I’ve stayed 3 times. Rooms in various formats, plentiful free parking, facilities, restaurant, pool, hot tub, workout room, bar, buffet hot breakfast with room and all the basics a good hotel can offer. Rooms and facilities function vary in quality but that happens. There’s a nice view from restaurant to the mountain. Service staff can range from absolutely indifferent (so if you have a problem- too bad) to over the top super crazy disrespectful to the point of bizarre rude (a waitress). There are Tesla charging stations as well and location is great. Waitress went bizarre mean when I asked to sit next to the fireplace in the nearly empty breakfast dining room; she was arguing about it for a long time and then started complaining to the table that was also sitting next to the fireplace about us so we could hear her complaining. That table was weirded out as well.

The hotel is conveniently located off the I-5 and I had a great stay while passing thru. The hotel is standard for the area, is very well maintained and super clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the staff was very friendly and offered an upgrade. I loved staring at the view of Mount Shasta as we relaxed for the night. There are plenty of restaurants and stores within walking distance if you don’t want to eat at the on-site restaurant. Would stay here again when in he area.

This was by far the best hotel in the area we stayed at. When we arrived they had a dining room opened that served dinner and you can get a drink at the bar. But the next morning they had no workers to serve breakfast. So you would have to go to Black Bear diner which was across the street or down the road. The rooms were very clean. I had the best night sleep ever.

Was so looking forward to staying at this hotel, but it’s been a nightmare. We booked an accessible, Mountain View balcony room and received a view of the laundry room/pool rooftop. The photos online depict a ground level patio with chairs and a clear view of the mountain. See photo for what we’ve got! When we let the hotel staff know, they said there was nothing they can do but have the manager call me the following week. They “didn’t have an accessible Mountain View room” and we “got a really good deal because the rooms are normally $350 per night” (we booked the military rate. Way to thank your veterans). Additionally, one of the employees stated that we “booked an accessible room and that’s for people in wheelchairs”, essentially saying that we booked a room we weren’t supposed to, when, yes, he is disabled and needs the additional features the rooms come with! I also called customer service who opened a ticket and ensured me the manager would be contacting me within a week. It’s now two weeks later, the manager closed the ticket without ever contacting us. The rooms are old, the beds are meh, the hotel is overpriced, you have to park in the back, walk up three sets of stairs or a very long, windy and steep ramp, get inside with your luggage and then take an elevator. If you are using a wheelchair, or have a lot of luggage to haul in the cart, the ramp is going to be an intense challenge. The staff isn’t nice, the manager is clearly absent. If you have any problems here, it’s not going to be resolved. Think twice before staying!

I have stayed here numerous times and I usually enjoy my stay and highly recommend it to others. However, as the rate has increased I have also noticed that cleanliness has decreased. The room looked clean but upon closer inspection dirt was visible, especially in the bathroom. The towels need to be replaced; they are getting old and scratchy. The common spaces were dirty and some of the furniture needs to be replaced due to excess wear.

Cute hotel with log cabin vibe. Rooms are fairly standard. Good lighting. Decent Wi-Fi. Our room had a great view of Mt Shasta. Pool and hot tub. Hot tub had so many suds it was almost unusable. No complimentary breakfast. Restaurant on site. Reasonably comfortable bed. Fairly good outlet placement. We could connect our own streaming device. Generally quiet room however the multiple trains with horns after midnight were loud.

This Best Western allows your dog to stay in your room (for a fee) and they claim to be pet friendly, but in all of their "fine print" they have a policy that states you can't leave your pet in the room alone. We PAID for the pet friendly room so we COULD leave our pet at the hotel and hike on trails around Mt. Shasta that we were not able to bring a dog on. It is a normal assumption that you can leave your pet in a room you paid to have a pet it to go out to eat, explore the area etc. Because they have this policy and we left our dog in the room alone, they charged us AN ADDITIONAL $250 fee. Our pet did no damage to the room. By having a policy like this, I would say they ARE NOT PET FRIENDLY and will find any reason to charge you an additional fee. I stay at Best Westerns for weeks on end for work, that's over. I hope the $250 was worth it. Hilton, here I come.

Nice hotel. The standard Best Western TV remote is not full functioned (cannot scan ahead to see what the evening's movies). Great view of Mt Shasta is a plus. And it is a short walk to the original Black Bear Diner! Edited review based on feedback from the owner.

Not fond of the hotel. There is no elevator in #2 building, which makes it really difficult when you have luggage and kids. I got a 2 queen 1 king suite, and the heater in king area was so loud, it kept the kids up. We had to turn it off and crank up the one in the living room. There is also no complimentary breakfast, as there is a restaurant on site. If we are in the area again, I will not choose to stay here.

