what a modern day jewellery shop should be. Popped into the store for a quick inquiry in regards to getting my ring resized fast forward a few weeks and upon collection I even discovered that they had polished it for me as part of the service (which wasn't even discussed). Hilda is an astounding jeweller, your pieces could not be in safer hands.

Very poor customer service. I trusted the lady who works here , Hilda, with my grandmas ring that needed fixing and she has had it for over 5 weeks now and I’m still yet to get even a quote. I’ve called twice in that time for updates as Hilda failed to contact me when she said she would. I have no trust in this service and have been spoken to very rudely. I’ve even been asked not to contact the shop anymore despite them still having my ring ! I will not be returning nor recommending to anyone.

Yet another fantastic experience at gumus jewellery shop. My engagement ring I took to four very well established jewelers as I had lost a diamond. Due to the style of the diamonds they all told me that they would have to replace all the diamonds which I seriously couldn't afford. I took the ring to gumus and a most wonderful lady Hilda gave me far more professional service and was able to advise me with cost repair time etc. My husband has just popped into to repair a watch strap and clearly the service Hilda provided is always second to none. Absolutely terrible service. Took my watch in to get the battery replaced. The lady serving pressed too hard on the press, causing the front casing to pop off (verified by a secondary watch specialist) and accepts no responsibility. She then blamed the watch, calling it cheap and saying that she sells far more expensive ones in her shop. A lovely £120 repair bill for me.

Had my PLATINUM ring extended here. They called me mid fixing saying they needed to use more platinum and needed extta charge. Only just found out that THEY USED SILVER and had the cheek to charge me even more for conning me. Absolutely disgusting business. DO NOT TRUST THEM
