Took the cooking class here and it was simply amazing. They pick you up in Bangkok and you go to two local markets where you learn about Thai ingredients and get to try a few of them. From the second market, you take a boat to the restaurant. Because these are private classes, you can arrange your preferred menu in advance. Aoywaan is right by the river and the restaurant grows many things, like bananas, right in the garden. Aoy knows so much about Thai food, she is the perfect person to learn from. And she's so personable that she makes you feel right at home. Would totally recommend both the cooking classes and the food at the restaurant, which is superb - and not just because we cooked it. I've also been to the restaurant before and that's why I decided to take the cooking class here. I was so impressed with the food that I knew I wanted to learn some of those dishes. Overall it deserves 5 stars.

Aoywaan is a culinary destination – highly recommended for Thai residents and foreign visitors searching for authentic Thai cooking. Much of the foods are made from local organically-grown ingredients. Also, the pastes used in the preparation of the dishes are freshly made with each order. To match the quality of the food and the efforts in preparing them, they are served in quality traditionally-designed tableware. And the ambience? A boutique restaurant located by a quiet river. The only downside is that one might miss the narrow lane to the restaurant.

Delicious and healthy. Each dish rich with herbs and spices. I love the food presentations and appreciate the plate setting with banana leaf. I can’t decide which drinks to order so I ordered all four and it all so refreshing.

Best cooking class I’ve ever done! I cannot emphasize enough how fantastic the all day cooking class experience was. Aoy, the restaurant owner, truly went above and beyond to make this a memorable and enriching culinary journey that immersed us in the wonders of Thai cuisine and culture. From the moment we stepped into the class, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. Aoy's passion for Thai cuisine was contagious, and her extensive knowledge made the class accessible and enjoyable for beginners like us. We learned so much in a short time and felt a great sense of accomplishment as we cooked up a storm of delectable dishes. The food itself was absolutely incredible. Each dish we prepared was bursting with authentic flavors and made from the freshest ingredients. We were thrilled to discover that we could take the leftovers home, and let me tell you, those meals sustained us with joy for days after the class. It was a true testament to the quality and deliciousness of the food. Undoubtedly, the cooking class at Aoywaan Riverside Thai Cuisine became the highlight of our entire trip. Not only did we gain valuable culinary skills, but we also had the opportunity to embark on an amazing market tour, immersing ourselves in the vibrant local food scene. The restaurant itself was a hidden gem, nestled in a serene riverside location. The ambiance was enchanting, allowing us to relax and fully absorb the beauty of our surroundings. What truly sets Aoywaan Riverside Thai Cuisine apart is the wonderful staff. Every member of the team was friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about ensuring our experience was unforgettable. They also took great pictures throughout the class, capturing precious memories without us having to worry about it. Their thoughtfulness allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the cooking process and savor every moment. It's also important to note that Aoywaan Riverside Thai Cuisine is a welcoming and inclusive establishment. As a gay couple, my boyfriend and I felt completely at ease throughout the entire experience. Aoy and her team created an environment where we felt comfortable, and respected. In conclusion, if you are looking for an extraordinary culinary adventure in Thailand, I wholeheartedly recommend Aoywaan Riverside Thai Cuisine. Aoy's expertise, the incredible food, the awe-inspiring market tour, the tranquil ambiance, and the warm and friendly staff all contribute to an unforgettable experience. Whether you're a seasoned cook or a beginner like us, this cooking class will exceed your expectations and leave you with memories that will last a lifetime.

Good restaurant by river. Really like this place because they use natural things for food presentation (look at photos). Food is good with hight price a bit but good quality. Staff is so friendly and I enjoy the view and atmosphere. I think you have to drive there because I don’t see public transportation. Small entrance and area for car parking. Really recommend if you like restaurant by River with good atmosphere.

Good food and good presentation. Friendly owner and attentive staff. Nice ambience both indoor and outdoor. All dishes are good. Though a little bit sweet. Deep fried seabass was perfectly cooked soft and crispy. Fresh fish. Spicy Pamelo salad was so tasty. Fried pork with fried gallingale. Pork was tender. Five-rice salad mixed with sun-dried gourami fish (ปลาสลิดแดดเดียว) Braised beef stir fry was tendor. Somtam roll was good. Highly recommeded.

My favourite Thai authentic cuisine. Recommended for everyone to try their taste. Everything was nice until I ordered takeaway for my family and still nice after overnights. At the shop, they have tasteful menus and great service. Nice river view too. They also have some local veggies and fruits selling at the shop. Your foreigner guests must love it too!

A hidden gem, with wonderfully presented delicious food in a cool Ibiza-style setting. If in the area, you must try it. The place is run by a brother (Earth) & sister (Aoy), lovely people. The food was really amazing. I'll post some pics of what we ate. Use Google Maps to find the place, as its down a narrow hidden track off the main road.

