I enjoy coming here on Sundays as there is no traffic and it's nice and peaceful there aside from the lady selling kids books haha. The shop has some good quality items you can pick up too. The service and atmosphere are top, the food decent, but good for the region.

We had a burger and pulled pork sandwich, the pulled pork was exceedingly delicious. The service wasn't the most responsive to us.

Shambala was an unexpected treat. Lots of outside seating, which we did. Full bar, in which we partook. The rustic setting with the wonderful Kenyan weather made for a great experience. Oh.. and the dishes are creative, made from local suppliers, and very tasty.

@shambacafe is one of those restaurants you should try. Tucked in the cozy Loresho, its ambiance, customer service, ample airy indoor and outdoor seating, and contemporary selection of #farmtotable menu options make it ideal for a good time. Quick service and enough space for kids and pets is a plus! We had the chicken wings that came in a generous portion, gimlet cocktail, milkshakes, and, of course, build your own pizza out of these meat options salami, pepperoni, Italian sausage, boerwors or chicken. Located at the interiors of Loresho so a cab should do and roughly a 2k-2500 per person budget [depends - see menu on website as this can be subjective]. Also, have a large space for events [pics 6-10] They got a new space for events too! #lifeinnairobi #lifestyleblogger #foodie #foodblogger #lifestyleinnairobi #foodstagram #restaurantreview #nairobiplaces #nairobieats #foodblog #nairobirecommendation

Shamba Cafe is a little heaven just outside the busy inner city buzz of Nairobi. The place has a gorgeous garden where they grow organic vegetables. The event venue is like a barn that is very spacious on the inside. Being there for the Africa Climate Tech Festival felt like I was home because of the peaceful atmosphere at the place. I loved the food from breakfast down to lunch. The hospitality was out of this world - everyone took time to share a smile and made everyone feel welcomed. Definitely a place I wouldnโ€™t mind visiting over and over again during my visits to Kenya ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ช

Good food but poor service. We had gone for our Sunday breakfast and they took almost 1hr+ to serve eggs, omelette etc. Despite of alerting the waiters our food came so late. We are definitely not going there again!

Great ambience, beautiful setting (especially around sunset to evening), fresh farm to table food and they live up to their name with the beautiful Shanna around the property. They allow pets. The shop is well stocked with organic products they grow themselves. Service is slow but definitely worth the wait. The quality of food is exceptional and the portions are very generous. Definitely a winning choice whether you're shopping for fresh organic products, taking a solo break, fancy dinner or group party.

This is my personal best restaurant in Nairobi. The food is all natural (fresh from the farm as the name suggests) with bountiful portions. The ambience is breathtaking and staff are warm but a little slow. They frequently hold a free market for fresh produce. There is nothing NOT to love about the place.

Wonderful place with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Really nice food, nice presentation. Had the chicken sandwich and it was good. The service however was bad... It took 15 minutes before someone brought us the menu and when we asked for the lunch menu we were told they would not serve lunch for another 30 minutes so we had to wait. The place was not very busy and still it was not easy to get a waiter's attention.

Great location and ambience, a restful break from the dust and buzz. Outdoor seating has a decent view and fresh air, but can get a little chilly. Food options and specials are great, portions are large and value for money. Some unique options (had the Guinness steak pie) not usually found in other cafes. Food took a long time to arrive though (45mins) for a group of 4, but well worth it. Coffee is just standard, nothing outstanding. The bakery attached to it is a hidden gem, go for the well priced and wide selection of bagels!

I was disappointed with this place because of their service. Went to have brunch and when we got there, no one offered to welcome us or sit us. We got to the reception desk and asked the girl there to sit us. She took us to a table we didn't like and just left us, no words. We moved to a different table and no one came to take our orders for like 30 min. I got upset when a white couple came in after us, got sat and this same girl even explained the menu to them. Such racial profiling! I actually wanted to leave, until one waiter passed by and asked if someone had taken our order. I pointed out my disappointment and afterwards, they kept checking in with us. The manager apologized and said that they were hosting two groups and were busy. That I understand, but it doesn't mean that other customers should be neglected or experience RACIAL PROFILING! I will commend the waiter who served us. He was really nice. However, I am never going back here and wouldn't recommend. Their food is not worth the horrible service.

