We absolutely loved our stay here! Staying in the king suite, we were treated to a beautifully decorated and appointed room with all the amenities we could want. Service was extremely prompt and friendly and the included breakfast was delicious. Location was also perfect. Only thing to be aware of is the road out front is closed due to road works (this is of course no fault of the hotel). Definitely recommend this place when visiting Auckland!

Hotel has many of the same premium benefits of others around it like a great bed and great shower but it's the little things that make a difference like the boutique and delicious breakfast, manuka honey toiletries and the staff happily meeting guest requests. Made to feel very welcomed and valued.

We have been in many AKL hotels for get aways and this one came up so we thought why not. Bit unusual for us as it is a boutique hotel, no buffet breakfast and not a well known chain (at least not to me). Location is perfect with a mall just up the road where there is a food court and plenty of restaurants within a 5 min walk. Service was fantastic and people awhile greet and serve were really helpful. Room was clean and funky. Not the usual bland room but I say that in the best way. Breakfast was great and would definitely come back here again. Thanks for having us for a much more unique place to stay than the normal hotel. A++++

After overcharging me, I am asked to confirm the rate I booked at and I booked on their website, go figure! Then follow up myself. Pretty tardy service on that score. No apolodgy. The location is excellent the room nice, but small and the weird bathroom anyone who likes bathroom privacy from their partner will not like it. Breakfast was very good and staff pretty obliging. If it wasn't for the overcharging business it would have been OK.

Quirky hotel situated close to CBD, harbour, and Sky towel. Positives: Clean and tidy hotel as well as room Very modern Great location – 10-15 min walk to Sky Towel, Elliott stables, gelato places, harbour, etc. Comfortable king-size bed Split system air conditioner Free unlimited Wi-Fi Big TV Amazing shower Vanity mirror Blackout curtain Negatives: On-site parking but it was very expensive ($32 per night) Our room was cluttered with a lounge chair, a chair with a stool, and a table so there was nowhere to put your suitcases The shower and toilet arrangement was not great. The toilet and shower were part of the living area, separated by only a sliding glass screen which was only partially frosted, meaning you can actually see and hear your partner using the toilet. Not particularly private so you and your partner will reach a new level of comfort whether you like it or not. Very small fridge

This was a fantastic hotel! It was walkable to anywhere in city center, and just steps from a beautiful waterfront with great restaurants. However, it was set a bit away from the hustle and bustle in a nice, quiet area. The staff was wonderful; in fact, we didn’t even ask, but they checked us in early and even moved our luggage (in lobby storage) to our room for us while we were at lunch, which was a huge help for our noticeable jet lag! The rooms are very spacious, with a little sitting area, and with modern amenities.

For our stay the staff were not helpful or very friendly. One staff member openly told us she was the most experienced on site and had been there 3 months. The bathroom door in our room was a slider between shower and toilet and did not slide so there was little to no privacy. Great location, probably wouldn’t go back. Coffee was terrible!!!!

Really enjoyed my stay, lots of nightlife and near the hotel. Breakfast was also amazing, a la carte. Great hair dryer, water pressure, rooms were clean and quiet.

Our stay at Ohtel was thoroughly enjoyable. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. Location was great we had a lovely view of the sky tower. Room service was quick and easy using the ipad to call reception to bring some milk up in the morning. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in The Auckland CBD.

Excellent location right at the harbour. Outstanding service, rooms and breakfast. One of the best places to stay in Auckland. We'll be back.

Try telling your foreign-born taxi driver to go to Ohtel. LOL! “Yes sir, but what’s the name of the hotel?” The property has a small footprint on a little street close to the water. Excellent location close to ferries, shopping and Britomart train station. Room was super clean. Bed and bedding were very comfortable. Friendly staff. Thanks!!

This is a fantastic little hotel! Great location, great service, and the room was wonderful. Very comfortable and spacious; the shower was amazing! I will definitely stay here again.

