I stay at Sky City hotel often for business. It’s a really good choice - close to the office, good dining options and comfortable rooms. Sometimes I’m welcomed back as a regular and sometimes not. The little touches of some bottled water or the occasional chocolates are lovely but when I don’t get these, I feel a little disappointed. The staff are always friendly on arrival. I have always found the rooms to be clean which is important. My stay this week had one thing that let it down. I ordered my room service breakfast to arrive in the window of 6.25 to 6.40 as I need to make sure I have time to eat, get ready and check out before I head out. At 6.40 it still hadn’t arrived, I called and was told it was on its way. However it didn’t arrive til close to 7am and looked like it had been thrown on the tray so I honestly think they had forgotten it completely. I raised this issue upon check out and received an apology but now I’m nervous about ordering the room service breakfast again when I stay next week. The other thing that is worth mentioning is the room service menu for dinner…. I had the butter chicken which was tasty but the other choices on the menu are extremely overpriced and the selection isn’t great. I’d love to have some other choices.

We chose this hotel because it was in the CBD and had numerous restaurants within the complex. The good things about it stops right there though. This hotel is a total disappointment. We have been traveling for decades and have been to almost every part of the world and sad to say this hotel is not worthy of its official 4 + star rating. We literally had to beg for our room to be serviced/cleaned. This went on everyday for the 3 next days we stayed with them. Apparently, they have this policy of only servicing the rooms every 3 days! I wish they wrote that in their hotel's description. We also had to call for the simplest thing as toilet paper as they left half a roll for the 3 of us to consume on our first day. The front desk and housekeeping personnel all claimed that they lack staff to do those things. My point is – why do they bother to have the hotel open and on offer when they don’t have sufficient staff to address their issues. Some of them even told us that they were pulled out from hotels nearby to service the hotel. People bringing room service orders looked like trainees. A couple of them admitted that they just started working in the hotel a couple of days ago. On check-out, we raised these issues and the front desk people seemed like they couldn’t care less what these issues were. The hotel is being run by part timers. So much for one’s security and privacy. The rate of AU$ 300 plus a night is not exactly the going rate for a room at a rundown motel. The room we got was a Premium Twin Suite. The suite was poorly lit. We had to request for an extra lampshade because we felt like we were in a cave . The lining of the chairs were ripped/worn out. Again, I don’t understand why they offer these rooms when they are in this state. I am actually disappointed that Qantas even offers this hotel in its listing. A lot of Australians depend on their recommendation. This hotel is enough reason for us to avoid going back to New Zealand for the 5th time.

Checked into a King Premium Room Friday and checked out Sunday, with a cost of $698.38 for accommodation. Hotel is centrally located, just a 10m stroll down hill to Queen Street shops. On arrival there is valet parking available costing $55 per day. At reception staff are all super friendly and go out of their way to assist you. They will take your luggage to your room if you want them too. There was a mix up with rooms at start, but it was sorted quickly. On check in we asked for our room to be serviced on Saturday but unfortunately that didn't happen. I recommend the in room food service. The food is delivered within 30-35m, it's hot, delicious and all meals we had were big portions so good value for money.

We had a brilliant adventure into the city and our family suite was fantastic. Excellent facilities, lovely staff and I would happily book to come back again. Special mention to Jane on reception, who was lovely!

I absolutely loved my stay here, a beautiful view, and the room was immaculate and tidy. The staff are wonderful except for one individual. Lisa seemed very impatient when serving us, she didn’t look like she wanted to help us at all and tried multiple times to shut down the conversation without help. Overall though, great customer service and the most amazing hotel I have stayed at

Super friendly at helpdesk - Lady who wished me Happy Birthday was super nice and helpful. Got a card from Skycity to wish me Happy Birthday with chocolates so thank you! Was impressed with room and service itself. From front desk all the way to cleaners who were nice, would recommend the stay here & worth the price!

Checked into our room, it was so dirty in the bath had hair clogging up the plug it was so long and black we didn't want to touch it, it's absolutely disgusting 🤢 we took multiple photos but honestly the room looked as if it hadn't been cleaned or vacummed before we Checked in. We also had children in this room aswell we are not impresses at all so unhygienic. For a 4 star hotel you would think they would live up to their expectations come on Skycity!! Disappointed 😥

My mum and I could not have wished for better accommodation or staff at the hotel. We were recently stuck in Auckland during the flooding of 27/1 that cancelled our flight home early saturday morning, and the concierge staff specifically were all so so lovely and kind to us while we figured out what we needed to do. Not only that but the location of the hotel is better than you could hope for, close to everything in the Auckland cbd and so easy to orientate ourselves around. If I could give just the staff 5 stars, then I absolutely would, I can't stress enough how helpful they were in our little time of uncertainty/crisis. The rooms we stayed in were also very comfortable and clean of course. Will be staying there again should I ever find myself back in Auckland 😊

Stayed for work. New rooms. Quiet with good AC and everything I needed for my stay. Well located. It's a little bit feral out front unfortunately, with a fair few drunks).

