Very good shabu shabu restaurant in the center of Naha. Recently opened restaurant (Oct 2018) on Okiei Dori, nearby Kokusai Dori. The 3 black pigs on the restaurant caught our attention. Shown menu was only in Japanese language but the staff brought an ordering tablet with multiple language: Japanese, Korean, Chinese and English. Surprised of the cozy and nice interior. Staff is very helpfull and speak English very well. We have ordered the ¥4500 set menu with goya dish and fried dish. Staff has explained every dish with additional information. Even the soba is typical Okinawa, differs from other regions. We have enjoyed the diner every moment. All the dishes tastes very good. I would highly recommend this restaurant for those who would try original Okinawan dishes (for the first time) with a great staff service.

Very good shabu shabu shop (sign is that of 3 black pigs) showcasing best of Okinawan - beef / pork & local vegetables! Happened to chance upon this gem of a restaurant the night after typhoon passed (seems usually booked out in advance), which was stone's throw from Don Quijote and WBF Art Stay hotel. We ordered 2 sets (1 pork only / other is pork 4980yen + beef combo 6980yen). It comes with small trio of appetisers, pot of local vegetables, dessert, carbs at end (basically noodles added to leftover soup) and also split into 2 soup base in a pot (1 for pork 1 for beef). The meat came with portion of umibudo (sea grapes) on the side, and boy did it elevate the taste and texture of the already good meat (alongside yuzu kosho / ponzu sauce). English menu is available via ipad option, and there was a couple of staff with small command of English as well. Only 2 downside here was we were told we can't order 1 set to share (had to order 2 for 2 pax), but i feel it could have been a miscomm, and other was they didn't quite explain where each different cut of meat came from (we saw different name tags on meat portions). It was so good we tried to go for dinner again on our final night, but they were already booked out then. A high recommendation, if only just for the local vege showcase (since other restaurants also has usual beef / pork choice).

Okinawa is quite well known for its pork shabu shabu and I'd such a good experience with Agu that I wanted to have a other shabu shabu meal in Naha. RYUKYU is somewhat more upmarket with pricier sets but also have the option of a la carte wagyu beef as well. The whole setting is has that keiseki feel as everything looks too pretty to be eaten. All good so far, but after the meal I had the same reflection as my 2 old aunts... The quality of the meat at Agu is actually better in terms of taste plus prices are more reasonable.
