I travel all over the state of Texas to try different barbecue places. I am writing this review as someone who has had some of the best barbecue around the State of Texas, and a few places in Tennessee. Swadley's did not come close to having great barbecue, but it did suffice my need for food and desire for the taste of barbecue. I had the sliced brisket plate with a side of potato salad and beans. The brisket is a bit underwhelming but not all that bad. The sides were ok. It seems that the people of OKC like this place. I guess I'm just too critical when it come to barbecue. We all have different tastes, and this place doesn't do it for me. The staff is very friendly. The service was good. The place is clean and lively.

Was not a bad visit. The service from start to finish was spot on. The restaurant is kept clean and comfortable. Had the brisket and sausage combo with sweet beans and okra. The brisket was really good but the sausage was dry and flavorless and way below average. The beans were good and the okra was great. Would definitely eat there again but will skip the sausage. Wish I could remember the servers name because he did an excellent job.

I went in there yesterday and the staff was amazing to my family! I go in every time and everything is always great! There was no ribs yesterday around 8 however thats understandable because they were very busy when I drove by after work. My family and I always love how they are towards us and the management is very helpful towards everyone! I love going every weekend because the food is great! Wyatt is such a great server! He is always doing his job very well! I Always recommend this place to everyone I know because of how great the entire staff is! Can’t wait to go back in next Saturday!

Heres the honest review: great place, absolutely worth going to There are 3 parts to bbq. The meat, the sauce, and the service. The meats i had were brisket and pork. Both were awesome but the pork was definitely a cut above. The service was so good it was almost creepy. Like they read my mind always ready to help. Very southern and very appreciated. If i had to give one critique, it would be thr sauce. I like my sauces bold and flavorful but not sweet. Their bold sauce definitely was a 5/5, however none of their other sauces were even really appealing to me. Absolutely go here if you have the chance!

Ordered food at home, than drive 10 mins to restaurant. It’s my first time here and I wanted to do curbside but there was not a designated area. I saw the drive thru so I went through. There were two cars in front of me and I am still sitting here 20 minutes later!!!!!! My food is going to be rubbery and cold. Don’t use the drive thru unless you clear your week to wait until your dust because your cannot leave once you’re in line due to the design of the building. When I asked about the curbside the lady rudely told me we don’t do that here.

Full disclosure: I ordered takeout, but took a little tour while I waited. So I’ve seen the inside a little. I have to admit I felt a twinge of sadness when I saw the salad bar. I would have to forgo this time. I ordered the brisket and sausage combo. It came with two sides so I chose the spicy beans and paid the upcharge for the baked potato. Glad I did. The baked potato was huge. The toppings came on the side including butter, sour cream and a ton of shredded cheddar cheese. Now for the meat of the review. The brisket was tender and had a pretty good flavor. The sausage had a snap and some spice. Above average flavor and what I would expect from a small chain restaurant. The sauces that came with were pretty average except for the spicy. It was actually spicy abs really made the sausage pop! The sweet was sweet and the others were ok. The spicy beans were also kind of spicy, but then again, I’m a pepper head and like it hot. Overall it was a very stable brand and would definitely recommend to anyone else passing through.

First off you walk in and get hit with that comforting smoke smell probably best thing about the place! I had the brisket burnt ends they where tender and flavorful portion sizes just right. Sweet tea 9/10 would go ahead and give it a 10 but no one can beat grandmas sweet tea it’s a rule. The place has a nice home feeling prices are maybe a buck or two high but food was great!

Swadley's had some great tasting barbecue. I got the signature sampler platter and my colleague got the chicken fried steak and said it wad great. The green beans were excellent as well. Our server was very helpful and shared all of the cool things to do while in Oklahoma City. Swadley's also catered our client's business lunch today and they did a great job serving up smoked beef brisket and barbecue chicken.

