The most miserable experience I've ever had at a gym. My wife and I have been members of this Equinox for almost a year now. Having known for some time that we weren't going to renew, we notified the club months in advance so as not to receive any surprise charges at the end (apparently that wasn't enough). Despite countless emails and attempts to get in touch with Cecilia, the assistant manager, i had an extremely difficult time getting in contact with her. When I was finally able to find her at the gym, the conversation that proceeded was incredibly irrational and condescending. I was told that because only "I" (the account holder and person that pays for both accounts) had contacted her from my personal email and not my wife's email, only mine would be cancelled and my wife's would be subject to renewing for another 45 days! Are you joking??....I've been telling you guys for months about this and I'm not cancelling anything....simply not renewing my plan. For a gym that prides itself on customer service and being "high end," the least you could do is not take several days to answer an email and then try to nab us on a technicality. When I asked if I could speak to the regional manager about this she told me it wasn't necessary, but as I insisted, she said they'll email me back at their "convenience." She then told me she'd see what she could do....as if she was doing us an epic favor....but then proceeded to charge my credit card 5 min. after my wife emailed her, despite my wife saying that she did not approve of the charges. Wow! How kind of you. Good luck if you ever plan on not renewing your membership here

Honestly, I like the gym overall but there are a few issues I have with it. First, the hours. For $250 a month I should be able to work out whenever I want (or at least past 7 on a Sunday) The second problem is that it gets SUPER packed. Why not get rid of the coffee table and couches that no one uses and put in a few more benches? Seriously, there’s like 6 dumbbell benches in the whole gym, and only 2 lat pull-down machines. Also, there’s a ton of treadmills but a few of them seem perpetually broken or unplugged, which is frustrating. That said, I like the class variety, steam room, and kiehls products. The class instructors are generally very friendly and knowledgeable. I just wish I didn’t have to wait 15 minutes for a bench every time I want to lift after work.

Equinox cancelled my account without a call or email when I switched employers. After YEARS of membership, they tried to force me into a new $290 rate instead of the $260 I had signed up at. I have always been an equinox evangelist and they basically said “we don’t care. best wishes.” Cancelled my membership and will go elsewhere. Terrible customer service from start to finish.

Took a while to get a bench, but otherwise it was a decent experience as this one. Equinox should consider staying open until 11pm.

I'm starting to love it! Actually, I want to add that I've had an amazing experience at Equinox. Ruby was amazing when I first signed up. She showed me around and matched me to the most amazing trainer, Brennen. I'm pretty sure I'm enjoying Gramercy because of him. He crafted the perfect routine for me. After only two months, I see noticeable results.

This equinox is one of the more luxurious of the clubs in nyc. The design from the lobby, stairs, locker room and workout floor is super sleek. It's also probably one of the biggest ones- there's two floors full of equipment. I was disappointed however that they didn't have the foot rest used for single leg split squats. Every other equinox has them and it's a vital part of my leg day routine. If they add one or two of those, this would definitely be one of the most perfect and complete gyms.

It’s a good location with a decent amount of equipment, but it is always absolutely packed. Workouts take twice as long at the most popular times (good luck getting a bench at 6pm). With the amount you pay as a member, there should really be extended hours to alleviate this overcrowding.

I've been an Equinox member since 2009 and have tried out several of their gyms. I really like this location, and it just happens to be a block away from my apartment. It has everything I need, and can usually get to the equipment I'm looking for without having to wait (I avoid the extremely busy hours). The classes are great and the staff is friendly and helpful. The layout might seem strange to some but the open space makes sense for my exercises. Would recommend this location, and Equinox in general.

One of my favorite Equinox locations in New York. Multiple floors, plenty of equipment, and a strong steam room. I would give it 5 stars if it included more amenities (i.e. sauna).

Nice, but over priced, and the CEO of the parent company is a hateful Trump backer

There are so many better Equinox locations in the city. This one is tiny and cleaning ladies roam every minute with their vacuums so annoying

Good location. Very close to the train station. Maintenance and front desk go up and beyond in making sure the gyms runs smoothly. If you go, there make sure to thank maintenance. They work really hard to keep the gym clean and equipment functioning. It also has a variety of gym equipment and group fitness classes (pre-pandemic)

Nice as usual, steam room is so tiny though! Standard machines, lots of stretching space, bigger than average.

Nice facilities but it gets super busy and closes very early. Makes it hard to justify the price if you work longer / less predictable hours

I personally think that this is the best laid out equinox in the area for lifting, over Bond St and Flatiron.

I signed up and made and confirmed appt with one of the workers, who asked me to come in earlier and I did. When I showed up, they were confused as he wasn't even working that day. I waited 20mins for someone else to show me around, and def is small, not that clean and just was not impressed. I did not sign up and chose the Nomad location which I had a completely opposite and much better experience.

If you're visiting NYC, don't bother asking about days rates...they don't offer it.

my old coworker belonged to this gym for years and convinced me to try it. I had a pretty bad experience. Ridiculously expensive and the customer service sucks. Gyms should not be THIS expensive.

👍👍 It is an amazing stay for people that really just need a bed for the night in the middle of New York. We stayed for a week and first of all the location is unbeatable.
