I have been a loyal customer for many years with three dogs. My dog had ear infections in both ears. I couldn't get an appointment for less than six weeks in advance. I only got enough medicine for one ear. I was charged for the additional medicine needed. The vet told me to bring her back after 14 days for a follow up. I didn't know it was my responsibility to make the follow up appointment. My dog and I sat in the room for follow up the for over an hour waiting for the results. I was charged for the visit. AAH gives excellent care but, are now overbooked and expensive.

There are two wonderful nurses I don’t know the names of that always made the experience so much better but I’m leaving American animal hospital and cannot recommend it due to terrible communication. I’ve had numerous experiences with this problem. First one being they called me when I had an emergency vet appointment for my baby and told me they would call me when I should come get him. They closed early that day and called me and wanted to know if I was on my way when they never gave me a call telling me to come get him. That happened two times, one with a regular appointment. Also my boyfriend needed to drop off my cat for surgery and pick him up because I worked and he communicated with them that he needed to be called when we could get him since I worked (I additionally communicated this about a month before when we planned the surgery) and they completely ignored that and ended up calling me at work. And finally, this is the thing that made me the most upset, after his surgery, they told me TWICE on the phone that he did not get any sutures and he would not need a cone. When I get there to pick him up they inform me he needed a cone and when they called to inform me about test results about ten days later told me he needed to come in to get his sutures removed. I told them I was informed twice he didn’t have any to which the DOCTOR on the phone sounded very annoyed with me like he OBVIOUSLY had sutures that needed to be removed. I got mad and told her she needed to talk to her staff about communicating because I had been told TWICE he did not have them and again she acted as if I was being entitled for this? BUT THEN BECAUSE of this on a freezing day after work I drive all the way out there and they inform me he did not have sutures at all! A total waste of time. Got a new vet immediately after this and will not be returning. Work on your communication because people who come here are trusting you with way more than just an animal but a family member. One star.

I'm currently sitting in the exam room. It's 2:26 pm. My appointment for my cat was at 1;00pm. I got here at about 12:50pm. I still haven't seen the vet. I had to cancel an appointment because I won't make it now. My original appointment was actually at 9 am but I switched to 1pm their request We have two cats and one dog that we used to bring here. As of right now we are done with this location. We will find a new vet.

Went to American animal hospital today for the first time with my 2 cats. Dr. Bohn, Ada and the receptionists were so helpful and caring for my animals. I would recommend this veterinary office to anyone. Taking animals to the vet can sometimes be a struggle, and especially with cats. They made it stress free and an enjoyable experience.

I’ve been a client here for the last 18 years. Dr. Jesske is one of the most fantastic humans I’ve ever met! The entire clinic staff makes me and my dog feel very welcome!!! Absolutely thankful for the care we receive there!!

Took my baby of 13 years because she was very sick. Unfortunately the time had come to visit the rainbow bridge. The staff was all very sweet and accommodating. The vet who we saw last even sat there and cried with us.

Got in right away to see vet about our Beagle having an ear infection. Met the new vet, Dr. Courtney Knott, (as our regular vet was not in that day). Instead of lifting our dog nervously onto the table, Dr. Knott sat down on the floor, gently talking to the dog face to face, immediately putting our dog at ease. Can't say enough good things about American Animal Hospital!

they are the nicest vets I've been to we had to put our animal down and they were so sweet gave as much time as we wanted even though they were closing. Best vets hands down so straight to the point answer any questions reasonable priced. Greatest vet in Omaha. thank you guys so much for helping us through this difficult process.

This place ROCKS. My husband and I were traveling a lot last year unexpectedly, and we ended up spending a month in Omaha. Our puppy was reaching the age of needing to be neutered, and we were so anxious about finding a trustworthy place in Omaha. We were referred to American Animal Hospital - specifically Dr. Kroeger - and we could not have been happier with him and the entire practice. They treated Fergus with the utmost care, and eased any of our concerns and worries. They were thorough, patient, flexible, and truly so gentle with our pup. We have yet to find a vet in any other city that lives up to these guys. 100% recommend for all of your pets needs. They’ll treat your baby like their own, and you’ll leave with complete peace of mind!

I'm fostering two dogs, one of which is fearful and has a hard time at the vet. The vet techs have consistently been rough with her, so much so that she peed from being so scared at her last visit. On the other hand, the techs treat the other dog, who is admittedly more laid back, fine. I won't be taking my personal dogs here, and have requested a different vet for my fosters.

When I came in, I was greeted immediately and I was informed that I could be seen right away. It didn't take probably less than 5 minutes before I was escorted back to the area with Oreo. There was very little wait time between the time coming into the room and the person came in to do an initial diagnosis on Oreo, and then the vet was in momentarily. After that. She was most pleasant, very helpful, and quickly diagnosed and prescribed medicine for him. I thought the charges were quite reasonable and how oftentimes animal "hospitals" charge more, I felt the fees for right in line with normal veterinarian services. I would highly recommend using this facility.