Really good stuff. You won't be disappointed by the service or the food. The BBQ sauces all have their own good qualities and the spicy in particular has a good tingle. The sides are all varied. The fries are fresh, so you need to eat them quickly. The jalapeño sweet corn needed more salt and a touch more spicy. Sandwich portions are generous for the price. Given the current pandemic, they're taking social distance seriously and have moved to a more full service model. Drinks were refilled quick and the server was attentive despite the busy lunch rush.

I love this Christian restaurant! Amazing service-was treated so kindly and with respect, amazing food-(the pulled pork was best), and amazing service-always there to refill drinks, ask for assistance, and are so friendly. The waiters and waitresses also treat each other kindly and with respect which is a big thing. Free ice cream machine too!

Excellent atmosphere with a real country feel. The food is excellent and they have their own barbeque sauce, which is delicious, by the way.

Not planning on eating here again. The meat is mostly fat. Hardly any meat at all. Seems like nobody knows how to do anything besides stand around & watch people eat. Very poor service. Bbq meat should have little to no fat. Our "waiter" only checked on us 1 time. That was not even 2 minutes after we got our food. The other "waiter" just stood around watching his table eat & waiting for them to leave. These kids need to learn the meaning of Customer Service.

@ the response by owner - I emailed you several weeks ago and received nothing back! ** SIDE NOTE THE RECEIPT CLEARLY SAYS WHAT IM SUPPOSED TO HAVE AND I CLEARLY GOT CORN. I loved this place but the last 2 times I’ve ordered from here there’s been a problem. Like a week ago I didn’t get my side of Mac and cheese instead I got no cheese on my salad so I call tell the manger give them another chance and the next time I come in they make sure to give me my side they forgot last time but instead of giving me my correct sides in my meal they gave me the wrong thing. I spend roughly $30 everytime I come in and sometimes that can be multiple times a week. Very disappointed with the fact I can’t even get my meal and eat what I paid for.

My ribs were a little dry but still super delicious! Husband had the catfish dinner and really enjoyed it! The gentleman taking the orders at the front and our server really made this a five star experience though. Adaria was excellent taking care of us at our table!

By far my favorite BBQ place in Oklahoma. Loaded spud, every time. Side of hot links, side of mac&cheese. DELICIOUS. The free soft serve at the end is a perfect finish as well. *They sell their sauce as well, it has no high fructose corn syrup which is has become rare on bbq anymore. I can go through a bottle a week.

Most of the food was very good but portions were too small for the prices, especially the sides. Usually our family takes home leftovers but there weren't any because portions were so small. Ordered the burnt ends dinner but they were not like any burnt ends I've had before. They were chewy and seemed like a cheap piece of meat. Not smokey, not burnt, or tender or falling apart like I've had at other places. I exchanged it for pulled pork which was much better. Wish they had a kids mac and cheese meal so I ordered a 3.50 side of mac and cheese for my child and it was tiny :( Pulled pork and smoked chicken were good and sauces were good. Salad bar was good too. I like that you order from the counter but wish you could get your own sauces and drinks instead of having a waitress. We appreciated the complimentary soft serve ice cream. It was not the best quality (similar to the icy kind you get at a Chinese buffet but still good enough for being included and great for the kids). Creamed corn, fries, and onion straws were good.

This is delicious barbecue!!! The electricity on the block went out while we were eating but the food is sooo delicious! Their fried okra was amazing! And their Mac and cheese... divine. They just changed to white cheddar, which is usually hit or miss on taste, but they totally hit it! I had their sausage and it was really good. Their basic BBQ sauce was quite delicious and their sweet tea was tasty (not old tasting at all!). I'm very impressed and will definitely return! Just a note, you pay up front when you order, but they serve you your drinks, food, sauces, etc and definitely earn a tip. I didn't realize how it worked when I first went in, so just a heads up... tips would be definitely earned! (I thankfully had cash on hand)