Very well located between the harbor and CBD. Friendly staff, we were able to leave our luggage in between two stays, when we visited New Zealand

This Hotel is exceptional from the moment you are greeted until you leave. Staff were warm and friendly and straight away you are pleasantly surprised by the retro furnishings. The food for breakfast was superb and the vegetarian breakfast was excellent. Thank you Ohtel for your amazing hospitality.

neer the water front, nice orange furnished room. 2 things could be better: the shower and toilet have the same door, and it is a little hard to close the door completely. second - no free water or milk, like in all the rest hotels. please let the guests know that TV, even when the screen shows nothing, doesn't mean that the sound is off as well.

A really cute place to stay if looking to base yourself in Auckland for a couple of days. The decor of the room was very funky and everything electronic - very cool! The location next to the harbour is perfect for finding a place to eat. Would definitely stay again.

Would not recommend, highly overpriced hotel. Laundry service bill is insanely high, and received after check-out. The shower is cold, and with checking of staff member, they told me that it is strangely part of the deal. If you want to have great location, go to rhis place. If you want to have a hot shower and a great service- please go somewhere else.

Wonderful boutique hotel with 25 rooms. Ideally located next to Viaduct Harbor with a dozen restaurants. The staff here were exceptional, especially Maria and Nicole. They couldn't do enough for us. Will recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Auckland.

The mid century modern design of the spacious rooms is what first attracted us to book the rooms. The staff is truly accommodating in a friendly way. The staff makes you feel at home. The beds and pillows are fabulous, so is the shower water pressure. Nespresso coffee maker is common, but here again they go above and beyond by adding a frother in your room The robes are top quality but no hooks to hang them. Also could use luggage stands. Location was perfect.

The rooms are exactly what they are like in their pictures. If traveling in with a car highly recommend booking for parking because there are barely any free parks around the hotel. Good location to restaurants near the harbour and night clubs. The street can be a bit loud during weekend.

Ohtel is great. It has a handy waterfront location with good access to Queen Street and Britomart mall ( and Vector Arena). The room was spacious and the freestanding bath is wonderful. Also good food options- and most importantly the staff are amazing! Highly Recommend.

We loved our night at Ohtel. The decor was fabulous, as was our room. Such a comfortable bed with all the mod cons. We definately be my pick for somewhere cool in the city. Also breakfast was excellent.

This place is amazing. Beautifully clean and fresh and comfortable- excellent location. Right next to the waterfront yet so peaceful and quiet and relaxing. Hands down the best thing about this place is the staff. Wonderful people. So accommodating, friendly and happy to help with anything you need. We loved our stay

Comfortable, well appointed rooms. We liked the quirky decor. It was nice being able to use the pool on a hot afternoon. However, the pool is shared with a small number of apartments in the area so it's not for the exclusive use of the hotel. This is a boutique hotel so don't expect a lively bar in the lobby area - it's very small but cosy. We also had breakfast in the hotel. it was a small menu but everything was executed very well.

Enjoyed a staycation for Easter and was blown away by the experience. Friendly service, comfortable bed and a nice fitout. Ideal location being so close to the Viaduct but not amongst the busyness of it. We absolutely loved our stay and hope to come back.

We stayed here a month ago and had such a lovely stay we wanted to come again. Different room this time and a very different experience with noise. Street facing on a Saturday night, a party bus pulled up around 10pm and off and on throughout the night drunken fights and loud shouting. The bed was right next to the door and wall of the corridor, so every door and lift movement is heard throughout the night. Dbl glazed windows would help the outside noise and having no gaps under the door would help… just so disappointed with the noise aspect. But ecstatic about the service, the beautiful amenities and location as before.

This is a good little hotel with some quirky 60's style furnishings and good service. The room carries this theme on and is a nice place to be with furnishings that were in great condition. The bed was also very comfy and there were several pillows to choose from. My only complaint would be the shower/ toilet which are combined in a design which looks great in a magazine. In use the whole shower room ends up with water everywhere flooding the floor, covering the toilet etc. The tiles dry fairly quickly but its a bit odd. The location is what is a standout for this hotel as it is right next to the marina where all the resturants and bars are located. Helpful too is that people seem to drop their E-bikes off pretty close by so you always have that option to get around.

