Nice place to visit in New Orleans away from the hustle bustle of the French and Canal street where we stayed. There is a street car going there from the canal street. The park is wide spread, a good cafe there and a few hundred years old oak tree. There were some ducks and birds around too. Good place to walk, relax and shoot some images too. If you like nature and greens, perfect place to visit. I went early in the morning and was bright and sunny.

Such a wonderful place with so many great activities all together in a vast space. My wife and kids loved it. The willow trees are beautiful. Can have some nice coffee in the park as well. Take the time out to go here. There is a sculpture garden that really has a nice veriety...very creative.

Nice interesting place. Vast open area, good for family picnic. But not for BBQ or on spot cooking. Lake has Gondola ride, swan paddle boat. Didn't go inside the building.

Gorgeous city park, free to visit. If you're coming from anywhere north it's worth a visit as the normal tree's are very different than public parks you're used to. Seems to be pretty well maintained. Restaurant's within walking distance, one inside the park. Very close to the art museum.

We took the trolley from French Quarter (Canal) to City Park, and it was a lovely break from the bustle of French Quarter. This public park is busy, but large enough to feel quiet and relaxing. We definitely did not get time to see everything on our list, but we enjoyed the art museum, swan boats, and historic oak forest a lot. The art museum is amazing ($20 ticket for non-LA residents) and much larger than it looks from outside. The Historic Oak Forest is gorgeous and has lots of fantastic photo opportunities. This park will be on our must-do list if we come back to New Orleans, and we'll be hitting the sculpture garden and bike rental first.

I can't speak highly enough of the city park, I was truly blown away by all the wonderful, fun, and amazing things to do. There is something for everyone, not to mention many beautiful sites. I easily could have spent all day there

Beautiful place to walk and take in the beautiful sights! Just a note of caution to other tourists: Had someone local yell and cuss me out when he thought he was in the background of my photo, although he wasnโ€™t, and he just cussed even more when I tried to apologize and explainโ€ฆ he got ugly fast, but fortunately walked off. Other than that, the park seemed very pleasant and safe to walk through solo. Highly recommend checking out the sculpture gardens along with everything else here, you can spend an entire day and then some!

One of the most beautiful parks in the world!!! Interesting factโ€ฆCity Park was once one large plantation. It is 50% larger than Central Park in New York. It is amazing. You can take gorgeous photos here for sure! There is so much fun to be had hereโ€ฆplus you can get beignets! By far one of the MUST experiences when in New Orleans!

Very nice City Park. Like most of the New Orleans tourist areas, it is kept very clean and manicured. We were surprised of the diversity of water fowl this time of year. We have never seen the Crested Ducks before, even though having lived and traveled all along the East Coast. They are very territorial, and a pair spent all of their time chasing and violently biting any other birds that came within 5 yards of them in the lake.

My New Orleans City Park review is (shockingly) for the actual New Orleans City Park. I will review businesses within the park separately as applicable. The park is HUGE, so we did not see it all. However, we were in the area of the Singing Oak and the lake. The park was lovely, with a variety of plant life. The walking/biking trail was clean and fairly well maintained. There was one low spot between the road leading to the Art Museum and the trail that had water over it. It has rained every day this week, so that my be unusual? We saw one piece of trash. People were walking/biking/skateboarding on the path. People were friendly. Wheeled travelers kept to the right (as instructed by signage) and there was no drama or issues that we saw. The whole experience was pleasant (except for when I thought I could paddle a swan boat for an hour, but that was my fault and a different review. ๐Ÿ˜

Kids had an excellent time. There is a small amusement park here called carousel park. Very affordable. ~$20/person. My kids absolutely loved it! Several fun rides very similar to a stationary state fair, except so the rides were included with admission. I do wish New Orleans took better care of the place and maybe subsidized it considering a big part of the park is city owned (outside the amusement park). It looks a tad aged, but even so it was totally worth the visit. They should advertise it more and clean up and make it a better known tourist attraction. Seems like a missed opportunity for New Orleans. The French quarters was fun and interesting for adults, but this place was a far better child friendly experience. They even had an additional โ€œstory parkโ€ that cost a little extra but is for toddlers and a little older who need parents to ride the rides. This is more jungle gym climbing and small cute houses that you read short stories at. This place could do very well if hailed as a tourist hotspot for people with children. Come on New Orleans, get it together. Itโ€™s an excellent investment that could aid in excellent returns.

