When I imagined my ideal BBQ restaurant I pictured a humble little spot that proudly served incredible food. After searching across the country for over fifty years, I finally found it! This is the best BBQ I’ve ever tasted served by people whose genuine warmth always makes me feel like part of their family.

You want good BBQ, well here it is with other dishes that are the real deal. Also, best Corn Bread I ever had.......must be moms secret receipt. If your in or near Odessa, you must go for a meal. Friendliest folks running the place too! Simply awesome.

MUST Remember to make a RESERVATION call for the magic SAUSAGE. Everything should dip with Ed’s Magic BBQ SAUCE. No kidding, dip everything with Ed’s Magic BBQ SAUCE will let you experience the BBQ in heaven. Fully smoke flavor are in either sausage, chicken, pulled pork, brisket, and rib. Highly recommend people who pass through Odessa visit here. Ed & Tom can compete with Franklin BBQ in Austin. Ed and Tom are so friendly to guests. Don't forget to speak with them.

Okay, this is a long post so here ya go...Today's culinary adventure!! Ed & Tom's Bar-B-Que for lunch. Big Ed is like that big brother you wished you had. We even met Tom today, she had stopped by in her Sherrif's uniform. So we ordered the All-Star 5 meat plate (all the cuts of meat) and there was so much for both of us, we will be making potato bakers tomorrow. I love the decor, the adult version of coloring on the walls, LOL! There is an array of framed plaques and signs splashed with scripture and love, along with a T.V. with the football game of the hour. Now for the highlight...the meat, it was smoked to perfection, the beans were plump and tasty, the Ed's Mac & Cheese was creamy and smooth. The cornbread was...ooh la la, sweet, melt in your mouth, and buttery! You MUST have the Peach cobbler with the Blue Ribbon ice cream, you will be overjoyed once you have that first bite! So go by and say hello to Big Ed tell him Lyzz sent ya!! Peace Out & Namaste

I ran across this little place in my travels and decided to give it a whirl. Only a few tables here of you choose to dine in like I did. The staff was SUPER FRIENDLY. There is table service here, and you pay at the counter when done. I got the special of the day, "smoked ribeye." This was one of the best steaks I'd ever put in my mouth. Wow! They only do the once a month the owner said. What a rich smokey flavor with their twist on seasoning. This thing was so tender, it literally fell apart. I had potatoes salad and beans with a pickled jalapeño and onion slices. This meal was incredible. Their sweet tea is pretty sweet work a good tea flavor. I also got the peach cobbler with ice cream, definitely homemade, wow! If your ever in the area stop in and give them a shot. 2 thumbs up!!

Best BBQ in Odessa. I ordered 2 days worth of food. The lemonade was so good. Was so sweet. Ribs, oh My God!!!!. And dont even get me started on the cornbread!!!!!!! It was so moist. And they have koolaid. I didnt know that. I'll be getting that next time. The peach cobbler was very good also. I'm from NYC, working the oilfields down in west texas. And I've been disappointed a few times. Untill I found this GEM.

Fantastic small down to earth place. These are the types of places that tourists Don't always have the courage to stop in and try, but they should. Always have amazing customer service as well as great homemade items. Probably the best peach cobbler in town as well as many other dishes. This place's biggest problem is that they don't have enough seating for all the customers they would otherwise have if they had a bigger dining area.

Best BBQ in town. Brisket and ribs were amazing. The beans and potato salad were also fantastic. Amazing spuds too, lot of it to go around

A good little bbq shack on the Southside of Odessa. I entered upon. The tiny dining room me and my brother on a rainy day. We ordered the two meat plate, Brisket and Ribs, because what else is there! I want to taste the good stuff! It comes out about 10 mins later. Came Out with two sides and meat was already smothered in sauce. Well me personally I'd like to see that on the side because not everyone likes sauce on there Brisket. So I dig right into the ribs! The meat was falling off the bone, tender and good smoke flavor. Could have used a little more seasoning but pretty good. The Brisket was tender, probably a little overcooked cause it all came out chopped, but still good. Not the best Brisket I've ever had, but imagine your Uncle Ed cooking a Brisket in the backyard, well that's exactly how it tasted! It was a good meal! Portion. Was not big but not small, filing enough! The star was the Cornbread!@ fantastic!! I'm gonna give em a 3.5 out of 5 for this good backyard Brisket style bbq! Give em a try!

Went here because it was highly rated. But brisket was fatty though we asked for lean. Server said 'Of course' you can order lean brisket, so we ordered double lean brisket and paid $20 including potato salad and beans. Take out, so didn't inspect before leaving. The slice on top was lean, so they had it lean. But the other 3 underneath (and hidden) were quite fatty. Very disappointing. Threw it out. Lesson was to look before you pay/take it.

I've had a lot of food that was "called" BBQ but this is the real deal! Had a BBQ Spud with brisket, beans and sour cream with a Kool-Aid and it was to live for. The amazing southern hospitality was on point and I cant wait to eat there again!

I search for good bbq. I’ve been all over the south, the Midwest, Texas —- if you appreciate great food and the friendliest people, then hit up Ed and Tom’s. It WILL NOT disappoint! It is one of the best bbq spots on the planet. It’s made with love, by people who have dedicated themselves to feeding a community from the heart. Don’t forget the peach cobbler at the end. You won’t have room for it, but you’ll be so glad you did anyway.

