As an active member, “gym rat”, as a lifestyle & way of life to stay fit & healthy for many years, I, like others, are highly dissatisfied with NYSC, Queens NY because Mgmt has eliminated essential membership services causing deteriorating conditions for its gym & more importantly its revenue source, its memberships! I’d not recommend this gym simply because its new owner & Mgmt implemented such policies/practices as “Less is More”; that is, less services for its members & more money for Mgmt. Without prior notice, Mgmt. removed such essential services as 1) paper towel dispenser; 2) paper towels to wipe our hands; 3) Kleenex to blow our nose; 4) disinfectant spray dispenser; 5) paper towels to wipe/clean equip before & after use; 6) cloth towels to use during daily workouts even during showers! 7) reduced & limited # of gym classes!; (8) cleanliness of gym equipment remains dirty after use as a result of eliminating disinfectant sprays & paper towels to wipe machines after use. Instead, Mgmt replaced them with limited numbers of dispensers for Purcell wipes (2) & hand (1) located in basement & first floors plus one wipe & one hand dispensers on the third floor, all of which tend to be depleted & unavailable for easy & convenient use to wipe off equipment. Further, Mgmt improperly shifted their chief responsibility to clean equipments to members. As a result, virtually all equipment tend NOT to be free of bacteria & dirt since the task of cleaning equipment is abandoned & left undone by Mgmt! Tip: carry out your due diligence research, I’d suggest checking out Push Gym, where many former NYSC members have gone. Chief aim to get More for your money rather than getting Less services for your membership at a service-driven gym, exclusive to the NYSC Mgmt. & its disingenuous practices! OMG, NYSC has now become an unhealthy gym as roaches infest & roam freely!

The people are nice the only thing that I do not like about the gym is that it is dirty, There is no air on and the stench of mildew is revolting to the nose. The bathrooms are never cleaned and the machines have a lot of dust and dirt on them. I know they leave out a bottle of sanitizer for the patrons to clean their machines they used but the monthly fee is so much you think they would get someone to clean the machines that work there.

Horrible facility and definitely scamming their members out of fees. I tried to cancel on numerous occasions and it kept billing to my account. Eventually I got so fed up I reached out to management. I spoke to Stacey Sergio and explained I would be complaining that they refused to properly cancel my membership and kept charging fees. The response was so snarky and she said that I could feel free to complain to whoever but that they would still be processing whatever fees they felt like. This was on top of the fact that their facilities are dark, outdated, and dirty. Absolutely horrible and avoid at all costs.

DO NOT join this gym. If I could give 0 stars I would. The absolute worst gym in nyc. They are a bunch of thieves and liars. They continued to charge my credit card while the gym is closed and do not issue you a credit and continue to charge after you’ve cancelled. These people are the worst of the worst and you must avoid this place at all costs. Not to mention this gym is also trash. It is filthy and their equipment sucks.

DO NOT go here unless you want your money stolen. Made many attempts to cancel my membership since COVID started. Still continued charging monthly fees even when the gym was CLOSED until I called my bank mid summer. After two months of being able to breathe they are STEALING money from my pockets once again. Strongly advise anyone looking for a gym to NOT go here, one of the worse and most regretful decisions you'll ever make.

The worst experience talking to manager there (Stacy Sergio)! I called to unfreeze my account in middle of march with a front desk staff to unfreeze beginning Aptil, and asked if theres anything else I needed to do, the staff says nothing and Im good to go. Next day I got charged and called them, spoke with Stacy. She insisted that her staff told me the breakdown of the reason why im charged is for the remainder of march (which was never explained to me I will be charged) and says she trust her staff because she trained them herself!! So she pretty much bypassed my reasoning and told me to go to yoga class to destress my situation!! I will be cancelling my membership here as I been a member for a long time and this is my first time freezing my account and have to talk to a manager there! Was the worst and stressful experience ever!! Will not return again. Be aware when dealing with manager like her because you will not get the result you wanted.

I signed up with a corporate discount to NYSC pre-covid and it was great. However, once covid started the business became extremely shady and started increasing fees with no communication and no way to escalate. I've tried to cancel my membership since November but the company will make any excuse they can to not cancel the membership. As a result, I'm still fighting the charges monthly with the help of my credit card company. I will be making an official complaint to BBB in hopes that they will be able to help me cancel my account.

I initially filled out a form to cancel my membership online which they said would take a while to process, but I went in the literal next day and told them I wanted to keep my membership and didn’t want to cancel anymore. The girl at the front desk told me that it wasn’t an issue and that she would make a note on my account to keep it open and I proceeded with my work out. I now checked my app and my membership has been canceled and they want me to repay the annual and sign up fees even though I had asked to keep my membership in the first place. I had my membership for almost 3 years and now have to find a new gym.

