Ignore the main road, go into this alley and enjoy genuine Moroccan food. The host is very friendly and his wife cooks delicious food. I travel frequently and this is genuine. The honey they serve with breakfast is the best I ever had. The food is very cheap but amazing. Eat outside in the alley Mr inside in what feels like a living room.

Hidden gem which is run by a lovely husband and wife. The food was fantastic and extremely well priced. Quick service and a comfortable seating area. The menus are not in English however this was not a problem and the owner was gracious enough to help me order. It is a bit tucked away behind the larger more tourist focused restaurants. I'm glad I put in the little bit of extra effort to find it. They have signs with the menu along the path to them so follow these and you'll find them easily enough. I would highly recommend going here. You won't regret it!

Loved it! An authentic experience off the beaten track. Super affordable and lots of food provided. Only 25dh for a complete breakfast (served all day long). The owner was super nice. 100% recommend for anyone in Essaouira. Just follow the signs and you'll find it easily

Unique small family restaurant with fantastic food and great service. We went there a couple of times to eat during our stay in the city. I can say that it was the best food we had in all Morocco. The prices are small but the taste and quality of food is insane. Definitely check it out if you are there. It will not disappoint you.

Really, as the name suggests, it's a typical place, and if you're looking for real Moroccan cuisine in Essaouira, this is the perfect place to be. Everything is so good and scrumptious, that we had breakfast, lunch and dinner for my two days in this beautiful city. It's one of the places I've missed in Essaouira ❤️. Go there, I recommend it 10000000%.

One of the best dinners I've ever had in my life! We found this tiny hidden restaurant in Essaouira with the help of a local and it's a real gem! Best tagine and lentil/bean dishes! The owner was open for changes (we could ask for vegetarian options even though they were not in the menu), and he even opened earier the morning after so that we can have breakfast before we leave. A truly kind man, tasty food, amazing moroccan coffee, incredibly good price and a unique experience. Also, as it's not located on the main streets (still close them), it was super quiet and calm; we basically had the whole restaurant for us. :) Highly highly recommended!

Highly recommend. Great food. Feels like being invited into a local's home. We went twice! We went on our first evening in Essaouira, they didn't have fish tagine so we had sardine balls and we preordered fish tagine for the following evening. I would recommend doing the same so you get to try the fish tagine. The appetisers (zaalouk and taktouka) are also delicious!

Not a 3 Star Michelin Restaurant but exactly what you are looking for in Essaouira. Small, cozy and traditional. The Tagines were amazing and the owner who served us was very very nice. We loved it and went there two times.

We were two for lunch. We had 3 differents appetizers and tajine; beef and vegetables. Everything was fresh and very tasty. It us a small restaurant with only a few tables and located in a small street from the Medina, close to the grand place. The man who served us was very nice. It is not a great restaurant with great service or very diverse menu however it is great food at an excellent price, probably 25% to 40% less than similar places in the old city. 3 appetizers and two tagines for less than 15 euros. This is why I am ranking it a 5. I will go back for sure.

As a moroccan , i can say this is one of the few restaurants serving food close to our grandma's recipe , it's homemade made with love , si zakaria was so kind with us and with a great hospitality spirit, i highly recommand it !!

Excellent home made feel food. We had the couscous (available on friday) with caramelized onions and raisins as a topping and it was delicious!! We also had the harira soup and the lentils and it was also super good. The owners are super friendly and the restaurant is very cosy. Affordable prices!! Please visit them you won't be dissapointed!

Lovely food and great service. We had soup and Tajine and was really tasty. It's really an hidden gem in a tunnel so don't be scared.