It is a very nice place! The food is qualitatively very high, tasty and very skilled prepared. But the service is super slow and uncoordinated. The waiters and waitresses are super friendly but slow and tend to forget things. One thing which is really annoying are the uneducated and all the time barking dogs which are often off leash. PLEASE dear Cafe Shamba make dogs ON leash MANDATORY for every dog around. Dogs, especially uneducated and young ones MUST NOT run around the kids and run them over. This behaviour of dogs and their holders is not acceptable and can be very dangerous. The children can play around and thereโ€™re many possibilities for them- but some are for charge and can be quit pricy. Donโ€™t forget to agree on a price before you let them paint a picture. Itโ€™s a nice offer, but one lady was that greedy that she wanted to charge each Color for the painted pictures of the kids separately. Incredible. Nice 2nd hand clothes are available. The shop is nice, has a lot of bio products but is also very price to overpriced. Also nice place to buy good plants.

The place is beautiful, has parking inside and across. Offers a different setup being a farm like, not your usual restaurant experience. Alot of vendors with variety to choose from (fruits, decor, home made ingredients, outfits ...) I loved the environment but was very disappointed by service being extremely slow. Sat down and no one bothered to take my order. Had to purchase and carry my drink from the counter. Still for additional drink I placed my order but was never delivered. I have mixed feelings about this place but would still try it again. Small issue but still I recommend.

Amazing food and atmosphere, plus the owner is very nice and friendly Edit: Want back and the service was awful. They took forever to take our order then said the kitchen just closed so we couldn't order what we wanted - also just was very rude about it like it was our fault.

The whole concept of farm to table is such a great idea. The location is super nice and you even get to see coffee farms on the way. Unfortunately our meat platter was cold but asked the service to warm it which went ok. But the rest would highly recommend it

Shamba is a wonderful location and atmosphere, especially on a clear day. If the restaurant is busy the service is pretty hit or miss. Sometimes you have to track down your server; sometimes the food is a 10/10 and other times the food may be cold. Itโ€™s a really great place to work from.

The security was quite friendly when getting into the place which was looking quite good. There's sitting spaces both inside and outside. I preferred the outdoors since it was cool and sunny. There were a lot of pet dogs in the area which is a plus since not too many places would allow for that. The service was slow however, they made up for it after things got into motion. They have bout 70+ tables and you can reserve a table well in advance. The architecture of the place is marvellous and you'll definitely like how it looks. They have a flower shop, a tree nursery shop, planters etc all that you'd need for a gardening set up. If you're into plants, you should check them out. There's all kinds of people in the place which makes it multicultural and thats also a plus. The place is good enough for group hangouts and definitely a place to unwind when alone, fits in perfectly.

This spot is truly a breath of fresh air. The layout is super chill, open plan barn style buildings with massive windows and an open yard with trees. Great shade to sit out and pass time. Bring your kids and your dogs too. Located towards the vet school in past Loresho it has decent parking and a relaxed atmosphere. Closes at 7pm during weekdays, kitchen closes at 10pm on weekends.

Love the setting! Outdoor seating, kids playing, different breeds of dogs lolling under trees and tables...some had spread picnic blankets and their kids were wreaking havoc, on it. Very multicultural. There's an open area as you enter where you'll find multiple stalls and interesting stuff being sold. There's a shop that sells organic and healthy food. Art being displayed at one end of the grounds. Just a very happening place. We went on a Sunday for the first time with our two kids, every table was occupied and it's clearly not the kind of place one eats and leaves, most stay till their hair turns grey, like we did. Best to make a reservation, even though the sweet girl at the reservation counter still managed to get us a table, within 10 mins. The pizzas were OUT OF THE WORLD, the chicken was meh. Wine list could do with a nice refreshing sweet one for a hot summer day. The dessert platter was decent. Over all a good meal. Go for the ambience, stay for the pizzas and if you're in luck to get Nick attending to you. Your food will be faster and you'll be taken care of.

Setting continues to be lovely, staff continue to be friendly, food is good, service continues to be poor. We have been here a few times, always hoping it has improvedโ€ฆbut not yet. Slow service, 1 meal arrived incomplete, 3 of 4 people received and finished their meal before the last one arrived. Today 12th June 2021, pathetic pathetic pathetic and non existent service. 15 minutes waiting to be seated, sat for 30 minutes no service. This gem is tucked in the Loresho suburbs therefore a very nice ambient environment with good views. The whole concept is based on using renewable and environmental friendly items, from the housing structure, the chairs, the utensils. It's a good place to hold conferences etc. The food is amazing, the service is great! I would definitely recommend.

