The Food In This Charming Malaysian Restaurant Is Freshly Prepared & Tasty. The Lunch Special Prices are Great & Serving Sizes are Good. The Service is Friendly & Very Efficient, the Restaurant is Very Clean & the Decor Is Quite Pleasant & there is Parking at the front of the Restaurant. All in all a Very Enjoyable Experience.

The place is a bit basic, and the menu is always the same but they have a fairly vast selection. The food is good and the service is efficient. Garlic calamari were actually fried, that was slightly disappointing as the garlic prawns weren't and I was expecting something similar. I tried the sambal curry last time I went and I found it wasn't as amazing as a Thai curry can be, but that is just my preference of Thai food over Malaysian. The prawns in the curry were a bit tough. The Laksas are good.

The usual good food and service. Prices are still very reasonable and good sized servings. The roti bread is the best. BYO.

This is gonna be a long-winded review, but TLDR don’t go if you actually want to eat Malay food So let’s begin, just drove to and back toowoomba and craving something spicy and hearty. Kopitalk isn’t open and this restaurant has a review that acclaims the laksa is nice so decided to try it out. Gotta be honest I would’ve went into the Thai place few doors down if it wasn’t full. But anyway, went in asking to dine in and she went ahead and looked at her watch, I thought what was that for? But she decided to wait me to a table. Ordered the laksa from another waitress. Came out quick less than 10 minutes. And oh my days, it was bad. Mung bean sprout was withered like you would have it after 2-3 weeks in your fridge. Meat was marinated for god knows how long, soup was sweet like cup of coffee with 5 sugars, 70 percent soup. Absolute let down Then saw that they are hiring casual waiting person, I thought interesting they’ve already have 4-5 waiters going around wiping tables and stuff. Got the reason why right after I came out from toilet, I would assume it’s the boss or manager speaking rudely (in Australian standard) to the waitress, high wait person turnover is my guess As for other stuff, atmosphere was not kampung at all, it would be more of a middle-high class restaurant if this is in Malaysia. Light Malay rock playing in the background is meh. Dragon Chinese character hanging in the male toilet suggest owner could be Chinese but I’m generalising. Now, I am born and bred Malaysian, take this review as you like but personally will not recommend, 1 star for quick meal from the kitchen

Great entree dishes, hot, fresh and very tasty. Good menu selection of mains, but I think we all ate too many dim sims, curry puffs, spring rolls and Satay skewers to fully enjoy the main courses. Will be going back.

How fantastic to go in a group (a bunch of couples) and have them automatically split the bill (after checking with us of course), giving each couple a number, and then proceeding to service the heck out of us. Great food, great service, great location. Half our group went back the next night!!! Can't be better than that can it?

A very reliable of everything as the long time owner is the expert chef and Christian as manager makes it all a great meal experience 😀

Always consistent with quality and service. Like everywhere though, is slowly getting more expensive. BYO does assist with keeping the cost down though. Been many, many times, and will return again.

Been here several times for great food, tonight meal was terrible, we couldn’t eat the sizzling beef, just beef, terribly strong sauce no veges included, when we asked for veges we were charged $19 extra as well as paying for beef meal we couldn’t eat. So so disappointed, will never return . Waitress very rude and uncaring.

Had dinner here last night with my family. The food was good and authentic. But the staff needs to make themselves aware of other faiths and cultures or stop judging other people's dietary requirements. We being told (without even asking) that the food menu is "not Halal" or a particular item has pork and ham in it, are not welcome and is uncomfortable. Especially when one can see a big bright blue turban and a beard on my person (physical attributes of a Sikh); in the middle of Gold coast (one of the most multicultural and multi faith city) leaves no reason to misidentify a person, or better, not to prejudge other person's dietary requirements. I'd be happy to provide details of organisations who provides cultural competence training. We still enjoyed the food, sambal and Penang curry were delicious.

Local gem - we go here for lunch at least once a week. Top notch service and delicious food. Cannot recommend highly enough - salt & pepper chicken is a must (they also do salt & pepper pork, it’s not on the menu but ask and they will do it).

Saturday night 8.33 pm after ordering entrees and mains for 5 people we wanted to order 5 desserts. We were told kitchen closed at 8.30 but opening hours are til 9pm. We weren’t asked if we wanted dessert or anything else before the kitchen was closing. Our request was 3 minutes late. Have been coming here for years. No more. Very disappointing. So bad for business.

The good thing about this restaurant is that is it consistent. The food is good without being extraordinary but the prices make it very worthwhile. The lunch specials are great value for money. There is usually a good crowd of older diners. They are good ones to follow. They know good value when they find it. Also the big bonus is that’s its BYO. Yes that’s right bring the wine you actually enjoy and pair that with the meal. Makes this place a standout. Would have given it 5stars but the place needs a bit of a makeover.

This place is quite literally the best Malaysian restaurant on the Gold coast. We have been a patron for nearly 20years and keep going back for more!

Food was delicious and we were served very quickly even though it was very busy. Seating is a bit too close between tables.

The banquet was really good value for money, food very tasty but left me very dry and thirsty. There was only one table attendant for a full restaurant, and while covid/flu may have impacted on staff availability, waiting for nearly two hours from arrival to having a meal placed is a bit beyond the pale.

Good $12 lunches that are simple, tasty and very fast served, if your after speedy meals that aren't big. Definitely precooked as everything had zucchini, pineapple and tomato!

I was really in the mood for a beef rendang and this place did not disappoint. Staff was friendly and helpful. Serving was generous and food flavoursome. Great value too. Will come back.

Went to the nearest asian food in the neighbourhood for lunch. It was busy but service really good, the lady accommodate us so well. We ordered : Fried Wonton, Tom Yum Prawn, Mongolian Beef, and rice for couple. We love the taste, delish! Affordable price and good portion! Overall, we love this place.