Worst NYSC gym, the manager is unprofessional and should be put out of her job for rudeness. She boisterous and make it to the point to embarrass the guest. My friend and I were denied access because she can’t simply understand the check-in process of GYMPass.

I recently canceled my membership solely on the lack of cleanliness at this gym. Maybe it’s me but I don’t like getting on the treadmill or any machine & there’s sweat stains all over it & there’s never any sanitizer/wipes to clean machines. So now I’m left with bringing in my own hand sani & a couple napkins to wipe down machines before & after. I brought this up to the front desk plenty of times asking for cleaning supplies & they just say “we are waiting on a new shipment” which often would take 3-4 days. How about this… how about ordering your supplies in advance so you never run out! It’s disgusting how dirty this gym is. The equipment is old as dirt there’s dust, sweat stains & hair all over them, the paint on the walls is old & dirty & the gym is dark & grimy looking & looks like it hasn’t been updated since it first opened. For an extra 3min ride there’s Life on 154th, Push fitness in whitepoint or Powerhouse down franny lou. Honestly I could care less what they have to say at this point. I pleaded with them for a year to keep on top of the cleanliness of the equipment & it was always an “ehh maybe tomorrow we’ll have supplies” It’s like the staff knows this gym is gross too & they’re so whatever & unfazed by all of it at this point. *UPDATE - Thanks for the automated response NYSC! Shows how much you care. Maybe use the high annual fees that are suppose to be used for the gym to actually update the gym!? And hire a better cleaning crew.

One of the workers, Joseph Abicca, “assisted” in starting my membership at this gym on July 26th. He said I would get a promotional deal for a month and would not be charged anything else if I cancelled my membership by August 15th. I signed up with a friend of mine who was told the exact same thing. My friend and I both came on August 13th to cancel our memberships and I confirmed with Joseph to make sure I didn’t need to do anything else before I left. On the 16th I was charged an annual fee of $73.14. I called them to ask about this charge and they claimed that everyone was going to be charged an annual fee, even though I had cancelled my membership on time. Joseph picked up and was not helpful whatsoever, giving an explanation that made no sense. I called the Forrest hills and rego center nysc to confirm whether I had to pay this annual fee even though I cancelled my membership and they confirmed that if I had cancelled my membership on time, I shouldn’t be billed this annual fee. An employee from Forrest hills nysc checked my account and told me my account was actually not cancelled. I went back to the Whitestone nysc today to confront them and three employees including Joseph took part in our conversation. As we explained our confusion to one employee, the other two including Joseph whispered rude comments in the background. I was told my membership cancellation will take until September 1st to process and Joseph claimed to have told us about the annual fee before signing up. If it was just me, I might’ve thought I just missed it, but there were two other friends of mine with me at the time who also never heard him mention such a thing, but of course the other employees there sided with Joseph. I’m still going to try to get my money back, but if it doesn’t happen, I’ll consider it a donation to this desperate, dying gym. Please stop scamming people in the future.

The gym itself is fine, the employees are nice, although the machines seem old and do make noises at times. 2 stars off because they NEVER have enough wet wipes. I usually see 4 wet wipe stations on the first floor but only 1 will be filled, 2 if it’s a good day… nowadays, I only see 2 and only 1 is filled. More than half of the people who use these machines do not wipe them down and I don’t blame them. It’s quite annoying to have to walk all the way across the room every. single. time. We all pay enough to at least get some wet wipes.

Would leave absolutely no stars if I could. I put my account on hold for the month of June and then they proceeded to charge me TWICE for that month. Customer service was completely unhelpful and dismissive. I’m trying to cancel my membership but they’re making it very difficult for me. Be prepared to also be disappointed by the equipment and cleanliness of the gym too.

I’m not one to write bad reviews, but for this gym I have to. The gym is not run properly. The gym itself is not clean. Hair, dirt, and dust all over the equipment and floors. The machines are old and not the greatest. I had so many issues with the fees and billing it was ridiculous. Overall it wasn’t a great experience.

They are big liar. They are try just still the money. Should be ny sports club close soon. The manager at the white stone ny sports club is really unprofessional and mean. I'm not sure if she's being racist or she doesn't like her job. I paid a visit with my wife once because she wanted to try out the gym and I asked the manager if she could try out one day and she said yes so we gave her an English name because real name was hard to pronounce. so now she put both of those name under my account as two person and billed me for couple month and i tried to go in the club recently manager stops me and told me to pay so i explained and she said she would clear it and i went back again and she totally forgot about it and told me to pay again to get in the club . She's just trying to rob customers or has a memory issue or something . I don't mind paying for it if they told me in the first place to try out for oneday . They need to stop robbing people. I will continue to file a complaint to headquarters until this is solved.

