The worst place I've ever been! Girl on the reception lost my reservation and I have to go to room with 14 beds instead of 6. The rooms are dirty, smelling, noisy and there are no locker on the door to the shower, no private space at all in this place! Pillows needed replacing 5 years ago. Reception did not offer any advice or have any maps available to help us. Nice was beautiful however I recommend staying somewhere else.

The studio (private room w/ bathroom, not shared bathroom per our booking) was not at the indicated address. The owner (?) walked us to 5 rue de la tour on the North edge of Old Nice. Was terrified of getting bed bugs or theft after reading other reviews but I think those reviews are for the dorms at the registered address. We searched thoroughly and found some small brown spots on the mattress (sometimes indicative of bed bugs), but glad to say we did not find any bugs. Pull out sofa-bed wasn't comfortable with the middle sinking. No AC in the room, but there was a fan which did the job. Nice enough kitchenette with fridge included, and good bathroom. In the morning we went to reception to query about a bus, the information and the flyers we received were fantastic but we were informed that we were being moved rooms because of another booking. After moving our things our day started later than planned meaning we missed out on some of our plans. We returned to the hostel and were shown our new room which appeared to be where the hostel workers also slept, definitely not what was shown on the website and not what we paid for. The beds were not made as promised and we were given wet sheets, we couldn’t have a locker key that we had already paid for because the locks were broken. The room door did not lock and the showers on that floor did not work. Unfortunately the main door to access this floor is also faulty and would not unlock from the outside, meaning we were stuck until someone came and opened the doorbell from the inside. The kitchen and communal areas of the hostel were lovely and filled with friendly people and the staff helped the best they could with the poor facilities that are offered at the hostel. It isn’t fair the way we were treated and moved around in our stay, I have never witnessed anything like this from another hostel. The location of the hostel is great being close to the beach, nightlife and supermarket. The beds felt warn, the bunks creaked, the windows let in all the sounds of the city, and the pillows where in desperate need of replacing. The showers where cold, and one didn't drain. We booked this place with the promise of an outdoor pool, steam room, hot showers, and various other things that were listed on Hostel World, but were absent upon our arrival. The only positive was the hostel was clean. It's an ok place to crash if there are no other options, but if you can, stay somewhere else. (Bellow is the hostel world list of amenities)

I planned my long weekend stay here and booked in advance to avoid higher prices but after a month of booking hostel came back asking for 9 euros extra and then started negotiating for 50 percent of it. The hostel itself has a great location, five minutes to the beach, four minutes to the next tram/bus stop and only two minutes to the next grocery store.