  • 5/5 Michelle H. 3 years ago on Google
Amazing people and “Que”! Brisket was heavenly and fell apart with the touch of a fork. Ribs have a nice smokey flavor and the sausage was the best I’ve ever had! Mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy served with sweet tasty corn bread. Loved the sauce and Ed greeted us personally. I would highly recommend this place to bbq lovers!!

  • 5/5 Haasrioeuilponserrms H. 3 years ago on Google
The sausage is made in house and delicious! The brisket was just the right combo of fatty, meaty and burnt ends! So good! But the Mac n cheese surprised us. When we looked at it, it had herbs and bits of mushroom in it. We were skeptical but it was so tasty!!! highly recommend this place

  • 5/5 today p. 3 years ago on Google
I had the rib plate and had to take one rib with me they were so big. Ed gave me some of the chopped beef and pulled pork to try; the whole place is a definite do-over. If you're in the area and looking for great food and a nice experience...head over to Ed and Toms; you will NOT be sorry!

  • 5/5 Leesha M. 1 year ago on Google
My favorite BBQ restaurant in Texas! Everything is house made and fresh. I went with my folks from out of town and they loved it too. Ed and Tom are wonderful people and their food is out of this world. Be sure to try the Mac and cheese too you don't regret it. Can't wait to go back soon! Thank you Ed and Tom for such a wonderful experience. ☺️

I was driving through to Dallas looking for local BBQ. I found Ed and Tom's just off the highway on an industrial road. I'm so glad I went in! Phenomenal BBQ!!! I tried the 5 meat sampler. Ribs, brisket, chicken, pork, and sausage all were great! Service was quick and welcoming, too. I highly recommend Ed and Tom's. You will not be disappointed!

  • 5/5 so m. 3 years ago on Google
Best BBQ! Quick Pitstop heading back to Dallas and this restaurant is a GEM! I ate an entire loaded BBQ brisket spud and got the chicken + brisket platter. Delicious! Cornbread and sides yum! don’t stop anywhere else. Ed was a big hearted character and we’ll stop again next time we roll through Odessa. ACES!!

  • 5/5 Johann R. 1 year ago on Google
The owner is very nice. He will find a reason to give everyone a hard time. The place is small so it may be hard to find a place to sit. Not for big crowds. Only one table to accommodate for about 6 people. The food is good if you want real BBQ from a pit. I have been satisfied with everything I have tried. Best cornbread in Texas.

  • 5/5 Jonathan R. 10 months ago on Google
Absolutely, the best. It’s easy to get caught up in hyperbole, but this place is the absolute best BBQ; and quite affordable. Pulled pork is the best I’ve had (including from NC), brisket melts in your mouth. Ed and staff are charming and attentive. I now have a reason to go back to Odessa.

Our friend works here and I believe is an owner. The food was SO SO good!! If you want BBQ, come here!!! The 3 pound baked potato with ALL the meats was delicious 😋 My husband had half of it and we ate the rest the next day with eggs as leftovers!!!! Will come back as soon as I have another BBQ craving 😋 ❤️

What a hidden gem. This is not your normal BBQ joint. Go in with patience and expect great food.

  • 3/5 James Z. 1 year ago on Google
I have mixed experience at this place. I ordered 3 meat plate with sliced brisket, pulled pork, and ribs for $15. 1. Brisket had nice smoke ring, very tender and juicy. It was as good as any top tier Texas BBQ place. 5/5 2. Pulled pork was very dry and tough. It was like chewing on strings or dry pork jerky. I don't understand how it could be that bad. 1/5 3. I got 1, yes, 1 single bone of rib. For $15 on a 3 meat plate, you would think each meat cost $5. $5 for 1 rib was very unreasonable. Plus the rib was dry and overcooked. 2/5 The sides were also unimpressive. There is a tablespoon scoop of potato salad, and some very overcooked green beans. The corn bread was decent. Not even a slice of bread to go with a $15 plate like all other traditional Texas BBQ places.

Stopped in for a late lunch on our way home to Minnesota and we were amazed by how great the food was. We got a Peter Pan, brisket sandwich, mac and cheese and very tasty corn bread. Staff were super friendly and even had us sign their wall! Would highly recommend to all!

Just tried Ed & Tom's Bar-B-Que and they did not disappoint. We've been looking for a great bbq place and we have found it. Great food, great people...can't beat it.

  • 5/5 Its J. 4 months ago on Google
Had to see come see for myself. The food is not highly or over seasoned thats how it’s supposed to be. It tasted like that bbq at a family function you just had to get a plate to go so you can really enjoy it on focus on the tenderness of the ribs, brisket, and homemade sausages. Oh and that cornbread is good too. The peach cobbler was good but not better than my wife’s 😂. I’ll be back Ed. And no photos cause I finished before I made it home. I pray God will continue to prosper your business.

Great food. The pulled pork was done perfectly and the mac n’ cheese was fantastic! Super polite and friendly staff. In my experience, the most authentic and best food is in the places you least suspect, this BBQ joint reaffirms this for me! I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a quick bite off the highway.

Could not have asked for a better lunch stop while driving from Terlingua to Fort Worth! Fantastic and friendly service. Great option for both a meat-eater and a vegetarian. Brisket and sausage was as good as they get. The cornbread was unlike any cornbread we’d had before, buttery and delicious. To top it all off, the peach cobbler cups were hot and heapin’! Thank you!