Not even worth 1 star, had the most unpleasant dealings with them right from the start which ended up in cancellation of our room and the loss of $242:10. Walked in with a $400:00 gift card and walked out with $157:90 and got nothing from it. Will go and try to retrieve what's left on my gift card and never have any dealings with them ever again 😡😡😡

The location of this hotel is perfect for walking to many of the sites we wanted to visit while in Auckland. It's also great for being picked up by tour companies, so convenience all around. The staff were very friendly, our room was clean, the beds were super comfortable and our floor was quiet - absolutely no noise from the hallway or from outside. We would have stayed another night, after our plans changed, but they were fully booked. It's a huge hotel, so that's an indication of how popular it is. We would definitely stay at the SkyCity Auckland again.

This hotel was up there with the best. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, checking in and checking out was so easy and quick. The hotel is in a perfect location for walking distance to sightseeing, bars and restaurants. If you need to treat yourself this will be the spot!

Had a birthday vacation here. The room is lovely, quiet and large. The shower pressure is great, and the range of bath products is wonderful. Was welcomed with two bubblies and a thoughtful birthday card, which are a lovely birthday surprise.

Water needs to be requested just to have one. And the lady said you ran out of water bottles. Really? No cold drinks in the fridge to select. Milk was too small and one 1 milk for 5 nights stay? TV connection broke...twice! No cutleries! Expensive room is ok but you should have been more fortcoming on the service! I should have gone to Rydges instead. ============================================== Response from the owner 4 days ago Thank you for the review and feedback. All our amenities are available on request, and we are currently looking into the unusual comment regarding low water stock. Please let us know directly should you wish to stay in future so we can ensure you have a seamless experience. ============================================== My reply - The water bottles we've requested never came after waiting for 3 days.

My husband and I spent our 28th Wedding Anniversary there. We booked the summer deal and we loved it, from the time we walked in and the time we left. The staff were amazing and always happy best service ever. We have stayed at alot hotels. We loved our room we also received chocolates and a card as a gift from them, so special. We had stayed at the Grand last year for our 27th Wedding Anniversary it was nice, but felt the staff and everything was so much better at Sky City Hotel, we wished we stay for a couple of more nights. The bed was so comfortable the room very, very clean. Again thank you so much Sky City Hotel. We will definately be back.

The system is extremely inefficient and slow service. 1. We requested and paid for an extra bed and we were told it’s being done by the reception. Hours later we did not have the extra bed being sent to the room. 2. The bed eventually arrived, however the duvet and the duvet sheet is missing. We requested again for the missing items and later on we noticed the sheet is very dirty and even wet. We called the Sky City line and all we get is simply a “sorry about that”. That’s all. The only good thing we could think of is the staff were nice in person and the location of the hotel. Understaff is not an excuse of delivering dirty items to your customers. SkiCity is not worth it for its price.

We enjoyed our stay here. It's very convenient location in the city centre and plenty of underground parking if you book ahead. The room was comfortable and modern.

We stayed here for my wife’s birthday. Location is great with a selection of great restaurants nearby. Room was large, modern and clean, they had even left some chocolates and a handwritten card for my wife’s birthday which I thought was a nice touch. Breakfast buffet was well worth having with a good selection. The only negative of any note is there is construction work happening across the road and you could hear a little bit of noise quite early in the morning, but certainly not a showstopper.. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is keen to stay in the heart of the city.

Perfect location if you want to live in CBD. Lovely staff. The room is spacious and clean. Free Gym. However, it is a bit noisy if you live on the third floor under the gym.

The hotel and room were great, just the windows were not well insulated and when curtains were open, it got quite chilled in the room. Besides that, all was good. In my opinion, it was better than the pullman.

The rooms that my colleague and I stayed in on H1 were a bit average. We've both travelled and stayed in many NZ hotels separately. What I did like was having chromecast on TV.

we had a very poor experience here spent over 1200 plus a 600 dollar bond and was shocked with the experience was made to wait at least 2.5 hours for our rooms to be ready only to be given the wrong rooms booked two double rooms and a king room and were given 3 singles complained about the rooms they made us wait over 2 hours for the 2 double rooms to be ready. went to the double rooms only to find the rooms occupied by other people literally gave us the swipe card keys and we went in to the first room there was a couple lying on the bed went back complained again was made to wait again the list goes on the rooms were very cold felt like air was coming in the windows towels were not replaced I had to go looking for some.outside the front door there were homeless people harrasing us for money. but most of all the service was poor especially at the front desk I am shocked at this place and would not recommend it to anyone I hope your manager reads this and knows what a terrible job yous are doing I will definitely not be back if i could i would have given this place 0 stars 23/09/2023

About a half mile walk to the docks. Most restaurants close to the hotel were quick food places. The sky tower provided a great landmark for finding our way home. Restaurant at the top provided excellent food and great city views

If you're looking for a night away for yourselves and the kids then I definitely recommend the Premium Family Suite at Sky City Hotel. Ample space for our family of 6. A large room for mum and dad. The children had a decent space to chill in also. In-room provision for the children is excellent. Nice work Sky City, I was unexpectedly impressed. We actually use another hotel in the CBD as our go to but this room tops theirs by a mile. Thank you for making the experience for us very special. We'll definitely be back again.