Update. First time ordering their Burnt Ends, and never again. They are over cooked, dry, and the size of a dime,as you can see on the pictures. I love their food but this was surprising. I guess 1 bad plate out of 100 isn't bad odds but I was just trying something new and highly disappointed. However, I got to give props where it's due. They have some amazing food and service. I mean, you gotta take off your shoes before you eat that amazing peach cobbler,so you can wiggle your toes with you're eating it lol. No kidding it's that good. Food so good and the Peach cobbler is amazing

Haven’t had Swadleys in 5+ years, got done working out at the gym with a bud and this was within walking distance. I tried the Oklahoma Sampler and for the price I thought the pulled pork/sliced turkey was good, ribs were decent, but I really judge bbq by the brisket and it was very underwhelming and dry even when ordering moist. Baked beans were good, okra was far too salty, nice selection of sauces. Staff & service was great so being cognizant of Swadley’s being a chain and what they offer at their prices and considering the evolution of competitive bbq in OKC I’d give this a 4 overall. For anyone (looking at the guy who traveled from Texas & ate here of all places to judge Okie bbq) wanting world class bbq go to Jo-Bawb’s, Clark Crew, Butchers, etc where they have championship winning bbq and are all winners of highly touted invitational competitions, this is a family friendly price conscious bbq joint.

I enjoyed enjoyed everything! I had the ribs, sweet beans, and seasoned fries. I rate the ribs an 8.5 out of 10, the sweet beans an 8 and the fries 7.5. The waitstaff was amazing and I rate them a 9.5. My drinks stayed refilled and so was the BBQ sauce. Over all I recommend 👌🏽. Stay blessed 🙏🏼

Excellent service! Our waitress came by to ask how are food was and I pointed out that my brisket had two end cuts which were dry. In moments a manager was there and left basically an additional order of brisket. We were very happy with the okra, brisket, green beans, rolls, and tea.

Can I add this extra🌟 for atmosphere?!😁 not only is this food delicious but here are a few of my other fav things - best smoked chicken - hands down best sides at any other local bbq place.. so many options I always want them all! - the salad bar is always fire - also best salad bar in the local area! - bbq flavor options and free ice cream? Yes please Lastly, can I just say God bless swadleys?! I was absolutely blown away with the entry way with a bible open and a notebook for prayer requests. This is so brave in 2023 and the boldness and heart behind this brings me so much joy. Keep up the great food and work swadleys! You’re repping Jesus well! ♥️

It's an average bar-b-q restaurant. They run out ribs, potatoes, brisket, etc. after 6:30pm. 😳 I think you get the hint.

  • 3/5 Gods G. 3 years ago on Google
Food was good tastes fresh. Ribs were a little fatty but I suppose that's a pork rib for ya. .Went through the drive thru didn't take too long as they were really busy inside and in drive thru.

  • 1/5 Tracy G. 3 years ago on Google
They have apparently changed how they do their ribs, they are now dry not really any moisture and not much flavor. I used to love their ribs, I won’t order them again, don’t understand why they felt they had to change from a rib that was moist to one with not much flavor and definitely doesn’t taste like it’s been smoked. Ribs at the Memorial Rd restaurant are not the Swadleys Standard I had become used to.

Bar-B-Que is top notch. Went yesterday and ordered the brisket and ribs. Both were really good. Servers are very friendly and attentive. Manager even stopped by to ensure we were doing well. Peach cobbler a la mode...amazing! Love that they are a Christian company - it shows in their service.

Pros: smoked chicken This is a regular takeout spot. I order online and the food is always delicious. The diner is southern country vibes. The smoked chicken salad hits the spot! I have to resist the strawberry cake everytime I dine in.

The food was amazing! The portions for the main dish was soo big, the sides could be a little larger but it was still great. The best part of the experience was your lunch shift workers. Very polite, energetic, laughing it was a nice atmosphere for lunch! Great job!

