The view of the American Falls from Luna Island is truly amazing. When you stand on Luna Island, you get to see the falls from a special spot. The water falling down is incredibly powerful and beautiful. It's a breathtaking sight that makes you appreciate the force of nature. Luna Island gets you really close to the falls, so you can feel the mist on your face. It's a great place to take pictures too. While the view from Luna Island is not as wide as other places, it still shows you a great part of the American Falls. It's definitely worth a visit to see the impressive power and beauty of this famous landmark.

Very beautiful is what I can say. Especially at night. The illumination makes it even better. You can feel the power of water standing next to it. And best part is it’s free.

Niagara falls American side is worth visiting. Canadian side is more beautiful though. American falls is a different experience altogether. The trolley that takes you all around the Niagara falls state park is worth a ride. One could get off at the spots one likes and then get on the trolley again. The park is huge and beautiful.

Amazing view from canada side. Stand right in front and you will surely see a rainbow peeping through falls. Although, horseshoe falls looks better than American falls, its still magnificant and beautiful.

Breathtaking! Enormous flow of water - the water even looks like it has green streaks coming down if you're looking from the Canadian side. Viewing from Canada, there's a walkway along the brim that you can walk all the way from the Horseshoe Falls viewing point to the American Falls viewing point. Going thru customs was okay - just a lot of questions - took about an hour to cross the bridge at 5:00PM.

Visited in Springtime & it was still freezing and wet. And no boat ride available. Still, we crossed the Rainbow Bridge into Canada and got a distant view of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls before we had to head back as my extremities were going numb! I’m sure it’s better in the Summer!

It's amazing to see these galls from the Canadian side of Niagara. Night is just as beautiful with it lit up. Horseshoe Falls is more amazing in my opinion

This is true natural gem of this region and whole America. The American Falls is the second-largest of the three waterfalls that together are known as Niagara Falls on the Niagara River along the Canada–U.S. border. Unlike the much larger Horseshoe Falls, of which approximately 90% is in Ontario, Canada and 10% in the U.S. state of New York, the American Falls is entirely within the United States.

If you see them lit at night, you will fall in love with the place and the view. (Original) La vista de las Cataratas americanas desde Canadá es impresionante, da una gran idea de lo imponente que es el agua y más aún la madre naturaleza. Awesome waterfall! Enjoy watching it from the top and from the Maid of the Mist! Especially the Maid of the Mist, and the tower you visit afterward. Truly our American Falls is beautiful!

(Translated by Google) Even the American Falls have their own charm and are a real eye-catcher, especially at night. The rugged rock formations at the foot of the American Falls are so unlike the Horseshoe Falls. Between the falls is the nesting place of hundreds of pairs of birds. Everything very worth seeing. Alles sehr sehenswert.

The US falls don't get enough credit because everyone wants to focus on the horseshoe portion but it's truly amazing. One of the seven wonders of the world!

This is the absolute best spot in the entire park. If you want to feel the true power of the park, this is the spot! It's like 3/4 of a mile from the parking lot, so prepare to walk :)

Greenery is beautiful with walking options along the falls side. Falls view is good too but don’t compare it with Canada as both places have different charm - one is green, other one is party place. Only challenge is food options which are expensive and less variety.

Ah yes, the smaller of the falls at Niagara. The only difference is this waterfall is on the USA side, separated by the borders. When we were walking south on the path walk, we saw the American fall first, before the other bigger one. The falls are always spectacular to see, around all 4 seasons of the year. I can't count the number of times I have visited here with my family and partner. It's free to view. It is open 24 hours, and on less busier times such as midnight or early morning you could park alongside the sideway too. Plus, during the winter the falls are all illuminated with various light colours and shows. During the summer there are firework shows on holidays such as Canada Day. It is an enjoyable spot, both for Canadian citizens, and American citizens. Even tourists outside of North America will enjoy viewing the falls, as well as the fun street and other tourist activities nearby. I highly recommend seeing this landmark if you ever plan to visit Niagara, whether on the American side, or Canadian side!

Went there over Christmas break, and it was awesome. Because it was winter, we were not able to ride the maid of the mist, so that was a bit sad. The restaurants around there were great. There was a lot of ice due to the fact that it was winter. I'm thinking about going in the summer to ride the maid of the mist.

The smaller of the two falls. It is on the American side but the best view is from Canada.

The American Falls, situated in Niagara, New York, is a spectacle that belongs to the collective memory of the Niagara Falls experience, distinct yet inseparable from the power of the entire cascade. Even if it's been decades since your last visit at the tender age of six, the falls remain timeless, etching their grandeur into the minds of visitors young and old. As the smaller sibling to the Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls has its own unique beauty and charisma. The force of the water tumbling over the rocks creates a display of natural strength and grace. The sound of the falls, the cool mist on your face, and the sight of the rushing water all combine to form a sensory experience that connects past to present. Returning as an adult, you would see it with new eyes, and appreciate layers of its majesty you might not have noticed as a child. Whether bathed in sunlight or illuminated by night, the American Falls is a landmark that showcases the enduring allure of nature’s wonders. It is a piece of the natural mosaic that makes Niagara revered worldwide, beckoning visitors to return, regardless of the passage of time.

This was our first time going to the falls. The view is amazing. I do recommend buying tickets for features like the boat ride in advance. No ticket needed to walk along the River and watch the falls on the American side. Truly a historic and monumental sight to see.

An obviously beautiful and breathtaking place to visit. If you haven't been here, I'd definitely recommend it, as the power of the falls from any distance is just staggering.

A rainy day and we spent few hours there. No matter what ever crowded place it is after all these view and nature you feel relaxed. Be gentle and kind, everyone is there to spend quality time. Enjoy the view and nature cheers

I stayed on the American side of the Falls which gives a decent view. Viewing from Luna Island or Prospect Point is best if staying on the U.S. side, as you can get wider views of the falls. On a sunny day, you can definitely see rainbows. You can also get close enough to Bridal Veil Falls to get some of the mist on you.

In my opinion, as an American, the Canadian falls were better especially viewing from the Canadian side. Very cool falls to see!

  • 5/5 James W. 6 years ago on Google
These falls are the more impressive of the two in the winter because of the massive buildup of snow and ice on the rocks at the bottom of the falls. It makes for some spectacular scenery that is easier to see than the horseshoe falls because of closed view points. Probably best to see them from the Canadian side, but you can get a great view from either.

Just as beautiful as horseshoe falls just shaped differently. Prepare for lots of people. There's always swarms. Going in winter will reduce the amount of visitors. Wear comfy shoes and remember the sunscreen.

Niagara Falls water comes from the United States and arrives in Canada. It's as simple as that.

  • 5/5 Ken and Alicia L. 5 years ago on Google
Although often compared unfavorably to the larger Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls are spectacular in their own right and well worth a close-up look. Highly recommended to also view the falls at night. Certainly make sure to visit the brink of the falls.

One of the most amazing places you'll ever see!! Just the shear amount of clear, fresh water going over the edge of this every second is mind-blowing and mesmerizing! Very beautiful and easy to get a great view of from both countries. TIP: Bring hats and raincoats - mist from the falls is always blowing over.

It is always beautiful to see both jumps (the American and the Canadian), although this is much better and more spectacular for me. The sound, the water spray, the sun, the thousands of people who walk there ... an unforgettable place and very well prepared for the visit. I visited it in the fall of 2017.
