Our wedding was fantastic, Sophie's as a venue couldn't have worked out better. Kelly was an excellent coordinator, staying till 11 to make sure all our food was saved and that breakfast was ready that morning. Thank you for making the best day of my life even greater.

We love everything about Sophie’s Gasthaus!! My boyfriend and I have stayed not only once, but twice at Sophie’s. It’s classic charm is captivating and the peaceful downtown location made us feel at ease and at home our entire stay. We chose The Hayloft Suite for our extended getaway. We loved having the ability to cook our own meals in the personal kitchen available! We also found ourselves lounging on the couch to watch our favorite shows. When we wanted to get some sunshine, we lounged by the poolside on the cozy chairs all while relaxing near the well-kept landscaping. When we went out on the town, we would venture to different locations and bars such as the Pour Haus, Arlan’s Market for our grocery needs, and McAdoo’s for a nice date night. We had the most perfect getaway and we give Sophie’s FIVE stars for it’s impeccable hospitality and everything else it has to offer!! We will definitely be back again!

Aaaaaaamazing place to stay. Quiet, romantic and old school with a revamp, we stayed in the Captain's Room. The pool and hot tub were clean and back yard was perfect. Very short walking distance to everything downtown.

We had my daughter's bridal brunch at Sophie's and it could not have been a more perfect space for our event. Upscale yet comfortable enough to sit back and enjoy conversation in the main room. The brunch was served buffet style and seating was in the dining room. Spacious enough to seat 16 mimosa drinking ladies! I would highly recommend Sophie's Gasthaus for your event!

We stayed here awhile back and just loved it!! I continue to recommend this place to others because it’s such a cute spot with a shaded pool and beautiful furnishings. Highly recommend. The food was good and I like having the coffee bar accessible. They also have a game room garage that was a fun addition.

Perfect location with coffee, food, and bars within walking distance. The room (prince) was beautiful and cozy with plenty of snacks, drinks, and high end toiletries (complementary). The house is gorgeous with plenty of places to relax as well as a pool (heated in winter!!). Recommend for a relaxing romantic stay. We loved it and will look to book here in the future ❤️

Unique, cozy and so convenient - we loved every bit of our stay. The main house lures you in with the glowing fire behind the art deco screen. Music in the background transports you into a different world while also enticing you to simply relax with a book or magazine while you soak in the serenity. We stayed in the "Haystack" - over the carriage house. Private, quiet and perfect for us. We walked to fine restaurants, the Brauntex Theatre and antique shops. Sophie's was a gem we lucked upon and hope to visit over and over again.

You cannot say enough nice things about this place. Room was great and charming. The pool just made our hot day. Sitting having coffee was a great start to our day of just being bums. Thoroughly recommend this little gem for a great getaway weekend.

We spent a week in New Braunfels and staying at Sophie’s Gasthaus made our vacation! We rented the room above the garage, and it was like our family had our own private getaway. Plenty of space for us and our larger teenage boys. The pool and backyard exceeded expectations, and we were able to even have a full whiffle ball game one evening! We had to continue to pinch ourselves because it truly felt like we were in our own world while staying at Sophie’s!

What an incredible experience! I'll never look at another lodging as amazing as this place. There's so much charisma here, wow. There's no kitchen in the rooms. But everything is literally within walking distance!! Very clean and well kept.

This place was exceptional! Absolutely beautiful, and the staff was very gracious. Spent New Years here, and now I'd like to go back in the summer to enjoy the pool. It is right downtown but was still very quite. We stayed in the Eibond room in the carriage house. It was just stunning. Will definitely visit again.

I would have no hesitation in coming back to this beautiful guesthouse. The bed and pillows gave me the best sleep I ever had outside of my own bed, the art work around the place is a wonderful idea, it really gives the place an add to the already luxurious feel and there are little bits and pieces around the place just for that extra thoughtfulness. Amanda, the manager, was awesome, filling us in in some places not to miss, we checked them all out and they didn’t disappoint. Thanks for looking after us. I would come back to New Braunfels, just for Sophie’s Gasthaus

Selected SGH for our company-wide (small start up) offsite last week and we do not regret it! From the very beginning Amanda was a huge help, making sure we were lined up with everything we needed for 3 full days of meetings. Our team felt welcomed and comfortable. The facilities are amazing: beautiful art, comfortable beds, plenty of coffee and tea on hand. The formal dining room was the perfect place for us to hold our meetings. The backyard feels a world away from downtown New Braunfels - serene and private. We can’t wait for another team offsite here!

We had a blast at Sophie’s Gasthaus while in NB for a family wedding recently. The Seele suite was spacious and comfortable with nice views of the pool area. The complimentary in-room beverages and snacks were so convenient. The ice maker was perfect for our evening happy hour. We really appreciated the electronic door locks and never had to carry room keys. You can’t beat the location of Sophie’s. Pretty much everything is within walking distance. The downstairs living area and expansive front porch were perfect venues to entertain family and friends. Plenty of parking in a gated and secure area right outside the entrance. One final note, the property was spotless. I really appreciate a clean and well maintained property and Sophie’s delivered. Kelly Garcia is the property manager and she was helpful with room selection and arrival instructions and all the small details that make the difference. We will stay here again the next time NB is our destination.