We’ve been using this vet for a little over two years now and while we’ve always known their prices were high, we thought the care justified the increased cost. After today though, that is done. We paid $750 for an ultrasonic dental cleaning that we didn’t even ask for. Our dog was in to remove an absysed tooth. This turned into 6 teeth and the cleaning. Mind you they only told us about the one tooth and we only authorized them to do one tooth. So not only did this vet office decide to perform an unelected procedure and then charge us, they also charged $750 to clean teeth. I can no longer recommend this vet based on their performance of an unelected procedure and an unwanted and EXPENSIVE cleaning. They also failed to communicate this to us until it came time to pick up our dog expecting the quoted $600 bill and get presented $1600. Do not go here if you value communication and decision making with your pet.

Dr. Knott is fantastic. The staff are all courteous, responsive, and very helpful. We feel blessed that we found someone like Dr. Knott to provide veterinary care to our two yorkies. Dr. Knott is wonderful. She is caring, kind, patient and responsive to all of our questions. We trust her 110%. I’d stand on my head in the corner if she asked me too. We trust her THAT much!!!!

Dr. Knott did an amazing job when my dog was diagnosed with a new condition. She explained everything in a very kind, easily-understood manner. Each of the vet techs also did great, thorough work and made us feel comfortable and welcome. I'm very glad we bring our dogs here!

The Animal Hospital is located in my neighborhood. Great care for my dogs. I have a 14 year old & 10 year old. I’ve been coming over 10 yrs.. Hope to come 10 more at least.

We’re not regular patients here, but when I called about a senior dog who had very suddenly become very ill, they got us in right away. The vet and entire staff were patient and kind as we said goodbye to our dog of 15 years. Their compassion deserves recognition.

Everyone was super friendly from the phone call to the visit. American animal hospital made the visit easy and substantially quicker than I expected. Thanks for squeezing us in . Max left more comfortable and I left relieved! We’ll be switching to AAH as our primary vet for max the dog and jade the cat. :)

Dr. Lacks respect, took him a hour to put my dog down after I tried to call him back into the room several of times. He was just in the back talking with the staff and laughing. My kids had to see the dog poo out blood when I literally begged the Dr to come back in. Not a good place to bring a dog especially if it’s a emergency. The Dr also lacks mannerism, we arrived 5 min early and where told to wait outside with a dying dog until they opened. They opened ten after just to be a d$$k about it. Rushed my dog in and they did not seem to care. Totally unacceptable in my opinion.

There is something seriously wrong with this animal clinic. communication and sympathy Is definitely lacking here. Dr lies, steals money, and staff lost my dogs plaque after her passing. It was sentimental because it had her foot prints on it.

My 3yr old Golden Retriever ate part of a toy causing a significant obstruction. Dr. Burr and her team did an amazing job both pre and post surgery. He’s had a long week but they have been with us every step of the way! This team truly cares about me and my pup!

They work with us when we have emergencies and have emotionally supported us during a loss. This is the vet to go in Omaha metro area if you need scanning or your pet has something on the more urgent/serious side. We were able to get an appointment on short notice for our dog who was not peeing at the time and they did blood work and x ray as well as a physical examination. Vet and reception staff were nice. It cost us 200 dollars less than vetco did on a different time. Definitely would recommend.

Dr. Jesske is great, his approach to the animals is so comforting . I feel that the focus is totally on my dog and not me or my checkbook. The entire staff and other doctors I have met have always been very nice and helpful.

Waited an hour and a half to see the vet past my appt time. Vet only was in the room for 5 mins and it took another 20mins of waiting to get the meds. Charged an arm and a leg. Not even any acknowledgement from staff for the absurd waiting time.

The best! Been the family Vet for years. When we got our puppy last year I knew exactly where to take him. We’ve been so happy with the staff and service American Animal has provided our pup. You know it’s a great place when your dog gets excited to walk in the door and see the friendly staff. Puts my dog mom heart at ease knowing he’s in good hands and will be a stress-free visit for all!

The doctors and staff at this clinic have always been so knowledgeable and helpful! I’ve been taking my pets here for years and no matter who sees my pets I’ve always felt like it be gotten comprehensive care for my furry family members. I would (and do) recommend this place to anyone know. Just like with my own health I would never give my pets second best, and this place is the best!

I have entrusted the care of my animals to American Animal Hospital for over 20 years - Kirby, Aurora, and Chloe. They are always attentive and sensitive to my needs as a pet owner. If my dogs has surgery, the vet always calls me afterwards to discuss the outcome and report on how my pet is doing. They are especially good with Chloe who hates the vet and can act out. The staff always finds us a room and works extra hard to win her over and make her less fearful. I think American Animal Hospital is the best place for animal care in Omaha.

I was traveling with my dog and he was having issues with one of his eyes. My sister and brother in law recommended American Animal Hospital and there is not a bad word I could say about this place. The staff was so kind, so helpful, and Dr. Kroeger treated my dog like he’d known him his whole life. You can tell everyone here truly loves helping pets and is knowledgeable and trustworthy. I highly recommend them if you’re looking for a place that cares for your pet like they would their own.
