    This hotel was a mixed experience for us - some good and some bad. We stayed there for a total of nine nights. As for the positive experiences - the hotel is located in a relatively quiet area with good and easy access to major attractions and public transportation options. The staff for the most part are also very responsive and attentive - although I had an unpleasant experience when I dined alone (served food without utensils, condiments, no table setting, had to get up and ask for these items although several servers were available in a dining area that only included me and one other person at the time - who received all of these aforementioned items immediately and without asking I noticed). However, when my wife and I dined together there everything was fine. The breakfast buffet is excellent for the most part although a little pricey and there was no easy way to order a la carte with a mixed party where one of you may want the buffet and the other just wants coffee. As for the negatives, the room we had was supposed to be a premium room (upgraded from just their basic offering). But, we found it to be lacking in many respects. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and hard. We had to buy cushions just to sleep on it so as not to have back pain the next day. The shower/tub has an extremely high step over that makes getting in and out somewhat dangerous without any grab rails, nonslip surfaces, etc. The water pressure in the shower was also extremely low and the temperature was very hard to adjust with just the slightest or even no movement of the dial resulting in major temp changes from scalding hot to lukewarm. We also had several instances with unpleasant and strong sewer smells in the room. As for the furnishings and materials, I would classify them as adequate if not a bit tired with obvious signs of wear and tear. The room itself was very small and two people will have to do a lot of pausing and waiting to just move around the space as the bed takes up most of the available space in the room. Personally, my wife and I agreed that we would not stay there again. While not bad, we were expecting a bit more from the room for the price we paid.

    It was a tricky start but after a few trips to the reception and many discussions with the staff I got what I booked. When I finally got what I booked, everything was amazing! The room(611) the view, the terrace and the bathroom was perfect! Breakfast was good and many options to choose from.

    Refused a refund due to COVID despite stating on booking.com "Guest may cancel - we will waive all fees." All other hotels in Europe agreed to refund our hotel stays whether a refundable or non-refundable booking. Atrocious customer service - as soon as I had paid through booking.com the hotel contacted me retracting all of the preferences I had selected because I had used a third party site. Worst interactions I have ever experienced from a hotel anywhere and there have been many. Good luck guys I guess you must be the only hotel in Nice. go and have a look at yourself in the mirror, you know what I mean hahah

    We had an excellent stay at Hotel Splendid! We really enjoyed the rooftop pool, facilities are excellent. Great breakfast in the morning with many options! We found the hotel very reasonable for what we paid (accom in Nice for young Aussies is very expensive!). We really appreciated the shower room after check out as we could explore and enjoy Nice for a whole day before catching our evening train to Paris. Thank you Hotel Splendid for being so accommodating!

    Horrible night sleep. Old rooms, people knocking on my door and trying to enter, in the middle of the night, for several times. The bathroom: the shower looks yellow from the lack of cleaning and there is no water pression. The rooftop is nice, and that’s all. Upon checkout there was an issue where they didn’t believe me I’ve paid trough booking. After confirming everything was paid for, a staff member ran after me because “his system” couldn’t see the booking was paid for. It took 3 staff members to figure this out.

    Lovely roof terraces to enjoy a drink with fabulous views over Nice. Staff friendly and helpful. Thank goodness they have quietened the loud music which ruined any attempts at conversation last year, but there is no longer a happy hour so drinks fairly expensive at 8 euros for a glass of wine. Definitely worth a visit for the views, and the hotel is comfortable too.

    This place was amazing!!! The staff was the best thing about our experience! They made you feel very welcome, tried to help in every way and always smiling! The spa is also amazing, very cleans and good massage :) all very friendly! I will certainly be returning again! Massive thanks to breakfast staff Loui and also amazing bar staff christiano! I think I got their names right!! Also the beautiful young lady at reception with the brown hair who upgraded us :) you lot was the best!!

    Great front desk staff and location! Room was nice with a divider between the sitting area and bed area but the 'king' bed was made up of two single beds and the ac leaked for majority of our stay onto the carpet... Parking underground was good but very very tight. Pool on terrace had a beautiful view with okay service. Didn't love the service at the breakfast buffet but we were late and they were close to closing so understandable. Really a great hotel - just need to fix some things up!