An excellent stop on the way south (or North!) with good rooms, restaurant and bar. Accessible room features were excellent and they are pet friendly too!

This hotel is a little old but that adds to the charm!!! Walls are thin but the bed, pillows, shower and air conditioning all were great! Dog friendly rooms. Keep in mind that there is no continental breakfast since there is a restaurant on site.

BW Diamond member here. This hotel is extremely over-priced. They have 2 restaurants but no complimentary breakfast which is one of the reasons I stay at BW. Also there was a horrible low hum/rumble in the room. It could be the split heater units? Bathroom an not working. Hotel might look decent, but it has issues. The best part of this stay is the donut shop just a few blocks away. First and Last visit to this Best Western.

Nice hotel, friendly staff. The room was looking a little tired and would benefit from an update. But it was clean and had an amazing mountain view. The on site restaurantn Cooper's was great. Dinner was really good. It was hot, fresh and full of flavor. Asher, our waiter was super friendly, attentive and even brought a bowl of water for our pup. Breakfast was equally good as well. Nice job guys.

This location is within walking distance to two restaurants and one grocery store. The front counter staff who checked us in was pleasant to talk to. We picked this hotel because we trusted best western plus and there is a lack of better hotels in the city of Mt Shasta. But I guess Best Western lowered its standard for a Plus hotel. This hotel is a motel and the room is not very clean. We saw hair in the bathtub and a pool of water on the night stand. Breakfast was served at a restaurant attached to this hotel. The price is comparable to other breakfast restaurant in this area. The service was a bit slow and they seem to be understaffed.

One of the reasons we stayed here was for the pool and Jacuzzi. the Jacuzzi was not working and the heater was not working on the pool! We were here for two nights. On our second day, the key cards stopped working and I had to wait in a line of people checking in to get the key cards fixed. They gave us a discount because of the pool/jacuzzi situation. The place is clean but could use some maintenance and more help. The hotel itself is a nice place to stay in Shasta. I hope they don’t let it go much more. I guess times are hard and cutbacks in service are what is happening now at most establishments.

When we arrived, the hotel was in the process of tackling some mechanical issues that were currently going on. A representative of Best Western could see my disappointment (although this issue could not be helped) by the name of Shlomi stepped up and gave us a room upgrade at no charge. A very proactive and take charge young man! Happy to see the customer service that he and his team provided. Hope to see him again managing one of these hotels...:) The area is phenomenal to view, staff were very professional- always helpful and always smiling!

Waitress chased us out of the hotel accusing us of not paying our breakfast bill. She said we had to pay her. We had paid at the cash register. We had to provide her with the receipt, which she took away from us, and did not have the grace to apologize. Guests at hotel were smoking cigarettes and pot in main guest areas...and yelling obscenities at 11pm on a Wed night. Definitely will never stay there again.

For a Best Western, I was pleasantly surprised. The rate was much too high for the value, but our room was clean, spacious, and it was in a good location. We spent one night here and switched over to the Loge, which was much more our style, and far more fun. Would recommend checking there first for better priced and a more genuine Shasta experience.

I stayed at this gorgeous looking hotel. Looks can be deceiving. I absolutely will not ever stay here again, or possibly any Best Western now. The customer experience for me was terrible. Here I am a week after our terrible experience and I’m still dealing with them. I have a dear friend in the Best Western family of employees, and I used her friends and family discount to reserve my room for a stay to go to a very dear friend of mine‘s wedding. I confirmed my reservation over the phone with staff the morning of check-in, and this gentleman did not inform me of a new policy for friends and family discount that an authorization form needs to be provided at the time of check-in. In explaining to staff that I wasn’t aware of this form I was told that I needed to provide it or I’d be charged full price which was a lot. This is memorial day weekend and my friend was not working but I did get a hold of her and eventually got my authorization form to the front desk, but in between the three days that we were there, I was harassed by staff every time they saw me to provide this form, or I was going to have to pay some outrageous overcharged amount. The emphases with them was the money I would have to pay. When I checked out, they confirmed they finally had received the authorization form, it has been a week and I reviewed my credit card statement to find out that I was charged the full price with no discounts applied Not even one for booking 3 months in advance, AAA which I have, nothing. I budgeted this trip and to pay a lot more than expected is terrible. It is a terrible experience I never want relive. I do not recover staying here unless you have money to blow and do not care about expenses then stay here. It was beautiful but was not worth the amount I paid.

