I quite enjoyed this place though I rushed and didn't really do it justice. The labelling is slmost all in french, but you can access english information using a QR code, which would probably improve the experience. The contents include some artifacts about Jules Verne's life and also some based on his works and the media derived from them. He must have been an extraordinary man.

This visit was great value. The museum is full of Verne mementoes, first editions, story related posters, toys and films, and much information about Jules Verne’s life and his attachment to Nantes.

The museum uses pictures and writings to remember the city's great son, whose imagination has even been overtaken by reality. A pioneer for many future developments: nearby he is depicted in bronze as a child in Nantes, he spent his childhood here.

This museum is the place to learn about Jules Verne, how he had inspiring future more than 100 years ago. He influenced many of scientists and engineers. I am one of them.

Someone has to be a lover of Verne's novels and usually at least one of his masterpieces met us in one of its various forms during our childhood. Therefore we are all enthusiastic when visiting the museum which has a wonderful timeline of Verne's family and life as well as of his editions and their impact. More description in English would be more helpful but in the bottom line, this one hour visit made me travel, read, remember and feel passionate.

Unless you are a hardened Jules Verne fan, this is one to avoid. They could have done so much more with the Verne material, such a shame.

Unfortunately mainly in French, but very interesting with the translator app. And with an entrance fee of €4 for an adult, it's not too expensive either. From the small park in front you have a good view over Nantes and the Loire.

A small museum with replicas of the inventions of Jules Verne, display of his books, manuscripts, posters and games. You can learn a lot about his life and work. The museum itself is not very attractive, just with a few artefacts but for real fans of Jules Verne it's the unique place. A bit far away from the city center but with lovely views to Loire.

It is not Jules Verne's house, there is almost nothing historical from him, so I wouldn't call it a museum, but it was interesting and I discovered things I never knew about his life and being in a place that he used a lot was interesting.

Small but pleasant museum dedicated to the early Pioneer of sci fi. Speaking french would be an advantage of course, but there are enough English bits to help tell the story of his life.

Jules Verne has always been one of my favorites during my teens. The museum is small but considering the subject: a fiction writer, they could have done with one planch. They didn't and you'll be surprised and have some reviving memories on for example ," Yourney to the center of the World". The room dedicated to the Snaefallsjökel (Snellen in the fiction book) has a scientist explaining research going on at this moment, as entering the sleeping vulcano still isn't possible. As a matter of fact there is a chance the Vulcano will revive caused by melting of the gletsjer because off climate change. A liveline and contemporary scientific discoveries are depicted on a wall, with witch you can revisit his life. Outside a garden with a superb sight on the harbour of Nantes.

An interesting enough experience while visiting Nantes. We were lucky enough to get in for free because it was digital week which was a nice surprise. They had several interactive exhibitions focused around Virtual Reality which fun. I expected a few more items on display but still something to see. The exhibition is tailored to French visitors with almost everything in French. The most annoying part is the signs displaying information about items are maybe 10% of what it actually shows in French. If you want to see some of his creations in full size head over to the nearby Island that has the giant elephant you can't miss.

Have read what I thought where his stories and seen the films. I did not know he wrote a lot more and his views of love, relationships and equality where decades before their time which some people have trouble with in the 21st century. The 2 euros per person this place is a hidden gem in Nantes. Even though it is slightly out of the centre it is well worth the walk.

Relied heavily on long video clips, very little about the content of his books, and did not really give a good narrative of his life. (Rooms were split into themes, but felt disjointed.

Although I can read french, there were no explanations in other languages other than french. No English, Spanish, German wte. Makes no sense in a country in the EU. Makes no sense in the 21st century. They do give a small panflet with some info, but you do miss out a lot if you can't read french. Also, Jules Verne was a visionary and had an amazing brain. This museum could be more interactive and more alive, as Verne's mind. As for biography, I left without much knowledge, other than he was once a distance husband, had one kid and travelled with with brother and wrote some books and plays. The house is cute and the staff is nice, but the museum itself it's not very interesting. However, it was only four euros, which I think it's fine for what it offers.

Lots of info on Jules Verne, his work and his life, with special emphasis on his wife and women in his books. Mostly only in French, which is a negative for many visitors who love Verne. Great view onto Ile de Nantes, towards Machines de l'Ile, inspired in part by Verne's imagination.