    Been here twice now and loved it. Close enough walk from the train station. The rooms are large enough and clean with nice bathrooms. Each room has a balcony but the views aren't up to much from the room itself. The rooftop pool is fantastic. While the rooftop is not too big, there is plenty of seating for sun bathing and plenty of shaded seated areas for eating lunch. The lunch menu is great and the service has always been fantastic. Dinner in the restaurant is great and the views to the water are great up here. Don't think I would stay anywhere else in Nice.

    The best hotel I’ve come across in a long time. This place really is something special! Stayed here five nights and every night found ourselves going to the rooftop bar for drinks as the views were amazing and the staff are so kind and really do make the evening. Location amazing five mins from the beach and 10 from the main food part of town. Room was beautiful I can’t say a bad word about this place. Thankyou for making our trip to Nice extremely memorable.

    Always a great place to enjoy an apero while experiencing the amazing views of Nice from the rooftop. I didn't stay in the hotel, I've only experienced the rooftop restaurant and the conference rooms. From that aspect I recommend the hotel as a great place for meetings and conferences.

    Big thanks to the nice crew with excellent service and good English - front desk, valet parking, repairman, bar staff and cleaners. Great location. We love the rooftop jacuzzi especially still available in warm November, bar vibes, also the room is well decorated with bbc channel on TV, very comfortable bed, nice toiletries, corkscrew :-) The only thing I hope is availability of wine glass in room lol. Great value for money. Highly recommend 😊👍👍👍

    Fabulous hotel, great location! 200 m from tram, 5 minute walk to beach, 15/20 min walk to old town (7mins) on Bleu velo rental bikes! We had a family room (4 adult friends), lovely rooftop bar/restaurant and pool area. Staff really friendly and helpful. Great breakfast too. It was a birthday weekend and the staff had decorated the room and champagne (on request and paid for) was on ice waiting. We didn't use Spa facilities this time. We would definitely return to Splendid if we come back to Nice x

    This hotel is amazing! My room was very good air condition works also good. I also had a Balcony in the room. The staff was incredibly accommodating and efficient when we first checked in. The hotel is very well located, it is not far from the train station and it is not far from the seaside.The great part is all drinks in the mini bar are totally free and they refill the fridge everyday.The roof Tareasse is really beautiful with the Pool & Jacuzzi. Huge variety of Breakfast. I will recommend to everyone.

    This hotel was mixed for me. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I sent an email asking to be considered for an upgrade if one was available and got no response yes or no so I am not sure if they monitor their inbox. We didnt expect one and know we are not entitled to one but we figured it cany hurt to ask, people get free upgrades all the time. The front desk had two reservations under my name one the cheapest and the next was one level up. Was it a mix up from my email? I am not sure, I told them about it but they said based on the reservation we would have the lesser room and could not be upgraded w.o charge( later the staff admitted the cheaper rooms were not nice and unrenovated). But before we knew that we decided we would just pay for the upgraded room. The upgraded room was fine. To put in perspective, if it was the upgrade I would have been very displeased with the lesser room. The room was clean enough, bathroom towels had some stains and were rough to the touch. Tub was hard to step in and out of. Both of us almost slipped stepping down to the floor, even with a floor towel in place. They only put a flat sheet on top of the bare mattress which was odd to me not to have a mattress protector of some sort. The room and hall had a noticable musty odor and some mold in the window caulking. We called the clerk up to let him know the door to the patio would not well secure he immidiately came and said it would be taken care of so that was fine. The AC worked well. The pool and resturant on the roof had a good view. The pool was very deep so it required you to continuously tread water or hold on to the sides. Maybe that is the norm?. Jazzuzi fit 2 people, it seemed very small. The stairs to the top portion of the deck area was ropped off and no one was up there despite seating being full on the lower level. Two men were each half way in. Breakfast was satisfactory. The lobby was beautiful and clean. Location was close to the beach, discount on private beach area was a perk but I think its misleading to include "private beach" in the description as it is still 26 euro per person to acess the blue beach area. Locations was Also close to the tube station which was convenient. All in all it was fine but did fall short of some of our expectations.