Would like to give a zero or negative star.. seriously.. everything else is secondary but if about management specifically female manager Stacy Sergio, don’t trust her. The previous review indicating her name was prolly written to give her a good name and such but hey if all talks about false fees and rude tone of voice, give props to the managers other than Stacy.. you put deceiving words about a gym member, who cares if you try to please the other clients at the gym using $5? We reap what we sow. Seriously

Been going here for about 10 years for the location convenience. But the facilities are dirty and the front desk are inexperienced and rude. My membership allows me to bring an unlimited guest and new girl Tatiana couldn’t grasp the concept and made my guest turn around and go home. There wasn’t even a manager on-site to speak with. Truly unprofessional

I don’t usually come to this gym but I had a day off and they have a parking lot. I went in and the manager Stacey was super welcoming and she introduced me to Tomy one of the fitness managers. They made me feel comfortable, showed me where everything was and I got a good workout. The place was very clean as well which was great.

I love this gym. The staff has been nothing but respectful to me. I've been coming here about 4 yrs.... prepandemic - the guys locker and sauna would be clean. Today the sauna is grimmy and the guys locker room is dirty, a good bleaching would go a long way. Thats is all. Update - Sauna room is clean now and well upkept hope it stays that way, I love this gym.

Extremely sleazy business, they will do everything in their power to stop you from cancelling your membership, from losing paperwork to straight up lying. Membership includes long winded VERY anti-consumer policy. With late fees, cancellation fees and other hidden fees. Avoid at all cost

They charge both annual fee and monthly fee. I don't understand why but that's the policy. I paid for the membership but they didn't tell anything about app or membership information. The air was somewhat stuffy and not much ventilation so it's smelly. There are variety of equipments and in good condition.

I’ve been a member since 2019 and had some ups and downs with the gym as I move and go to another establishment for my fitness. Pros: With being on an alumni rate of pay and convenience in location and parking, it was my go to gym for the time living in Whitestone. You have access to a decent amount of equipment and if you’re familiar with a gym setting, you have enough options to add a variety to your workouts. It’s probably the cheapest gym in this area. Front desk gets a lot of hate, but they do their job and never had immediate issues with them or management personally. If you come here just to workout, it’s not that bad. Cons: - it’s rare if someone re racks or cleans items nor is it established by staff to do so. You will find items scattered all over and sometimes in the same place for days without it being touched or properly returned. Expect to return someone else’s weights or equipment often. - These maintenance people have had to unclog these toilets so often because of people purposely stuff them with tissues. Give those people a shoutout, the amount they have to clean up after people is disrespectful tbh. - weekday and weekend front desk are never on the same page, it’s like talking to two different establishments - There’s been a few times I’ve witnessed people smoke bud in here. Wild. - Keep check if a card is continuing payments or not. If expired, no one will tell you most of the time and you’ll have to pay what is accumulated as your account is still active. - I’ve had my locker busted open on me on one occasion. Nothing was done and there’s not much they can do. This isn’t common but I don’t bring anything of value in here unless it’s on me. Get a good lock. - Peak hours are very hectic. 3-5 pm when the high school students get out is pretty rough. If you like space, I suggest off peak hours. - Equipment runs down or is out pretty often. Turn around on fixing it isn’t long, but just don’t expect most things to keep up. - if you like new gym equipment, this is not your gym. Some items in here are probably older than me. If it works, it works, but don’t expect anything too new or fancy like in most other gyms.

Have been going for months without issue, all of the sudden walking in the same desk worker who I have seen on multiple occasions stopped me and rejected me due to my apparel saying I couldn’t lift in my footwear although I have come across them in said footwear both on the floor and entering the gym on countless occasions. Was rude about it when speaking to me, when I questioned her about it she simply replied “well not while im here”.

I've been a member since 2017. In November 2022, I placed my membership on hold and when I returned in March, I was told my account was closed. My account was closed while my membership was on hold over $15. I immediately paid it, but then there was another problem. I was told I couldn't be reinstated with the same membership I had. Then I was told it was fixed. Unfortunately, I got real sick and took a month off to find out my membership was closed. In other words, it was never fixed how I was told. The gym never notified me by phone or email about my account status. I've gone in person and called my local gym , and no one is giving me an answer.
