Sunday Lunch menu is good with plenty of options. The food is great and the staff are very friendly. Service today was a little slow. Possibly COVID related. Thems some BIG plates. Great Yorkies. Beer garden is great in the summer. Ventilation in toilets could use some improvement.

The Sunday lunch was expensive. Β£17.00 per head. Extremely cold inside the pub. No radiators on at all. My grandmother was so cold she had to put my coat on her legs. Disappointing experience.

Superb pub. Mix of students and locals but lots of rooms and nooks and crannies so easy to find the right place for you. Great beers. One of the best hidden sun-trap beer gardens in the city.

Amazing classic burger, fries, and a pint at lunchtime. Burger was excellent as was the pint of Archer.

What a great pub! Served a high class range of drinks even a good alcohol free stout! Lots of different seating areas which all felt snug and cosy. Staff were friendly and I felt I received a warm welcome. Parking just outside too. Enjoyed a pint in here would recommend

Fantastic traditional pub with great selection of drinks, friendly bar staff, outdoor seating and chill out areas. The prices were really good compared to the city centre so it's definitely worth a walk up to if you are visiting Nottingham. There was a beer festival on for the weekend when we attended with some excellent local hand pulls.

Update: had an ok Sunday dinner. Roast chicken was just ok and to be honest not sure if it was even roasted. The Guinness was not the best poor to be honest. Veggie roast was ok as well. Great spot for a lovely pint and great staff. We booked a table and they had table service, all very efficient and quick service. I would also stop here, great spot. This is dog friendly pub.

Very important pub on the Nottingham scene. Good staff, warm atmosphere and nicely extended into the outside area. Good range of beers nicely presented. A place of significant pedigree in the area sympathetically and carefully maintained & improved.

Love this place, a little out of town away from all the hustle and bustle. Good selection of drinks and lovely food. Staff always friendly. Love the roof top seating area

Hosted an event here and it was excellent. Service was exceptional throughout. Staff were lovely and attentive. Space was amazing and glad the weather held up! Can't recommend the whole booking process highly enough!

Really lovely real ale pub. Excellent range of drinks, lovely atmosphere. Great roof terrace and top-notch pizza. I'd seriously go back just for the pizza!

Best pub near Nottm centre for outside space, owned by a great local brewery with an excellent selection of drinks. Always a good vibe in here and a warm welcome.

One of many decent boozers around canning circus. This one always has decent kept cask and a huge array of gin if you’re into that. Arguably one of the best beer gardens in notts as well in my opinion

Great place. Still got it's atmosphere, was friendly and inviting. The staff were really helpful and kind, especially as we asked for something that wasn't on the menu that evening. The pizzas were amazing; great size, interesting toppings & tasty! We'll be back!

A very traditional old pub, the victorian architectural features still remain and add to it's ambience, there are a wide range of flavoured Gins available as well as many cask ales. We only stopped for one pint but will definitely return to try more..

Good ales and wine selection. Quirky lay out with separate areas to have a get together in a larger group as well as a very attractive bar areas. Didn’t eat here this visit but it looked good. Great staff - very welcoming and accommodating.

Love the friendly welcome at The Borlase. Great, busy atmosphere. Hope it's like that every night. Cosy in the winter and sunny spaces in the summer. Perfect.

Quirky experience, bar a rabbit Warren of rooms. Great beer and food ok but this place in my opinion is all about the beer. Will be back to try a 5.9o/o beer.

With its large amount of outside tables, hidden away from the traffic of canning circus, this is a superb hidden gem. Nice beers, lovely pizzas, efficient bar staff. Inside it's spacious and again plenty of tables, spread out over a few rooms.

A lovely quirky rambling pub with lots of nooks and crannies and a roof terrace for the hot weather. The beer selection is excellent from a new (to me) local brewery. If I am in Notts again I will try and pay a visit once more.

A place with an impressive selection of gins, lagers, ales etc. Different places to sit in. Thankfully lacking university students. Our drinks bill came to Β£30. This would have been nearer to Β£120 in my home town. Definately worth visiting. Food menu looks great but didn't eat. Lovely atmosphere and great bar staff. Nice to see this place still have jugs for ale.

Poor beer and more pricey that better local pubs. The locals were unpleasant at the pub quiz. However staff where very pleasant, Hense 2 stars, but will be going elsewhere in future

The SJB quickly became our favourite local. It has a good range of beers and drinks; excellent food catering to a wide variety of dietary needs/preferences; great outdoor seating in the summer; lovely staff; and of course very dog friendly. Highly recommended!

Lovely old pub with a great atmosphere and friendly staff who can tell you a bit about the history of the place if you're interested (Lewis is very knowledgeable) and there are caves beneath your feet! Beer and Cider samples on offer, an extensive range of spirits, occasional live music and very dog friendly. Nice tiered beer garden too. Didn't have any food but looked pretty decent from what I saw. Definitely worth the 10 minute walk up from the city centre.

Although the drinks are a bit pricey compared to other pubs in the area its a nice place with the best beer garden. Monday pizza nights are the best!

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Absolutely amazing! I went to have lunch on my graduation day with my friends. Food was very flavourful and cocktails were nice. Special dietary options are available and you always get 2-4-1 cocktails. Service was really friendly and approachable. Ambience and music is just cherry on top.