Wife and I took the grandkids for a barbecue treat yesterday evening to Swadley's at Quail Springs Mall. I never even knew that kids eat 1/2 price on Monday nights. What a bonus!! Such a great place! Kids love the grilled cheese and macaroni and my wife and I always split the Sampler. We always order an extra rib so we both get one. Tonight the ribs were extra juicy. Brisket was fresh and hot too, like it just came out of the pit. Service is always good too. Love that sweet tea!!! Glad to see that great food and service haven't gone out of style.

I have eaten here before and loved it. This evening (8-10-20) we decided to have it for dinner as a family. We ordered takeout and got our sauces and such like normal, my dad drove an hour home and I went to my apartment to eat. I enjoyed my meal. However by the time my dad got home and sat down to eat, he saw this on his sauce. A significant amount of mold growing, yes growing, on the underside of his sauce (he had the Bold N Tangy sauce). I immediately checked mine and didn't see any thankfully but where there's any mold there's more. Honestly, four meals for $75 to end up receiving mold is highly upsetting. I hope they can work on keeping their things a bit more sanitary. I could have went the rest of my day from seeing that after I had eaten all of my own meal but what can you do I guess. I can handle some pretty gross things but this coming from a restaurant, that's not cheap I might add, is unacceptable.

Tried the Oklahoma Sampler - a lot of food for the money, but tasty, soft, melt-in-your-mouth meats on top of the value. I was a big fan of the turkey, which I don't always enjoy so much at BBQ joints. The green beans were a highlight in terms of side dishes. I will certainly be returning here to try more!

  • 4/5 Bea D. 3 years ago on Google
My grandson insisted on this restaurant...he said the ribs were fantastic on his last visit with his Dad and couldn't wait to eat them again. We got there at 7pm and there were no ribs and no sausage. The pics of the food when you check-in is helpful. I was asked how much I was going to tip so they could run the tip on my debit card when I ordered. I base a tip on good or bad service, you might deserve less or more than 20%. I requested the plain chopped brisket sandwich and got the sandwich with every meat under the sun. Our second order was a plain burger...it came completely dressed...they made us another. The sweet tea and corn were perfect. The staff was friendly, but, unattentive so we had to keep asking for refills. The restrooms needed attention.

My family loves Swadley's. We frequent the Enid, El Reno, & Memorial locations. The food is always great, however the service we have come to expect and enjoy at the different locations has been lacking at the Memorial location for four consecutive visits, while the other locations are excellent as always. We will not be back to this specific location for awhile, definitely worth a farther drive for a better experience.

Dear Swadleys, When I order the $18 fish dinner, I expect to get more fish than breading. It was all so thin, I would get sent home from school for wearing something too revealing. If I wanted corn meal chips, I could have made them myself for $0.05. I honestly feel bad for this poor fish and that you all didn't feed him apparently his whole life, only to be breaded and thrust into a box and not even be honored with being eaten. This is catfish prosciutto. It's a dollar store shower curtain. It's an unflattering catfish negligee. I could load this in a printer and not get a jam. It's an ant parachute! We eat here about once a month or so and usually have wonderful food. This was certainly not one of those times.

I came in the other day for togo food, I have to say the food is good the corn is great! But what really stood out was the was cashier I think her name was Destiny. She had such a good attitude its been such a hard year I'm getting used to the wore out and checked out type of interaction I'm guilty. She pulled me out of it and reminded me that there are friendly welcoming people. Bravo Swadleys 👏

So i was there a few days ago and i have to say the food was good but i will say the cherry on top had to be the manager destanie was an absolute rock star she was so full of life and so kind to all the guests at her restaurant the level of enthusiasm that she had in my opinion could only mean that there's no way but up for her and i truly hope that swadleys doesn't sckwander the opportunity to advance her into a upper level management position Destanie!!!! Destanie!!!! Destanie!!!!!

The food was great but be aware that there is no sauce included in the meal. Kinda odd that it isn't included in a meal combo. It is on the menu but I didn't see it. Unfortunately I did take out and had to use sauce from a earlier order I placed at Billy Slims and had in my fridgeat my hotel. I suggest you ask your customers if they want bbq sauce...at a BBQ place.