I loved the food ๐Ÿ˜‹ but the service was very wanting. The waiter didn't smile, was slow, seemed preoccupied or maybe they were understaffed for that day. But this isn't my first time there. Even the last time I remember I went, loved the food and left annoyed with the service. The restaurant is super vibey and nice inside, simple and well designed. Very intentionally done. But I think the servers could be a bit more happier and welcoming to guests. I don't know the background of their work environment which tends to contribute to such a countenance in someone.

Serene location and beautiful aesthetics. Food and service were sub-standard. First visit had the nachos platter that took over 20 minutes to be served, tortilla chips were from a bag. Second visit had their spicy fish fingers which were also served late and not worth the wait, not to mention I got sick afterwards. Their orange juice was also not fresh and was most likely of the Minute Maid variety. Disappointed that their price point, beautiful surrounds, and the effort it takes to get there do not translate into a satisfactory dining experience.

This place is in the middle of maize, coffee and banana farm and have the finest air quality. It is also worth noting that their facility is family friendly. The people are welcoming. On our last visit, we have had piri piri chicken pizza, Hummus, garlic and ginger prawn, Halloumi salad. All of them were made from healthy recipe. The pizza is a must to taste! Great food, good ambience and serene location. Offers both in-house and outdoor sitting and is pet friendly. There is a kids playing area as well. Thus ideal for a whole family outing and group dinners. Temperature checks are carried out and masks too are required when walking around the premises. Strategic hand washing facilities. There is an organic spice and farm shop where one can get a variety of spices, herbs and much more. The food and drinks prices are relatively okay.. align to a mid to up market restaurant. Will visit again.

We had 5 different dishes & all were delicious! Loved seeing such multiculturalism in Nairobi as well & as we live in London this reminded us of home. To top it all off the lovely owner came to us to recommend her favourite cider & even treated us to see if we would like it as much as she did, we did!. Thank you Shamba great experience all round. Visited on a Sunday. After 15 Minutes we got hold of a waiter. 30 Minutes later not even the drinks arrived. I talked to them and was promised that we will be served. Nothing happened - we left. Its like a swarm of bees with the waiters - whereas a swarm of bees is organized and they know what to do.

Awesome grounds. Pet friendly with a playground, slackline, and other things to do. We came on a Sunday for our first visit. We stood around waiting to be seated for almost 5 minutes with no assistance, before just picking a free table, only to discover that we should have made a reservation. They still served us, but it still made things awkward and uncomfortable. We will probably come again, but these are things that need to be clearly advertised.

Nice, simple, rustic vibe (the restaurant and shop have been set up in a barn like shell of a building). The low rating is mainly because of slow almost non existant service we received. Right from get go we weren't sure if it was self service or not. There were waiters around but they seemed busy. Another issue was finding the right place to seat. There were alot of spaces but the table had reserved signs on them. Those without a reservation signs had not been cleaned up after...so it took abit of time to get settled. By then, our mood was off - we were even contemplating on just leaving but we were hungry. We decided to have a quick 'snack'; opted to get pizza. The suprise; that pizza was soo good! I wish the service was better...

Lovely outdoor atmosphere on Saturdays with a market that includes vegetables, other food items, and non food items like clothing, bags, jewelry, etc. The shop here offers a wide selection of organic and local food. Looking forward to trying the restaurant next time.

Beautiful restaurant with lovely shop on a huge estate with lots of outdoor seating. Farm to table food. Delicious. An oasis serves breakfast lunch. Dinner may resume when covid restrictions are over. Chef owner worked at high end resorts and luxurious yachts before opening her own restaurant in this tranquil suburban area of Nairobi. Fast free wifi. Friendly staff. Chill vibe. Free parking.. Reply

My friend brought me here for the first time. It is an open air restaurant. The cafe has a roof but also with plenty of fresh air. So ideal during this covid pandemic time. All the staff including our waitress on this day, Mercy were professional. The establishment gets 3 stars from me due to the waiting time on orders. Check it out next time you are in Loresho, Nairobi.

Very nice environment and very tasty food, albeit their double burger patties are quite small in comparison to cost and competition out there. The steak is to die for, so yummy!

The good food made the long wait worth it. I don't suppose that it is always as slow as it was yesterday, but time will tell when I go back on a Sunday if my kids will agree. I'll be going back on my own during the week when it is probably quieter.