Absolutely adorned our room with all the extra essentials that were provided. We actually thought it was the best room by far, and we have stayed at a few hotels/motels. Very close to where our function was held also.

Fabulous service throughout the entire stay. A well appointed room with so many fabulous little touches; the minibar, chrome casting with the tv, robes, quality tea, recycling options for rubbish in the room. The most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in at a hotel! Will definitely stay again. A true kiwi gem.

We stayed 3 nights in the O'Sullivan Suite and it was fantastic. Even before you arrive, the communication is prompt and clear, and from the second we walked in, every staff member was friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. There are lots of little things that make this a great place - the welcome drink, the daily newspaper, real milk and good quality tea and coffee in the rooms (not a powdered coffee or UHT milk in sight!). The linen is top quality and the bed one of the most comfortable ever! Location wise, it couldn't be better - it's easy to drive to, and is literally across the road from the Viaduct. We definitely know where we'll be staying next time we are in Auckland!

Friendly staff. Super clean, comfortable King bed. Loved the retro styling. Bubbles and delicious breakfast in room included. Will definitely be back.

We stayed in the O'Sullivan suite, quirky is an accurate description, you open the door and the bathtub is right there. The bathroom area has no hanging space that should be addressed. Views of the harbour were very minimal, you look over the top of the building next door, the suite is on the top floor, the fourth. Parking is excellent once you find the hotel, if you are driving call and asked for the latest directions as road works are all around the location with lots of closed roads.

Decadent, beautiful and fun. There is so much detail throughout the lobby, hallways and of course rooms. Beds are extremely comfy, there is a pillow menu and the bath is just so large. Staff were helpful and so friendly - you can definitely tell this is a 5 star hotel and it’s worth it.

Loved my stay here. Service was amazing, super helpful and friendly. Amazing view of sky tower from pool area. Also has spa and gym! Affordable Parking on-site. Great breakfast and coffee included with room.

I would hesitate to call this a five-star hotel. It is definitely in a five-star location, but the set up of the most rooms (I understand the “suites” have separate bathrooms) means that basically your bathroom is right in your bedroom. There is a sliding glass door between the toilet and the bed… and that toilet is just a couple feet from your pillow. So basically any sounds or smells that might emanate from regular bathroom use are right there — the toilet is right in your hotel room by your bed. No fan. I don’t know how they came up with this layout, but it is frankly terrible. I feel sad to say this because I don’t have any idea how they could fix it at this point. So if you’re the kind of traveler, who lets it all hang out, then by all means come here. If you like to have a modicum of privacy and don’t want the sound of a toilet flushing right behind your head at 2 AM you may want to request one of the suites or stay elsewhere. The room is well appointed otherwise, and our balcony has a lovely view.

My daughter and I had a fabulous night away and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I mentioned that it was a special occasion for my daughters 15th birthday and we were greeted with a lovely sweet platter with happy birthday spelt out in chocolate. Thank you for allowing our friends to also dress the room in balloons etc as a surprise prior to our arrival. It’s the thoughtful gestures little like this that impact on your stay.

While staffing levels were stretched, likely Covid, the working staff were very friendly and very efficient. All our needs, questions and room service requests were met quickly and with a smile. The room was state of the art technology, the decor and layout were well done, the room and surrounding area (viaduct area) was very quiet and safe and most importantly the bed was very comfortable and allowed a good sleep. One improvement though would be to ensure a room compendium or suchlike was available to help work out some of the technology and appliances and to provide a menu. I'm sure it was meant to have one. We had breakfast included and they were excellent with good menu choice. Well done to the staff member who had to take over chefing duties as the normal chef was unavailable. Being a smaller boutique hotel there wasn't a lot of people, noise or bustle - excellent. The facilities were great. Good pool, spa pool and very good gym and sauna. These are a shared resource but we always seemed to have them to ourselves. Happy to recommend.