Last year we were on a road trip and the rental car broke down in the nearby area so we booked a room here last minute. The staff took great care of us. This year we made it part of the plan to visit again in a road trip and enjoyed our stay again. The staff was super nice, the dinner was great, and there's free EV charing for non-Tesla/Rivian by Rivian. The rooms on the second floor with vaulted ceilings were nice. We look forward to visiting again in the future.

I've been to a few other best westerns, mostly WA, but the Tree House is incredibly expensive for a little less than what is normally offered. They have a restaurant attached, but no complementary breakfast? The pool and hot tub are nice, the staff are awesome, and the woodwork is pretty cool. However a little disappointed and won't return

The room was nice and clean. Plenty of room. The beds were very firm. No pillow top. The wall mounted heater sounded like a semi truck was parked feet from the wall and made the wall rattle. Either ours or the room next to ours was on all night and the sounds went thru my skull. The bathrooms have no vent, so if your husband drops a nasty one at the beginning of your stay, you are screwed.

We were snowed in and I was able to grab a room for my son and I that night. Staff was accommodating and very friendly. Pool and hot tub were up and running. Very clean establishment with an in house restaurant as well. The rooms were spacious and clean a little outdated in the bathroom but fully functional. The room was warm and inviting and we had a great night's sleep. My son built a snowman in the morning and we were on our way back home afterwards. Thankful for the hospitality and ease of mind to rest while the roads cleared up.

This is a very nice stay when I-5 gets challenging in winter. The location is in the shadow of Mt. Shasta. This sleepy little town has few amenities but is worth staying and exploring the beauty of Northern California. Bring your camera and hiking boots.

I tried to like this hotel, but it keeps getting worse and worse. For starters, room rates have increased more than $100 since last year for the same room on the same dates. Not sure what the increased rate is for, but it’s not for housekeeping. When we checked in for our 4-night stay, we were told there would be NO housekeeping services. No trash removal. No clean towels. No vacuuming. No bathroom cleaning. No restocking of soap or shampoo. (I guess that tiny bottle of shampoo and sliver of soap was supposed to suffice for 3 adults for 4 days?) Our room was stocked with 2 sets of towels for 3 adults for 4 days. I had to walk down to the front desk at 11 pm to get more towels and they said they didn’t have any. Staff member finally got us some towels from the pool. We then had a discussion about the lack of housekeeping services for four days being unacceptable, and I was told our room would be serviced each day. It wasn’t. Housekeeping never came to clean our room. On day 3, we met one of the housekeeping staff in the hallway and paid her to clean our room. This hotel is very difficult to maneuver if you have trouble with steps. (Don’t stay here if you have bad knees!) Most of the hotel has no elevator, so if you aren’t on the ground floor, you have to haul your luggage up two flights of stairs to get to your room, and go up and down the stairs every time you want to leave the room. (No one offers to help with luggage — you are on your own.) I specifically asked if there were any suites on the ground floor or in the building with an elevator, and was told no. It turns out this isn’t true and there ARE a few suites that don’t require you to go up and down the stairs, but the staff member I talked to gave me false information. This Best Western does not offer the standard free breakfast that other BW hotels do. The food at the hotel restaurant is good, but service is “interesting.” Our server was efficient, but bossy. If you don’t immediately know what you want, she will tell you what you want. If you do know what you want, she will tell you that you are wrong. The bright spot at this hotel is the staff at Cooper’s. Very nice people and good service! Some of the older hotels in Mt. Shasta are being updated and renovated. I recommend checking them out, rather than giving the Best Western Treehouse your money.

Haven't stayed here, but a repeat customer at the Tree House restaurant/bar. Good food, great place to grab a drink and watch sports. Really nice wood cabin decor to remind you how close to Mt. Shasta you are. Always clean with friendly staff.

It's an old hotel, and it reflects in every aspect of your stay here. We went to the front desk four times in the first 24 hours to get our room access restored. It still doesn't work for the back door. They have a good pool but a namesake gym.

This is not a 5 star hotel but it should be a 5 star Best Western not for luxury but for comfort and ambience. Nice place to stay for a drive from California to Portland. The parking for moving trucks is awesomely abundant and easy access. The rooms are small but clean, some rooms have two doors with access to the grass area as well as the hallway to the lobby. The entrance area is beautiful for a Best Western, the dining area is huge. There are stores, a gas station and Chase bank right across the street. There a a few restaurants around as well and plenty of places to walk your dog. We stayed her twice and will probably always stay here when making that drive. I highly recommend this place.

Great place to stay if you have a dog. Pet-friendly environment with a spacious lawn for walking your pooch. The hotel restaurant has an uncovered outdoor patio section where your dog can sit with you. Rooms are a little pricey (the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars), but it's worth it to us to have such a dog-friendly experience.
