KK&Dee you simply must come here. Everyone should make a stop. Best Chinese food in Nelson. If you’re craving Asian food, this place is comforting. The dumplings are a must. Also had the Mapo Tofu, which had great flavours. Not your usual Mapo Tofu, but a good homey version. Tofu chunks were big, but had a light crisp and soft inside. Pineapple fried rice was also flavourful and delicious. On a hot day, the lemon honey orange drink will quench your thirst. Super refreshing and reminds me of a tasty marmalade. Wish I took a photo of the other things, but got swept up in the moment. Will come back the next time we’re in Nelson.

This was one of the most pleasant dining experiences of my life. I wish I lived in Nelson so that I could go all the time! I don't ever leave reviews but felt I must for this tea house, because I want everyone to go. The owner was helpful and lovely; she told me that the soup would make me feel good, and it indeed nourished my mind, spirit, and body. Thank you How Shang Shway for nourishing me!

What a wonderful place for a delicious meal prepared by a kind woman. This is a simple place with good quality food that is sure to leave you satisfied and happy. I love that the meals are prepared based on Traditional Chinese medicine principles and you can feel the care put into each dish. Definitely a new favourite!

Amazing little place for cup of cold or hot tea. They also offer meals. The owners of this tea house is very friendly and kind. I believe this spot is cash only and there are not many parking available right at the tea house. They also follow Tao tradition which makes it so special. Be sure to check the hours of operation before going there. It’s one of Nelson’s gems. I’m wishing you a enjoyable time at the tea house.

Went back after not having gone for a while, and the food was as excellent as I remember. There is such a variety in tea, I can't wait to try them all. There are a few menu items, all which are tasty. They do not use onions and garlic which does not affect the flavors at all. Highly recommend.

First time and won't be the last. Simple, 'homecooked' food with a tonne of familiar flavours. Restaurant has chill mom and pop vibes, and whether you're vegan or not, you should come here for the soup noodles and potstickers at the very least. Cold teas were also delicious. Whole meal was pretty cheap compared to trendier restaurants in town.

A hidden gem in Nelson! Must visit if you want an affordable and fairly priced meal that is delicious and nutritious. The teas are a great pairing and both the summer and red barley tea were refreshing on a hot day. Sit on the deck and enjoy lunch with a view of the mountains. Bring cash as they don't take card. Wonderful and genuine service from the owners. Will be back!!

This place was amazing! We had the hot and sour soup and and it was so delicious. The owners were also super friendly. Great stop for a healthy and satisfying meal.

The owner of this restaurant is a sweet lady who explained the meaning of How Shang Shway in the English words and also Chinese characters! She took pride in the food she prepared for us - which was incredibly delicious. She asked us where we were from and how we found out about the restaurant. There was a whole menu of tea to choose from and a small menu for food - which is good. I would highly recommend a stop here and sit outside and look out at the lake if possible.

I love restaurants that offer an experience to go with the food. The cute couple who own the place were very attentive and gave us some information about Taiwan and veganism there. The restaurant is not fancy, but it is cozy, and there is a good selection of teas. The food is home cooked and I had it for leftovers two days later and it was still delicious.