I wish i can give ratings in minus, my wife just eat 2 chocolate and one soft drink from the fridge, we had no idea about that mini bar and they charged $150 for that, really shameful thing done by the 5 star hotel, never be back again,

The room: We chose a Premium room which was quite spacious and comfortable. Featured a Californian king bed with great pillows and kept us warm. The TV was great with simple menu. The bathroom was spacious, well lit and had everything we needed including a rainfall shower head. The service: We caught the bus in from the airport and were met at the entrance door by a Porter who offered to wheel our luggage in and assist with check-in. They then took it to the room no questions asked and did so with a smile and good nature. The check in process was hit and miss. Initially I was met with quite a bored, quiet staff member. I asked about an upgrade which she was unsure how to facilitate and had some assistance. After this, her personality changed and she was rather engaging with questions and assistance. Like the other person reminded her to perk up to cover for the unavailable room upgrade. The location: The location is nice being featured in the Casino complex. Plenty of eateries and entertainment. The back side of it was an extensive employment protest held out the front which echoed right up to our room as well as parties that were hosted and not acted on. The noise was unbearable costing us a nights sleep and multiple calls to concierge seemed to do nothing. Plenty of hotel choices around the CBD at similar or cheaper prices so currently undecided if we will repeat our stay here on our next visit.

Stayed here on a Wednesday and Thursday night. The reception staff were very welcoming, the concierge desk asked if we wanted help with our bags, and check in was swift. The room was clean and spacious and very comfortable. Although there were plenty of other guests, our hotel room was very quiet and the blinds and curtains blocked out all light, making for a great sleep. The hotel was within walking distance to all we went to, or the Ubers were just minutes away. Compared to all other hotels I researched, Skycity was by far the best deal. I’m glad I chose it. We are already planning our next visit. This is a very well run hotel and the staff we dealt with were all friendly and intent on good service.

From beginning to end our stay was great! I booked in same day as check in and it was a very easy process. All staff were amazing and helpful. Our room was perfect! The view was beautiful, the bed was the BEST, the bathroom was spacious and the shower was a nice big size! We really enjoyed that the TV was really helpful. It had the attractions close by, restaurants and more info! We really loved that the TV also let us chrome cast from our own phones, so we watched Disney+ and Netflix during the night!

Very impressed with the level of service. All the staff were very friendly and happy to help. The gym facility was excellent, one of the best equipped hotel gyms I have visited.

All the people we met were kind and very professional. Personal preference would have been to have daily room service so i didnt have to call for our room to be vacummed, bins to be emptied and towels to be swapped out during our 4day stay. Other than that everything else was easy to deal with. Beds were super comfy and our kids loved having their own area with a tv so we all got to have wind down time after being our site seeing most of our days.

Sky hotel does not even deserve this 1* I am so dispointed in my two night stay over this weekend at the Sky City hotel. I came here excepting the best service to be absolutely let down. We spending big money to stay here for my birthday weekend to be told at check in our room won't be serviced at all during our stay at this hotel, which is such poor service to start. I then go to the restaurant downstairs on the first night with my husband to start off my birthday weekend to then 30 Minutes later get extreme food poisoning, vomiting and diahera severely, then to top it off the hotel allowed other guests to party, music up to 4am in the morning, this was supposed to be a romantic weekend away, this was on both nights we stayed, along with been extremely ill, we have had no sleep whatsoever. The hotel cleanness was poor, our room was average, bed made poorly, dated and marks all over the furniture, bathroomnot clean, I paid $670 for my stay at the hotel excepting the best service, to be so badly let down, I want my money back! On checkout girl just said I'm sorry for the inconvenience and offerd our parking complimentary after all we been through a measly $35!!! This hotel should be ashamed, I will not recommend you to anyone and make sure none of my friends and family stay at the poor quality hotel in the future BEWARE!!!! Dont stay at this hotel.

I must say I enjoy staying at the SkyCity Hotel. This was a business stay so a no fuss experience is always appreciated. Parking is plentiful, check in efficient and the room clean and comfortable. Plenty of dining options and onsite entertainment if you partake. Would recommend.

    · A clean damage free room would have been Great especially being an $1200 stay at a 4 star Hotel. There was Pink and black mold in the bathroom. Shower rose was also broken and there was dead skin on multiple surfaces in bathroomand sleeping areas. I have taken pictures as staff wasn't interested.

We have been to this hotel a couple of times, the location is absolutely amazing, we had once the breakfast there but it wasn’t great, opposite the hotel there is a great bakery with very good coffee, close to many attractions in the city, you can sometimes get reduced entry to the sky tower. For a family of four the premium suite with two beds and a living room area is fantastic. I can just recommend it.

It's always a great stay when we check in to here. We're always happy to stay here (wife and I) easy to check in. Close proximity to all amenities and food places. We couldn't decide on what to have for dinner so we ordered room service (see pictures) I had the rib eye steak and wife had ceasar salad ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The mini bar fridge was empty. I wonder if perhaps this was missed when the room was cleaned before our arrival. Either way it wasn't a problem, we went for a walk in to town and bought snacks and did a little shopping.
