My
stay
at
unit
309
at
the
Palm
Aruba
Condominium.
My
stay
began
on
January
9,
2021.
I
arrived
at
the
condo
at
4:30
in
the
afternoon
of
January
9,
2021,
at
which
time
there
was
no
one
present
at
the
front
desk
to
check
me
in.
I
approached
security
and
they
called
the
manager.
I
was
then
informed
I
would
have
to
wait
until
the
manager
was
done
with
his
dinner
for
me
to
enter
my
room.
That
same
day
I
had
to
go
with
Javier
to
get
me
a
car
because
the
original
one
given
to
me
with
the
purchase
of
my
stay
was
not
insured.
The
next
day
I
woke
up
to
a
hot
condominium
to
find
the
AC
was
not
working,
so
I
went
to
the
front
desk
and
told
Orlando,
the
manager,
that
it
was
not
working
and
it
was
very
hot
in
my
room.
He
came
into
my
room
to
check
and
agreed
that
it
was
not
working.
For
8
days,
the
AC
did
not
work
and
for
8
days
there
were
repairmen
in
my
condo
going
in
and
out.
This
was
very
annoying
considering
I
am
on
vacation.
During
my
stay,
there
was
not
any
hot
water
in
the
shower,
forcing
me
to
take
cold
showers.
When
I
complained
about
it,
nothing
happened.
The
safe
was
broken
upon
my
arrival
as
well,
forcing
me
to
carry
my
personal
belongings
with
me,
and
had
to
wait
about
4
hours
to
get
it
fixed.
The
washing
machine
that
was
there
took
at
least
3
hours
to
complete
one
load
of
laundry.
The
pillows
on
the
bed
were
very
uncomfortable
and
extremely
small.
There
were
not
enough
hangers
in
the
closet
to
hang
even
half
of
my
clothes.
Kitchen
utensils
were
slim
to
none.
The
couches
were
very
dirty
as
they
smelled
terribly
and
noticeably
dirty,
along
with
the
carpet.
There
were
dogs
at
the
property
adjacent
to
me
that
would
not
stop
barking,
constantly
interrupting
my
sleep.
All
but
enjoyable
for
me.
When
I
confronted
the
owner
about
all
of
this,
I
was
told
that
if
I
did
not
pay
the
full
$3,000
USD,
I
would
be
thrown
out.
At
this
point,
the
owner
of
the
unit
did
not
return
any
of
my
calls
or
emails.
When
I
returned
to
my
condo
one
day,
I
found
a
letter
in
my
condo
directing
me
to
meet
someone
by
the
name
of
Allen
Riley,
at
the
Palm
Aruba
Condominium
on
January
17,
2021,
at
9
AM.
Upon
this
meeting,
Allen
told
me
that
I
have
24
days
credit
at
this
condo
but
wanted
me
to
pay
for
January
and
to
use
my
credit
in
February.
With
that,
I
paid
22
days
worth
at
$160
a
night,
equating
to
$3,520
USD.
I
had
sent
them
a
$1,500
USD
deposit
before
I
even
got
to
Aruba,
leaving
a
balance
of
$2,020
USD.
However,
they
insisted
I
pay
$3,000
USD
or
I
would
have
to
leave.
In
Canada,
this
is
called
extortion,
at
which
point
I
requested
Mr
Riley
to
call
the
police.
When
the
police
arrived,
I
explained
the
problem
and
the
police
agreed
that
I
had
to
pay
22
days
at
$160
a
night
less
the
$1,500
I
had
already
paid
prior
to
my
arrival.
When
the
police
left,
I
paid
Mr
Riley
$2,020
USD
plus
$20
USD
a
night
for
the
12
nights
I
was
going
to
use
as
credit
from
February
1st
to
February
12th.
This
was
a
surcharge
for
extra
hydro
use
and
coverage
of
the
bills
I
had
agreed
to
pay
prior
to
my
arrival.
Once
this
transaction
was
over
and
it
was
only
me
and
Mr
Riley,
he
proceeded
to
tell
me
that
I
should
go
to
Le
Vent
Condominiums
because,
at
this
condominium,
there
were
more
people
of
my
own
kind.
I
could
not
believe
that
Mr
Riley
had
said
that
and
I
was
very
offended
at
his
remark,
leaving
me
to
believe
Mr
Riley
should
not
have
the
job
he
has
with
the
attitude
he
bestowed
upon
me,
a
loyal
customer.
