SCAM! Tried to raise the price for a single bunk bed from €35 to €90. I felt compelled to write this review, so without further ado, here you go. This is an American backpacker’s perspective honest review: I had a better time in county jail. Strict rules with zero accommodation for no reason. This is a joke. Heavily overpriced. There are hostels down the street for €5-10 euros cheaper which offer basic human necessities that this one does not. This is basically a private apartment that was reconditioned into a hostel. 10 beds to one room, no AC, 2 bathrooms to share between 30+ people. Only stay here if every other hostel is booked. This should be your last option. Either this or homelessness. I came here during a boxing tournament & quickly realized the joke that was being played. I had a broken arm and was booked to a top bunk which I fell from, it may have further complicated my injury. Sam, the owner, was very helpful and friendly but when you make €1,000+ daily from young, dumb, & broke travelers, you’d be minimally helpful and friendly too. First, there is no common area & the owner is very strict about any kind of leisure. The owner is like a helicopter parent. Comes into the rooms to check on you like there is no privacy whatsoever. It’s infuriating. Second, there is no air conditioning & no sense of community or individuality. Nobody communicates with one another unless they speak each other’s respective language. Any kind of commingling is prohibited. Expect the lights to be shut off at 22:00 & all noise afterward is an egregious offense. The fact that this place is priced anything over €15 per night is laughable and offensive. Go elsewhere. This is a complete joke. I felt robbed the minute I arrived. I cannot believe the city of Nice allows this.

If I could make a note if 0 I would do it without hesitation. I don't usually put reviews, certainly not the negative ones. Our flight was delayed to the next day, we called the host to inform him about the delay and to postpone our check-in to the next day, he didn't refuse on the spot but he said that according to the booking conditions if we don't show up at the check-in of the first day of reservation our stay will be automatically cancelled without any refund. I called the customer service of booking who was very helpful and explained that he can not cancel our reservation and make the check-in the next day because of the airline situation. They called the host to ask him to do that and he refused. I ended up going back to the host explaining that booking has no such condition as he explained and he said without any kind of sympathy either we show up the first day of check in or he cancels the reservation whether it is 2 nights or 1 month without any refund.

I’d appreciate if they let you know in advance that they charge you €5 twice to store your luggage, plus €3 if you need a towel. My €25 stay became €38, with that money I could’ve stayed in a much nicer place. They staff is not present sometimes. I had to call them twice to be allowed inside. The beds grind a lot so if you move you make a lot of noise. If you are planning to leave your luggage before you check in or after you check out, it’s not worth it whatsoever. I recommend going to a nicer place.

Really not value for money. The main problems were the following: lack of space, there were 3 bathrooms for about 30 people, not so clean, the beds were noisy and some did not have a curtain. When my friend left his review, the owner sent him a middle finger emoji.

Honestly it wasn't that bad 😂 it does seem a bit dodgy, defiantly not worth the baggage storage fee, but this place is still up and running! I thought it wasn't, I would only stay here 1, max 2 nights, it's defiantly just a stop and go place

Il fait chaud la nuit car la clim est coupée à partir d’une certaine heure et donc dormir fenêtre ouverte c’est aussi dormir avec le bruit des voitures et des passants car la fenêtre donne direct sur une rue . Real Hostel experience... Small rooms and full of guests. You get what you pay for ... Super affordable for Nice but not too cozy. Would still visit again for a solo trip. Staff is friendly and guests are okay as well.

If you want to have a good vacation don´t choose this Hostel the owner Ben is a terrible person and so racist. He didn´t even say welcome to me when I arrived after 12h traveling. I was there Sep 2022 and I arrived 1 hour after the estimated time and he told me I have to pay extra 20 $ bc ''he waited for me'' otherwise my reservation will be canceled and I won´t get my money back. The other nights I stayed he was always up at that time!!!!! He charges u extra for washing clothes and in the bathroom it´s written it is strictly forbidden to wash ur clothes. He charges u to get a key for the locker. The most unfriendliest human I ever met. Anytime I asked him anything he replied so unfriendly and never wanted to help......

Location is the only good thing about this place. My flight was delayed to the next day so was stuck in another city for a night I messaged the host to let him know. He told me I’d have to pay a late check in fee of 20 euros for checking in the following day despite me checking in during the checkin hours at 3pm and despite me having already paid for the whole booking. I tried to ask whether he could waive this fee as I was stuck in another city and he cancelled the booking and said I could only stay there if this was paid. The beds in the hostel are so loud any time someone moves you wake up. The rooms are also really small so if someone comes home late the whole room wakes up. The host made me feel really uncomfortable as my cousin who also stayed there left a bad review and he confronted me about it. I paid 5 euros to leave my bag there on the day I was checking out and he didn’t let me use some of the facilities and was annoyed when I asked to use the bathroom.

This is the first time I've come across such a terrible host. I've made reservations on booking, hotels, airbnbs and I never had such a problem of reservation. Because of easyjet our flight was delayed which caused our check-in date at the hostel to be rescheduled. The host refused to delay our arrival date without any refund, we told him we would come the next day but he told us it' s the airline's problem, not mine. We have already lost a day and a half of our extended weekend that we scheduled months ago and now we have lost our accommodation too. We paid for a new reservation for a single night at 287€.
