新潟駅直結のCoCoLo新潟(西館)内にあります。 北口側から駅構内を通ってお店に向かわれる方は、お店の場所が分かりにくいのでご注意ください。 (5分くらい迷ってウロウロしました...) お店の場所は1階なのですが駅改札階(2階)のエスカレーターは使わずに、まずはぽんしゅ館のお店に入ってください。 店内に魚沼釜蔵専用のエスカレーターがあるので、そこからアクセスできます。 席数は多いですがかなりの人気店ですので、週末は予約必須です。 フリーで来られて断念された方を20組以上見ました。 ちなみに勘違いされやすいのが、コインを入れて飲み比べられるお店は2階フロアにあり、そちらは予約不要で入れます。 お昼にこってりの三条ラーメンを食べたので食事は軽めでしたが、料理の味・魚介類の新鮮さ・ボリューム共に大満足でした。 日本酒の飲み比べは合計2合程度でしたので、酒豪の方は上越・中越・下越・佐渡の全種類をコンプリートされてはいかがでしょうか？ 飲み比べで気に入ったお酒を、帰りにぽんしゅ館で購入することができます。(私は鮎正宗というお酒がストライクでした) 新潟観光には間違いなくお勧めできるお店です。 正直地元の方が羨ましい... ご馳走様でした。

A really nice place to eat right at Niigata JR station. Staff have very little English, so the google translate app was very useful for those of us with very little Japanese. The place was full of locals and business travellers, everyone was having a great time. Food portions are large, and most less than $10 AUD (we over ordered because the food was so reasonably priced we thought it would be small) The staff went out of their way to make the experience wonderful (pro tip, order from the Japanese menu only, use a translate app, because there are so many more delicious things on the Japanese menu) Highly recommended.

We stumbled upon the this izakaya after our visit to the sake tasting place a floor above. This incredible place excel in taste, variety of both food and drinks, staff attitude, location, decor, ambience and COSPA. I must say it is my absolute best find in recent memory.

This restaurant is very reasonable. The price is cheap, food is delicious. You can eat Soba and Sake, other good Japanese food. If you can’t drink, don’t worry. They have soft drink, coffee.

Ponshukan Niigata is located on the 3rd floor of CoCoLo West Tower. 500yen ticket provides you a small sake cup to sample up to 5 types of sake from the almost 100 sake vending machines. Entrance is via Hotel Mets & taking a lift to 3rd floor.

They have a bar you can enjoy sake flight (5 shots for 500 yen) . there is a shoyu-bar you can taste various shoyu.

Great Sake collection, very reasonable prices regarding the quality, they provide you with the best ingredients of local produce and it is the place to try if you are staying in Niigata for a short time.

Perfect izakaya in Niigata Station. Local food and local beer. Try the onigiri; the Niigata rice is really the best !

Very good small Isakaya Restaurant with a lot of local sake choices, food are great to pair with the sake.
