Beautiful look out spot over Muroran's Pacific coast. Parking, toilets and free to visit. If you visit on Marine day you can go inside the lighthouse.

In a city with not much to do this is a beautiful highlight and photo spot! Near it at the mountain there are also several small mom and pop food shops that serve amazing streetfood and noodles including the specialty Curry Ramen.

The cape needs a little stairs climbing. Good spot to view the sea and the light house. There is a stand made for u to hold your camera for taking photo. It is obvious which spot to place your camera and stand for best view when u see it ~~ It gets slippery during winter due to icing. Watch your foot. Ring the bell when u are at top. U know what to do when u see it. It’s a bell for happiness and prosperities ~~~ There’s toilet and vending machines here. A good spot to do a pit stop. There’s a big car park.

Spectacular view of snow-top mountain, endless ocean, and clear sky altogether. Only a few stairs away from a well-organized parking space. Pretty amazing.

Beautiful cliff where you can see a divine scenery. I think it's a must stop if you're in Hokkaido but it's quite a drive to get here. There's absolutely nothing stopping the wind so it's extremely windy and cold so bring a jacket.

Beautiful and very impressive view point. We visit there on May 2019, at that time weather is very good ,clear sky ,blue Pacific Ocean, love this place.

I’m glad I made the detour after Hell’s Valley. The views are beautiful and peaceful. But the bell, oh wow, when a bus load of tourists come- its a consistent ding dong and incessant chatter.

Nice view. Some parts closed though. Worth to come only if its on your way. Just my humble opinion though

Beautiful scenery with a 'happiness bell' that you can ring and also a viewing platform overseeing the horizon of the ocean.

Popular amongst tourists, like, bus loads of tourists. We encountered both domestic and foreign tourists alike. However people were mostly gracious, and waited to take turns to take pictures at the view points, and there were several. There’s even a selfie point to place your phone to take a picture with the cape chikyu signboard. Toilet and a small snack shop were right next to the car park.

If you are driving from Noribetsu to Hakodate, strongly recommend that you take a slight detour off to Cape Chikyu to really CHECK-KYU out. A windy coast with an attraction built. You are expected to spend around 30-45 minutes here before quickly moving on to your next attraction. Giving it is slightly off the gird, did not see that many tourist here as well :)

Just a little view point of the bay, had a nice view and no wait. Only problem is that you can’t go up to the light house because of safety reasons.

A nice walk from the station and a spectacular view of the lighthouse and coast. Was an experience going here in winter but worth the cold Hokkaido winds and walking ankle deep in snow. Wrap up warm if you visit in winter!

As a person who loves a good view of the ocean, this is definitely a place I could spend a good amount of time at The good weather helps, as you can see from the photo

Cape Chikyu in Muroran, Hokkaido is a beautiful cape facing Uchiura Bay... or so they say. With all this fog, I had no idea what I was even looking at... just bad timing, I suppose.
