Lovely pub, great design inside and it's spacious. Didn't have to wait to long for food. Food is plated up neatly and I was very impressed being a chef myself. Empty plates all round. Will 100% recommend this to people.

Went for one of our favourite canal walks and decided to stop and have lunch at The George Inn. What a gem !. Beautiful building, fantastic food and great service produced by Harry H. He was polite, courteous and professional. A true asset to the team. Thank you Harry for making our lunch special.

The food was good, our waiter exemplary. I had the rump steak, see picture. My wife the veggie burger. Both were great. Our waiter was outstanding in his role, serving us well, and spending time with regulars - nice touch. Unfortunately, kitchen very slow. Almost an hour from order to delivery spoiled the experience.

This inn was busy on a Friday evening so pleased we booked our meal. A little disappointed our first choice of meals were not available. However our second choices were well presented & tasty. We loved the desserts before leaving for the show in Bath. Atmosphere - we felt a little cramped and it was noisy. Excellent happy and friendly waitress. Will book to come again worth paying the £1 toll at Batheaston.

Super location. Had a drink by the canal whilst waiting for our table. Only 2 staff in but they were friendly, helpful and cheerful despite being so busy. Lovely food, interesting place, enclosed beer garden and dog friendly. A most enjoyable experience.

The setting was wonderful - everything you would expect of an old English pub. Food was good and pretty affordable for us South Africans!

Lovely historic pub with plenty of history (look it up) in a very picturesque setting alongside the Kennet & Avon canal. Very good quality food & drinks served by a friendly hard working team. Very dog friendly too. Venison was absolutely superb, closely followed by Steak & Ale pie and Sticky Toffee Pudding. Local brewery beer very tasty too.

A fantastic place for a Sunday roast! My friend and I both enjoyed our lunch here today. I had the crispy chilli squid starter with chilli jam relish (packs quite a kick!), followed by the trio of roasts (a slice of roast pork, a slice of roast beef and a slice of roast turkey). These were large, thick slices, done to perfection! There was an abundance of veg and roast potatoes too. If I'm honest, the potatoes were a bit bland unfortunately, as was the gravy (no discernible taste at all). Nonetheless, the meal was excellent value for money and the serving was huge! Service was excellent and the atmosphere was great. A really scenic place to stop off to eat!

Awesome Sunday Roast. Beef of ribs was succulent and falling off the bone. Amazing pork crackling and turkey tasted amazing too. We let our server choose the dessert and it was a great choice. Definitely highly recommended will return.

Excellent country pub with an interesting menu that caters for both the traditional tastes and those who are more adventurous. Lovely atmosphere and great service. Staff were very friendly and attentive throughout our meal. Lots of smaller partition with lovely and homey décor. Ample parking at the back with the first three hours free. Patrons who need to stay longer just need to inform the pub to avoid getting a ticket.

We took a detour so as not to go into Bath proper and came across the George Inn. Very nice pub. Very quaint and very popular! They have a good selection of meals and drinks on offer. We had the steak and ale pie! Wow. Really nice! Big meal! Very tasty. Would highly recommend! The staff were very helpful and pleasant!

Very impressed with food and politeness of staff, can definately recommend Korean BBQ chicken as they are served in Tampura batter which was delicious. Last visited on 6th November 2022 and met by a warm and cosy welcome, the perfect place to get out of the rain and relax.

Quality pub food in a great ambiance alongside the canal. Well worth a visit and it's big so you are likely to find a space, but to be safe you can book. The tarmac tow path is along the Kennet and Avon canal and makes half hour walk from Bath to Bathampton.

We didn’t eat but we had some drinks. This is one of my favourite pubs because if the walk to get there from along the canal. Absolutely stunning. But anyway. The pub is huge, really old, full of atmosphere and a real treat to visit.

Never has a pub restaurant been so genuinely caring about customer comfort and encountering a positive experience. The 2 staff members behind the bar yesterday afternoon could not have made us feel more welcome. They were absolutely lovely. The food was absolutely incredible. Feel lifted for the rest of the week from my visit yesterday. Definitely be back again :)
