Re-opened, excellent! Added a whole range of craft beers and no horrid changes. Several real ales on tap and craft cider now. For those that have not heard of this place before it is an old music hall with a classic glass arched roof, a upstairs balcony , a stage and tours of the basements ( no idea of what is down there). Always been a good place. Slightly dodgy wooden floor which is heavier people can feel moving but nice looking.

The Malt Cross has been a staple since moving to Nottingham 12 years ago. Love bringing friends and family here for their first time. Stunning venue but also super relaxed. Plenty of activities running throughout the week, have taken part in many quizzes over the years. Good beer selection and currently offering a loyalty card which is great value. Had the Sunday roast recently, generous portions, beautifully presented and very tasty. Good communication with booking a table also. A must visit for both locals and tourists.

One of the best venues in town! The Malt Cross is a beautifully restored Victorian music hall with a curved glass ceiling, original stage, pillars, and features in period colours - a hidden gem right off Market Square. The staff are super friendly, the food of the highest quality, and they host live gigs and events. Been coming here since the 90s, and love it more than ever. In fact, I even got together with my wife in the Malt Cross, kissing on the dance floor on New Year's Eve, many years ago.

Superb Sunday roast. Veggie option was spot on - Beetroot Wellington. Simple, quick service. Will be back.

We attended a wedding here yesterday (06/04/23) and I’ve got to say we were impressed from the moment we walked in until we left much much later on in the night 😂 The staff were so helpful and friendly, the food that was served was excellent!! And they have such a vast array of beers and spirits, something for everyone. A must place to visit and a cool wedding venue too. Keep up the great work ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We come here several times a month - the service is fantastic and the venue is full of character. We requested The Snug for a family do and it was perfect. The Malt Cross team couldn't be more helpful.

Nice historic building. It used to be very overpriced so was reluctant to step in since it has reopened. The prices are similar to what they were previously, so I've dropped a star for it being unnecessarily pricey.

Beautiful architecture and a very relaxed vibe teamed with the great selection of drinks makes this place a must visit in my eyes.

Lovely pub in a beautiful old Victorian music hall. They do food and usually have a selection of good cask ales. Check their website though as the don't open every day. And Thursday night is open mic, which may not be everyone's cup of tea.

I called on for a drink on a Saturday with some friends, a lovely old building with loads of character. Lively but not busy, straight to the bar and served as soon as we were there. Well worth a visit, I'll pop in again 😀

Usually I love this bar and it would be 5stars. But last time I went I was disappointed by the beer selection. On the taps there were 3 different fruity beer flavours and no IPA, for me that's not great and usually they have more choices. 😞 Although I will always come back here as the bar is beautiful and it's a great location. Always worth a visit.

Fantastic spot for something to eat in the centre of Nottingham. Great atmosphere, beautifully refurbished old dance hall, with a great selection of food and drink. Haven't yet managed to get to one of the evening events, but definitely on the list! They look fantastic!

Lovely, interesting place (ex music hall) just off the main city square, which we've enjoyed several times in the past. The beer was excellent, and the mulled wine was amazing, I'm told. Menu was a little limited, but OK, but within a few minutes of ordering, we were told that the delivery that had just arrived had none of the meat ingredients on it. This knocked out many of the menu options. The staff were great and dealt with it as best they could, but I hope this isn't a regular thing. I'd certainly give them another try, though, just in case.

Really good atmosphere and interesting venue! They weren't serving food when we arrived for lunch though so we headed out soon after

A great find in Nottingham. Great ambience, great beer but equally great looking cakes, along with cofees and teas for those so inclined. It's worth a diversion.

Chilled place, amazing building but the music doesn’t match the atmosphere??? It’s a place to relax and enjoy good company but the music was the opposite ?? Bot sure u d rush back but maybe I’m getting old (only 46)

An old music hall that feels like you're inside an ancient ship. Great for Sunday lunch with fantastic live jazz. Family friendly and very chilled atmosphere

Fantastic place, beautiful building, friendly staff, great food and drink. The prices seem to have gone up since last time I visited but it's the same everywhere really

Unbelievable old music hall pub. Good selection of ales, but this place is about the atmosphere and the history of the building. Go upstairs on the gallery. Very good 👍

Totally enjoyed the Sunday roast. Meat and seasonal veg were excellent in presentation and quality. Perfect service at a reasonable price. Good beers were sipped at a relaxing Manor in this gem of a pub.

A great little find this place is, great genuine relaxed atmosphere and good beer choice. Went on a Sunday and only Roast Dinners available- having said that my Roast Beef was very nice. Have returned on a Saturday evening and the food menu is simple but the food is delicious, loved the pitted olives as a side dish. Worth seeking out. M

A hidden gem of a space in the city centre serving good beer & food. It does have some 'quirks' which can be really frustrating. Sunday roasts are only available to those who pre-book, but no information is available on the website, social media or on the door to warn you of this in advance. If you haven't pre-booked then a short alternative menu is available (cod, a burger)

Great find. Old music hall that has been transformed into a pub but still has events.eg gin festival and music. Has a studio downstairs and caves I think barman said but we just were in for an evening drink. Great atmosphere decent prices and much better than Weatherspoons over the road 🙂

A cracking good pub with a good selection of beers, wines and spirits. There is live music and entertainment on from time to time, check out their website for more information. The place can get pretty busy towards the end of the week. It is a rather middle class clientele visiting and if you go earlier than the busy evening periods it is also family friendly. There is an upstairs seating area which in my honest opinion superior to the downstairs section - purely just because of the view you get of downstairs from above. And you will be much closer to the very bright half glass roof.

Wow! What an amazing building! Restored old music hall with lots of original features. Good selection of craft beers too. Covid safe and test and trace implemented

A fantastic looking place, slightly hidden away up St James's Street. Nice range of beers on the go with its own unique layout, over two floors. Definitely worth several visits.

Great looking place with a good selection of drink but at 20:00 on monday the only food available was cheese burger and chips which was a shame.
