There is no breakfast, at least for now, so be aware if you stay here you will need to go elsewhere for breakfast. The place is quite clean, though our bed was not comfortable. Every time we called, i got the feeling he'd forgotten about us. There's no way to book the room on the website so we had to call, and even after the first conversation i wasn't confident. So we emailed closer to the date of our trip and asked if we're still on the calendar and he confirmed yes, and asked us to call the day of our trip. On the day we wrre heading up, we called in the morning and got an "oh...right...call an hour before you get here." So we called again an hour before and didn't get an answer. Finally about 15 minutes before we get there he picks up and we tell him we're almost there and he says "oh right, I'll let the housekeeper know." The whole process did not inspire confidence. My husband was also initally told we would get a room with a balcony but when we got there we were led to a room with no balcony and there was an electrician still working on an outlet. We sat outside for about 10 minutes waiting for him to finish. The parking is not free. There is very limited parking behind the house, and they charge $15/day to park. We left our car there and walked/bussed everywhere because we didn't want to lose our parking. The best things about the BnB are 1) location - they are close to chinatown and the Kensington market area, and in general are pretty centrally located. Toronto is fairly easy to get around using public transportation too. 2) price is pretty good, but you also aren't getting a whole lot. 3) there is a nice Bechstein grand piano on the ground floor.

Beware! I don't recommend staying there during winter. The B&B does not plow its parking lot, and I had to use the TTC to get to meetings instead of my car as it was stuck. When I asked why they have not cleared the parking area, they indicated they never do, and that they are not responsible for cars getting stuck in their parking lot! She indicated they say this to everyone, but "forgot to tell me." In any case, it took over 3 hours, and a missed medical appointment to get out of there, not to mention the inconvenience of having to take the TTC around for a day, walking to nearby fast-food restaurants out of necessity and changing my plans. I had to help shovel my car out, and they did not even refund me for the inconvenience. So, if you stay when it is cold enough to snow, be prepared that you may need to extend your stay. To be fair, location was convenient and my room was clean but no shampoo and other amenities were provided aside from a bar of soap! Also, website says parking is free, but they charge $15/night and indicated website was out of date.

Best thing about this is how close it is to everything. It is in a great location for walking to restaurants, U of T and theatre venues. BUT it is inconvenient For parking and the owner should have warned people about this, particularly about not parking in front of the house. Almost impossible to know where to park initially. But since they rely on repeat business, it is clear that once you know about the situation, it is no longer a problem. The bathroom and shower was very small and shampoo was missing in the rooftop suite. Though a fairly large room, the floors were creaky, the bed hard, and the TV difficult to operate. Missing a large mirror in the bedroom and the one in the bathroom not useful because it is such a small space. Taken separately, these are small irritants but in total, they made my stay less enjoyable.

Beautiful, quiet, Victoria-style room. I luckily moved in one of the biggest room in the B&B, which is well-furnished and warmhearted. The whole structure is reasonable, and there are approximately 4 rooms on one floor, so it's a really quiet and relaxed place for those who first come to Toronto. And, the breakfast is fresh and tasty as well. I did have a wonderful experience when staying in that house!

I really enjoyed my stay here. It is very close to the University of Toronto and the Fields Institute, and it is reasonably priced. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, and free wi-fi and breakfast are included, too. The only drawback I found was that I couldn't book online, and they preferred a cash payment to a credit card. I definitely recommend staying here if you are visiting U of T or the Fields Institute. I think it is a much better value than the other chain hotels that are nearby.

While the two rooms we stayed in, and the home itself is lovely, several details are sub-par for this downtown Toronto location compared to B&Bs in the neighbourhood. Black mould on shower curtains, burnt out lightbulbs, wall patching without paint, rusty nails in the shower stall, stale breakfast cereal and over-boiled eggs, duvets without covers. The hostess lacks sincerity, but is nosy. She blatantly suggested cash terms without shame , didn't say "Thank you" when handed $500, and had to be prompted for a receipt. No service or amenities provided beyond ** service.

Comfortable beds. Awesome soaking tubs. Tasteful, stately decor, not cutesy or frilly. Quiet street, quiet house. Beautiful period house & furnishings. Nearby Starbucks. Close to UT & vibrant China town restaurants & shopping.

My friend & I stayed in the 2 third floor rooms from 5/16-5/18 when we came to see the Kusama exhibit at the Art Gallery of Ontario. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Beverly Place. The location was ideal. We were within walking distance of the Art Gallery, Eaton Center and the downtown area. The weather was nice enough to enjoy the rooftop terrace outside of my room.