Wow! What an incredibly beautiful place. From the giant Live oaks to the amazing free Sculpture Garden... In my opinion, City Park was even more fun than the French quarter. I would recommend getting there on the early side as It is much more quiet and peaceful. I am so impressed with the huge Sculpture Garden. Very creative, countless angles to see the beautiful sculptures. Parking is free, there are public restrooms, there is a playground for children, and of course if you enjoy the touristy deliciousness that is beignets from Cafe Du Monde, the service was fast and friendly and there was plenty of outdoor seating.

One of my favorite places in the city. It's not only beautiful, clean and easy to get to but very peaceful. I love that it's not just a park but there are so many things to enjoy including a restaurant, museums, both botanical & sculpture gardens, paddle boats, golf, a cute train that goes around the park for the kids, walking paths, a pond, the beautiful trees and so much more.

What's not to like? You got the amazing oaks and a botanical garden that has beautiful flowers. There's a play area for the kids and a science museum. We even finished the day off with beignets. It's my first time going and I can definitely see why they had people running and bicycling as well. Plenty of parking made the trip easy as well.

We went for Christmas lights celebration and it was a good time. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting during the Christmas season. The rides were very kid friendly and there were people walking around with pets as well. They served drinks in the botanical garden.

It was a beautiful day around 80 degrees and breezy - low humidity. We walked around and enjoyed the trees, wild flowers and the activity (family picnics). The Museum was busy although we didn't go there that day. City Park is a well needed break from the hustle bustle of the city.

We went to the botanical gardens here and it was so nice and peaceful! It was surpringly bigger than I thought it would be and there were many different sections to explore. We saw the main botanical garden, vegetable garden, japanese garden, etc. And this is definitely a nice place to take pictures. The entrance fee when I went was $10.

Spent a few hours here and went into the sculpture park which had a small $5 fee but was definitely worth it. A lot of interesting spaces and things to see. Would love to spend a whole day here sometime. If you get a bike, it would be really easy to see the whole park. Loved it. Also the swinging benches are so much fun.

The sculpture park was excellent. I enjoyed the variety and quality of items and they were in a very beautiful botanical setting. The path next to the pond was interesting, because it started at pond level and actually went below the water level as if it were a levee.

Very nice place. Take a tram and go to the City Park and you will get a real pleasure. You can just walk or sit in the shade on a hot day. You can visit the art museum, you can ride a catamaran or a boat on the lake. First off all it is a beautiful and great place to spend a weekend with family and friends. Definitely recommended ๐Ÿ‘Œ

One of the cleanest and most peaceful parks. Given the size, they managed space well to include swan boat rides, accommodate runners, cyclists, lots of picnics, and good driving lanes for easy parking and pickup!! Some super scenic views and a great place to go for sunset watching before dinner!

Magically, beautiful scenery, highly recommend a walk through City Park. With it's history, and a very, very old tree, its a must-see. There is also a Cafe du Monde on the grounds, for coffee and beignets (you have to try these!) If you're travelling from Canal Street, the no.48 Streetcar takes you straight to it (says City Park on the front) it's $1.25 a ride or you can download Les Pass and purchase tram tickets

Truly wonderfully redone since a hurricane Katrina. The work done by so many volunteers and charitable organizations to make City Park a magnificently well-maintained and enjoyable place to be is breathtaking. Besides the lack of morning call, this place is fantastic. The two many golf courses are great places to beat the summer heat (they have air conditioning in the form of misters), and the and the sculpture garden is a nice socially distanced place to appreciate some art. If you've read that getting outside it's good for your brain (it is), this is an excellent place to do it.

What a Beautiful sprawling Park! Enormous wide, towering oak trees with Spanish moss surround the peaceful lake. Tons of wildlife. We saw ducks, turtles, geese, an enormous swan and even enjoyed a paddle boat ride on a swan paddle boat.