    Disappointing. Paint coming off doors and walls, and a piece of our door frame fell off. Carpet was stained in multiple places. Not what I would expect from a four star hotel, but you are indeed blocks away from the water in Nice. A little more upkeep would go a long way.

    We had three rooms here for two nights. I checked out earlier than the party I was travelling with and left 4 silver rings in my room. My family were still in Nice, so I contacted the hotel the same afternoon with the hope of them being collected however I was told no rings had been found. I explained that they weren’t missing or lost, but that I’d left in a very specific place in my hotel room and I knew where they were. I was still told there was no rings, but that the room might not have been cleaned and so they wouldn’t be logged on the system and to call back the next day. A bit frustrating, but I did call again the next day to which no rings had been found, I explained to the staff that they must have been stolen on both occasions but nothing really happened. I haven’t heard from them since, so can only assume they were never handed in. Disappointing as they are not valuable at all, just sentimental. It was my mistake to forget them as I was in a rush to catch a train, but I did not expect them to be stolen. A caution to anyone staying here with valuable items to be extremely careful with them.

    Stayed here with my wife for a romantic weekend away in August. We picked it based on location - slightly back off the main promenade so less touristy and also we really wanted the use of an outdoor pool. The check in was a poor experience. Everyone was waiting beyond 4pm and we were made wait an extra 30 mins or more because I ordered the romantic welcome but in advance. It should have been ready. There was a very unpleasant conversation happening between one customer and the reception as we waited. Beyond that the room is lovely, the balcony was lovely to have and we enjoyed the stay. The air con wasn’t great, we needed to request the reception to check it. The automatic shutters in the room are great. Also, we didn’t use it but you can watch Netflix in the room. The breakfast upon the roof every morning was nice and the pool is great. There is a jacuzzi also. It’s just so nice to sit there after sight seeing and relax with a drink. Really enjoyed the stay, would recommend it.

    I hv spent two nights here which i think is the best staying in Nice, the room is clean and tidy! Staffs are welcoming and professional. Besides, the street outside is specially clean with beautiful view. 8mins walk to the main shopping street. Highly recommended!

Bref, on nous donne les clĂ©s, le monsieur Ă  tout faire ( je l’appelle Comme ça car c’etait Le plus gentil, le plus accueillant et celui qui faisait tout dans cet hĂŽtel ), il nous accompagne dans notre chambre et la le comble de la soirĂ©e, on nous met dans une chambre pas du tout la mĂȘme que celle rĂ©servĂ©e sur le site : ferme qui ne se ferme pas Ă  clĂ©, salle de bain sans savon, toilettes non nettoyĂ©es avant notre arrivĂ©e ( il restait du papier toilette dans les toilettes), taches partout dans la chambre, bĂȘtes sur le lit, et j’en passe et des meilleurs! AprĂšs 12h de route vous vous douterez bien que la patiente n’etait Plus au rendez vous, je dĂ©cide donc d’appeler la rĂ©ception afin de leur dire que ce n’etais Pas la bonne chambre. Ils m’ont envoyĂ© ce fameux homme Ă  tout faire, qui nous a tout de suite proposer une autre chambre, nous avons donc Ă©tĂ© mit dans une autre chambre, bien mieux et bien plus propre ( enfin presque : cheveux de la personne d’avant qui restait dans la baignoire). ArrivĂ©es Ă  22:30 —> dans notre chambre Ă  01h00!! Le lendemain au moment de partir, voilĂ  que ma voiture est bloquĂ©e entre 2 voitures et un poteau dans le parking souterrain, j’avais juste avant demander au rĂ©ceptionniste si quelqu’un pouvait m’aider Ă  sortir la voiture et on m’a rĂ©pondu : nous avons fait de la place pour que vous puissiez sortir ne vous inquiĂ©tez pas. La bonne blague ! J’ai donc en reculant taper la voiture qui me gĂȘnait ( heureusement ni cette voiture, ni ma voiture n’a Ă©tĂ© endommagĂ©e !), et c’est Ă  ce moment lĂ  que le meme monsieur de la rĂ©ception est venu bouger les autres voitures afin que je puisse sortir. Vous vous doutez bien que ce monsieur en a eu pour son grade !
