There’s a small- medium sized parking lot with free parking. Usually this place is not too busy. You can walk a short distance towards a boardwalk along the lake. There is a lookout on the boardwalk. The boardwalk leads to some short trails along the lake. This is a great place to go for a quick stroll and catch up with a friend you haven’t see in a while.

Mel Swart Lake Gibson Conservation Park is a nice park to explore and walk the various trails surrounding Lake Gibson. It's a good place to take your dog out on a walk with you. The main attraction of this park has to be the beautiful boardwalk along the lake. There are places you can sit down and relax along your journey. You can also find a large hill in the middle of the park that if you climb it, you can see a nice overview of the area. It's definitely worth the trip to see it.

A beautiful spot to stop at! The park has several walking trails both through the woods and through the park. It also has a lovely pier and lookout that provides a stunning view of Lake Gibson. You can even fish here!

Small park with a nice little boardwalk along small part of waters edge with viewing tower. Would be a good spot for children and to walk dogs. Was able to spot Canada Geese and Swans out on the lake. Free parking available.

A beautiful little park with a chance to get some great sunset photos on the boardwalk. The only improvement is to try making it bigger! It’s a pretty short walk for me and my dogs

A cute park near the water. There is a circular trail that takes you past the lake. A few areas suitable for picnics. A parking lot on premise.

Took my kids here for a walk and we had a blast! I love the variety of trails. You can walk along the boardwalk which had a little lookout, then walk into more wooded area and climb some of the big trees and then finally, play on the big hill. Perfect place to bring littles and keep them interested throughout the walk!

I lived in the Niagara Region forever and only recently found this amazing place. The walks on the trails are incredibly relaxing. I absolutely love the boardwalk over the lake. Not many people here which leaves natures beauty unspoiled. Decent amount of parking and easy access from the highway.

Beautiful place for a walk. We spotted a swan family, a large turtle, several birds and maybe even an eagle! Very quiet on a Saturday afternoon.

Excellent park. Not large for a conservation area. There is a boardwalk which is certainly the highlight. No picnic tables but there are plenty of seats around. Bring a picnic cloth!

I live within walking distance of this place and I always come here for something to do. There's a nice dock for fishing or other things and a large hill which is great for looking over the park. There are some mtn bike trails here, none of them are good, so I mostly just stick to riding on the gravel or the hill.

A set of very nice walking trails with a waterfront boardwalk and a bird viewing platform. Trails are packed gravel and terrain is not too challenging. Dogwood trees were flowering nicely and some flowers had come up in the garden. It was a nice walk with the dog on a beautiful day.

Amazing place to walk and relax. Have a quite lunch or coffee under the shade admiring natures beauty. Not too many people around but a nice spot to read a book or ponder over the past week and plan the next week. Looking forward to visiting it again.

A small park with an amazing boardwalk. An observation tower makes it a great site for watching migratory birds in season. There is usually a pair of swans in residence.

I lived rather close to this park during my University days and it was always a peaceful and gorgeous piece of sanctuary from the hustle bustle of work and studying. It has a nice little variety of paths, an absolutely stunning boardwalk, and periodic sitting space to enjoy across the park. It also is rather popular spot with dogs but the park and maintenance around the park do a good job keeping it clean. While relatively small in the grand scheme of parks I would highly recommend coming here in the early morning to watch the sun rise from the little tower that's on the boardwalk and just hear the world wake up around you.

  • 4/5 Robyn B. 4 years ago on Google
It's a nice place to walk along the water. However, it's a pretty short walk! I bundled expecting to be able to walk my dogs for an hour or more but the route is about 35 minutes maximum. Ample parking. Though the boardwalks aren't maintained in winter, they were still very useable on the day I went.

I feel like this place has such good potential to be really beautiful. But you can tell it's neglected, which is so sad. The walkway over the water is so ugly. It's not taken care of. There's grafitti and such all over. Makes me not want to visit and it's such a shame since it's right by my house.

Stopped by here on the way back to the US to grab a few geocachers. This is a nice little park with a great view, especially during the sunset (I got some great photos here). Plenty of parking and a few zigzagging trails available. Along with a wooden walkway that goes over part of the lake. Definitely recommend a stop here!

I often take my dog's there. Occasionally we get a chance to take them off their leads and let them run free. Unfortunately there is a large tick population there. Otherwise one of our favorite places to go with the puppies. Just make sure you check yourself and your pets for ticks. I also like to take a plastic bag just to try and help keep this area garbage free. The boardwalk is often found to have people fishing. There's also an opportunity to see the swan couple that live on the lake. If you go later in the day towards dusk you might even see some deer.

A nice park beside a beautiful lake in Thorold and very close to St Catherines. There are many benches if you wish to take a breath while the kids are running around. Park was pretty clean and there is parking available for probably 30 cars or so which seems sufficient.
