😠 Half decent set of weights, locker rooms way too small, shower and sauna never work, WAY TOO COSTLY for a poor gym membership. If you have to settle for a membership near you...then why not? People often mention staff, equipment, workout, clean, friendly, pool,

More adult friendly. Less crowded. No pool, but there is a sauna. I prefer this over the Briggs when I don't have my kids with me. There is a kid zone, but my kids are too old to want to be there.

Decent staff, decent weights, and decent programs (Soul cycle, etc...) Very low price, sliding scale memberships, or free of you know someone with a membership and bring them with. All in all, a good place for your daily (or less often) workout routine. I would've gave 5 stars, but there's no pool.

If you like to lift barbells, they have two cages, two bench press benches, and an overhead press bench. There's almost nobody here at 7 am on weekdays either. The staff are friendly and helpful, and will give you a free tour and a free trial of one day. The downside is that this place costs as much as Anytime Fitness per month, yet it has more limited hours.

Terrible hours. Closes 1:30 pm to 4 pm. Those hours are the best workout hours.

This is a very very small gym. We visited here while in town and compared to our local Y it's super small. The equipment is very different. A lot of the stationary weight equipment as well as the cardio room upstairs seemed outdated. But it was at least an option in town to get some exercises in. The only reason we went here was because the other South Sound Y closed way too early on the day we went.

Super Low key, has a Sauna and Child care. Fully loaded with most training equipment. You have exclusivity for most of the time. This place is for people who like to workout in peace.

I’m no gym rat; this place has been a sanctuary for my family to develop a healthier lifestyle. We love the Y360 app we can use in a room if we’re too late for a class.

I need to get in shape and the exercise equipment is easy to use and understand. The gym is clean and comfortable, and I feel great going there. I see others there in the same boat I am, and everyone is wonderful. Thanks YMCA!

Staff is very helpful and friendly as they try to help the homeless community with a place to to shower. If you can give your support by donating shower items.

I was in town on business. The workers were very helpful in assisting me each time I went to workout. The gym is clean and has a lot of new equipment. I went in the evening and morning and never found it to be too crowded. I work out here again if I'm ever in the area.

The downtown YMCA has moved to this location, we stopped in to see about race packets for an up coming race. The inside gym is pretty updated with awesome weights and machines for an excellent workout. This facility does not have a pool though, need to go to Briggs YMCA or Tumwater Valley Athletic Club for the pool.

2.5 stars. A decent selection of workout machines for lunchtime exercise. No basketball court, swimming pool, or other amenities a larger Y would have. Good luck with parking, they have a tiny lot if you don't want to pay.

Great environment and employees here. The actual gym equipment leaves something to be desired when paying the price of the YMCA. Also lack of mirrors in auxiliary rooms is strange. But the cleanliness and the convenience keeps me going.

I go yo the Y for exercise AND community and because it fills me with joy! So much connection there from the minute I walk in the door! The wonderful front desk staff shine out their greetings with big, sincere smiles which always lifts my spirits, you betcha! And the classes are wonderful, what a smorgasbord of excellent, fun teachers teaching a big range of interesting things, and members can try almost all of them for no additional cost. I find that incredible. I meet great people in the classes; after just 2 months, I have gotten to begin some meaningful friendships. And last, but NOT least, many of my friends attend attend classes there, what a treat!

I had a overall grievous experience at this Y. The front desk staff here were extremely unwelcoming and disrespectful from the first day that I visited this branch. Brandon, Jessica, Dominique, and another kid that works weekday evenings are the staff I'm referring to. I tried voicing my concerns with Bryan and Michelle even Kyle Cronk who are in management but they sided with their staff and all went into incognito.

The Plum Street Y is clean, well-lit, well-ventilated, and has numerous well-maintained exercises machines and freeweights.

I'm a member and it's awesome to have a healthy and safe place to go where everyone knows your name.

There's not much there but work out equipment and 3 showers in the ladies room plus a sauna. No pool no extras 🤷🏼‍♀️

I like the relative openness of exercising at Plum St.; it is hardly ever over-crowded (though it was close last night, 11-20). The facility is kept clean, including the locker rooms. And, lastly, the equipment is almost always kept in good working order. *See below for exceptions. The staff at Plum St. is friendly, knowledgeable and responsive. *While most/all exercise machines have been in good working order in the past two years I've been a member; but there are now two exceptions.* 1.) The leg extension machine has two significant horizontal tears in the pad that one rests one's legs on. When I flex to lift the bar the splits in the pad grab my skin/hair and pull as I extend my legs. It is painful. I have pointed this serious flaw to staff 4-5 times over the past 2-3 months. Nothing has been done. 2.) ALL the TV screens on the treadmill and stationary bikes are set at an incorrect resolution, this shrinks the size of the visible screen and cuts off about 1/4 of the height & width of what's shown on the screen. This is most noticeable when watching a news program or sports event, where text on the screen is cut off, and significantly impairs what's shown. As in the pad on the leg extension machine, I've pointed this flaw out to staff 4-5 times over the past 2-3 months. PLEASE FIX THESE FLAWS!! Thanks from all the members. Jim Longley, Olympia.

They never have childcare available. Always some excuse.

🫤 2.5 ⭐ The facilities are ok. Nothing to remark on those, alright building, good selection of classes. I'm giving a lower rating because of cleanliness. Most of the classes that I attended are in the multipurpose room upstairs. The floor is always dirty! They host a youth program and then a yoga cla...

😐 Needs to step up communication and professionalism. This is the second time I've had my new member orientation canceled without notification. I understand that trainers get hurt but they have my contact information to notify me. It's disrespectful of my time, and they don't care.

🫤 Loved the coaches and the classes. However, their communication stinks when you have to cancel your membership. I needed to and had seven classes remaining that I had paid for. The app said I had until the end of April to use them and apparently that was incorrect. Front desk never let me know d...

👍👍 I’m so excited to have found Whetstone!! After learning that my gym was closing last week, I was on the hunt for a new gym. I tried one work out at a “big box” gym that I will not name, and I wasn’t happy there. At all. Whetstone had crossed my mind many times over my 9 years in Olympia, yet I had n...