My friends and I found out about this restaurant because some of our friends from Bangkok and California told to come try the food and see the restaurant ourselves. It’s a destination restaurant, because you have to know or heard about it somewhere or from someone to search for it. It took us 45 minutes by car to get to Aoywaan from Bangkok city. We ordered 6 dishes and are amazed by all of them. The flavors are rich and taste very authentic like food I had eaten at the house of my best friend’s grandma in Bangkok. Their signature cocktails are original and delicious, and so are their coffee and dessert. The portions are generous and all of us enjoyed a wonderful long lunch with a great view of the river and sunset. And, Aoywaan restaurant also offer private cooking classes and market tours everyday. I did it with 5 friends last month, and I highly recommend taking the class. We had such a blast. We ate the food we cooked and the owners, who are great chefs and also so much fun to be with. For sure I will be back at Aoywaan again.

This review is for the cooking class, but I can say the restaurant on its own would've been wonderful too! I don't even know how I'll summarize how fun this was -- I almost don't want to tell other people about it since I'd like it to remain the relatively hidden gem that it is and enjoy it again next time I come to Bangkok...but I'll choose not to be selfish: This experience was beyond what I had hoped for, it was in fact like I was in my own little independent movie for the day. Aoy and her very kind nieces Mod and May welcomed me to the waterside restaurant after my relaxing little riverboat ride there. A quick welcome snack and drink later and it was time to get to cooking...I'm sure there's a set plan for the day if you don't have any special requests but once I mentioned my favorite Thai dish it was added to my curriculum. What followed was a gym-session's worth of slicing, frying, laughing, singing, and dishing before I ate what I had made (with a lot of help), in addition to a delicious house-prepared special dessert I had no idea was coming. So very tasty. In short: if you are up for something different from all the standard tours, and especially if you enjoy cooking and/or Thai cuisine at all, you'll want to book this. Thank you Chef, thank you ladies, and thank you to the restaurant staff as well.

Superb. Hidden gems of Nakorn Pathom. Aoywaan serves Thai Royal Cuisine (not typical Thai food). Please see the pics for yourself. Car parking is limited, recommend to park at Wat Tha Pood (วัดท่าพูด) and take the boat taxi 5 minutes to the restaurant pier. Price is considerably high due to the quality of food and services. Staff and the owners are friendly and attentive. Please do not hesitate to seek food recommendation. Strongly recommend.

Chef Aoy is keenly upholding traditional dishes and methods, while winning Iron Chef with an innovative dessert and also catering to vegans and vegetarians with enthusiasm. Chill spot by the river, catching the breeze. Cooking lessons available.

I recommend to come here since the food, service and atmosphere is very good. The only hard part is how to come here, it’s a very cramped soi and that’s the only bad part. I recommend to try this restaurant out when you are here!

Excellent food. It is a hidden gem. Worth the trip and we will return soon. The entrance is very tiny, you will miss it. The restaurant is by the river. Reservation is recommended due to limited seating and can be crowded. The food is amazing. There's so many things that we would like to order. We ordered the Pomelo Salad, Wing Beans Salad, Shrimp in a paeneng like curry and duck curry. All excellent. The duck takes time to cook. So, be prepared. Enjoy

We have been at Aoy's restaurant once before for a cooking class which was excellent was well, but decided to return just for a lunch this time and we were treated to an absolutely incredible meal. The location of the restaurant is simply stunning, a little outside Bangkok so that you feel you can escape the city for a bit and right next to a river that adds so much relaxing calm to the meal. The food itself is incredible - fresh, flavorful food made all the more enjoyable by the friendly and attentive staff. Aoy herself is one of the sweetest and kindest people we have met and her energy and laughter adds so much joy and life to the restaurant. An absolute must visit.

Food are tasty but Avocado salad is little pricey, Avogadro salad. Smoothie of Papaya and basil leaf is recommended, comparing to coconut smoothie. Pad Thai is good. Eating Person who not accustomed to hot chili pepper, should be careful of Okura salad. Atmosphere of eating outside seeing the river view in day time is not recommended because of fly.

Shady atmosphere. Thai-style ceramic bowls and beautifully decorated plates. The price is quite high. But it comes with quite a bit of food quantity. Good service staff and good-natured The restaurant owner has also competed in the Iron Chef Thailand program. Menu Rice Cracker(Khao tang na tang) : Served with herb sauce, pork and minced shrimp. Crispy rice is just right. Goes well with the sauce. Stir-fried catfish: The restaurant manages its ingredients well. The fish is not fishy at all. The fish is bouncy. The taste is hot and spicy a little after eating. Betel leaves and crab in coconut curry: The curry has a thick flavor. But give Betel leaves There are a lot of leaves coming. The crab meat was only spread on the top, resulting in not getting as much crab meat as expected. Grouper fish tom yum with banana: very delicious. The taste is sour but also mellow. There's a lot of grouper meat. The bananas that were added went well together. Avocado Salad with Shrimp and Shrimp: The shrimp were very big. Avocados come in soft and freshly ripe avocados that are both soft and crunchy. Bua loy in coconut: fragrant candle smoke, soft flesh coconut meat, but adding bland bua loy does not absorb the coconut milk.

We were in the area visiting the organic market, and found this place for dinner. Everything was delicious, especially the Massaman curry (the chicken just fell off the bone!). Khun Earth and Khun Aoywaan were both friendly, welcoming hosts. Both speak English so could help anyone who cannot read/speak Thai. We left very full, and happy. Hope to see you again before we leave Thailand! Jamie & Blaize.