We recently chose to stay at Sophie’s Gasthaus for a much needed relaxing Moms & Daughters Spring Break Getaway. Based on their wonderful website, beautiful pictures & great reviews we decided to book our stay! Kelly, Sophie’s Gasthaus Coordnator was extremely helpful & pleasant with arranging our stay. This place truly exceeded all expectations combining a modern artistic flare while preserving the historic German feel. Only wish we could’ve stayed longer! The Seele Suite was perfect for our group! We enjoyed all the beautiful accommodations including the oversized porch swing, garage game room, sunning by the pool & our absolute favorite was the breakfast room area! This location is perfect for walking to delicious restaurants such Krause’s Cafe & Huisache Grill. During our stay we visited Natural Bridge Caverns, Gristmill Restaurant, floating the Comal River, The Sophienburg Museum & Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch. Highly recommend staying at Sophie’s Gasthaus for your next visit to New Braunfels.

Sophie’s Gausthaus As many parents have said in the past, “ I need a vacation from my vacation”, that’s exactly what we did. We were searching the internet and stumbled upon Sophie’s Gausthaus. Before making the reservation we had a few questions about the amenities. He called and talked to Amanda who manages the property. She gave him so many amazing ideas for what we should do during our stay. They talked for about 20 minutes and he told me it was like talking to an old friend, that’s one of the things that sealed the deal of us booking Sophie’s. Fast forward a month and we arrive, from the moment we walked in we felt like we were at home. The front room/sitting area took our breath away. It felt like home “without the children”. Haha! The decor is stunning and we loved everything. From enjoying the sanctuary of our cozy room to relaxing by the pool or waking to enjoy a lovely breakfast which is very thoughtfully put together, you are sure to appreciate the attention to detail that this boutique hotel provides. The carriage house provides everything you would need to spend a day relaxing by the pool complete with floats, towels, a bathroom with a spacious shower and even sunblock. If the weather doesn’t allow for pool time there is an array of games to occupy your time. You can play a game of ping pong, try your hand at darts or choose from a variety of board games that are provided. I can’t recall how many times we both said “I love this place, I can’t wait to come back!” The room was impeccable and every attention to detail was crafted for the guests. This was not just some “hotel experience” this was an experience that made you feel welcomed, and at ease, and excited to come back and do it all over again. You should absolutely visit New Braunfels, there is so much to do and Sophie’s Gausthaus elevates your experience of the town.

What a wonderful experience at this bed and breakfast! It is a hidden gem!! Quiet, relaxing, a beautiful pool surrounded by lots of beautiful landscaping, gorgeous upscale accommodations, in walking distance to restaurants, wonderful hostess/innkeeper who is so nice and informed about the area and who is so helpful. Owner very nice. We will be back! Thank you so much for a most enjoyable stay!

My husband and I stayed at in Sophie’s Gasthaus this weekend in the Hayloft suite. We truly did not want to leave!!! The entire property is just breathtaking and so incredibly relaxing. The main house is decorated so beautifully with such classy decor. Every detail is is tended to, including the light switches. Even though we did not stay in the main house, we enjoyed the continental breakfast and coffee there one morning and met some great people in the living area. The suite is over the carriage house and has a full kitchen, bathroom, living, bedroom and dining area, and its own fireplace. The walls and ceiling are painted a deep dark color which is why I think it was so relaxing, just minimal stimulation!! The bed. I’m very particular about beds and pillows when I stay places in this one was probably one of the best! Multiple options for pillows so if you want it soft or more firm, they’ve got you covered. The bed itself was very comfortable and the down duvet was so incredibly cozy on the very cold nights that we stayed!! It was heavenly!!! The kitchen had all that we would need and we made breakfast our second morning there. There’s a large dining space on the front patio that is private to the Hayloft, it was too cold for us on our stay, but look forward to it next time. The bathtub was a huge soaking tub, and the bathroom was just as aesthetically pleasing as everything else. I’m so glad they even thought about a soft closing lid for the toilet. The grounds were very well manicured and can’t wait to use the pool and hot tub one of warms up. Downstairs in the carriage house is a huge game room that my kids are going to love so much when we bring them along in the future. It’s open for all guests, not unique to the Hayloft. I had no clue that New Braunfels had such a special downtown, lots of great restaurants and close to so many things. We visited Gruene one afternoon, which was only about a seven minute drive away. We had lunch at Cooper’s barbecue and it was incredible. Not a big pork chop person, but their pork chop was probably the best I’ve ever had and it was so incredibly tender and juicy. We saved it for our breakfast tacos the next day! Kelly, Sophie’s Gasthaus estate manager, recommended McAdoo’s for our special celebratory dinner. It did not disappoint either!! Can’t wait for our next visit to Sophie’s - considering getting a group of friends together to book the entire place!!

What a beautiful peaceful place to stay. My husband and I got away to celebrate our anniversary at Sophies Gasthaus! This was our first time staying here but definitely not our last. This beautiful home is impeccably clean and has met every need and beyond Our expectation. A perfect synthesis of 1906 architecture and structure and modern internal decor! Not only is it a beautiful place to stay but it was most comfortable too. The bed was plush, the game room was fun, the pool was so relaxing and breakfast in the sunroom was such a nice touch! If you like peaceful beautiful surroundings this is the place to stay!
