Qaqun is an interesting site if you're interested in Crusader Fortresses. It's a fairly well preserved site but incredibly overgrown with local plants. The history of the site is one of battles over this tiny hill through every era of history. There is even a monument to the IDF soldiers who fell capturing the fortress during the 1948 war. The site is under the control of the national parks service but is free entrance.

Nice place for a family picnic. Especially with small kids.

We had a short walk there, the ruins of a crusader castle are magnificent.

Lovely place. In Qaqun you will find the remains of a small fortress. But make sure you don't expect anything big! There is also a good view point. The roads are not very fit for private vehicles.

Nice place, not busy, low maintenance...

Beautiful serene area to hang out. There are some nice areas on top of the historic buildings that people can relax on, and in my case, watch the sunset.
