I wouldn’t came back. We rent the private room for 4 people. The cleaning was DISGUSTING (just see the picture because is too much). Toilets dirty and smelly. In the floor there was 3 toilets and only one was clean. Rooms seemed clean. The water basin in the room was leaking water (every time you open the water) The door lock was broken, anyone could enter our room. That didn’t made us feel comfortable to leave our things alone. The personal was very kind. But in the morning the the mattress was still lying in the bathroom nobody cleaned that. The hostel has a really cool vibe in the night, the problem is that the music is too loud and we had to close the window to sleep. Such a pity because the hostel has potential and could do better. But I would recommend people to sleep somewhere else but to go there for a couple of drinks.

If you're ever in Bruges and are looking for a genuine, fun hostel experience, then look no further and head straight to St. Christopher's Inn. The location is prime as it is walkable from the town centre and the nearest bus stop is just 1 minute walk away. I stayed here in 2020 and then 2023 and can say that they have maintained their hospitality and quality at its best. The check-in to check-out experience leave no chance of you having any complaint. There is absolutely no problem of communication as their staff is fluent in many languages, primarily being English. The bunk beds in the dorms are well kept and clean. The washrooms and shower cabins are also cleaned on regular basis. They have a paid breakfast option as well which I haven't tried till now. There is no common kitchen concept here. The highlight of the hostel is the evening and night parties. If you like to let your hair down and mingle with people from all over the world, then St Christopher's gives you the perfect platform to do that. They have night parties almost every day where you'll have amazing beer, food and music.

Friendly staff, knowledgeable of the area. Clean Room and linen, Decent showers. Great selection of beers at the bar, which has a good atmosphere. Included breakfast was half decent also! A pleasant experience all round, would recommend.

Nice simple hostel well located near the town centre but not right in the middle of it. I loved the connected bar where I met both fellow travellers and locals - this was such a cool aspect and a fun and easy way to meet people. I went on the promoted legends & mysteries evening tour of Bruges which was well led and free, although it was expected tip at the end which I was fine with as the tour guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. The room and adjacent bathrooms were clean and tidy and the staff at the front desk were helpful and friendly. I went solo and felt very safe, so I’d definitely recommend!

Very nice Hostel! The rooms were clean and nice. Beds in dorms had curtains and the mattress was super comfy. It is rather on the outside of Brugge so it’s a 25 min walk from the trainstation. But only 10 minutes to the centrum which is alright. Definitely recommend this one!

Great - if you have no interest in sleeping. I had earplugs pushed right down inside both ear canals.. no joy. On my last night, the bar festival/concert/rave went right on until at least 5.45am (when I last checked my phone). As I say, decent when you are enjoying your Belgian beer and looking to party. Beyond that, it is a bad idea to try and sleep here.

Really good value for money. Location is perfect: not in the busiest part (though there is a bar downstairs) so still quiet enough, but not too far from the 'center' center. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The apartment was spacious, nice, and warm. Towels and bathroom floor rags had to be requested personally/physically a few hours after check-in though, and the shower drain was clogged

4 of us stayed for two nights and it was perfect- location is slightly out of city centre but only by a 5-10min walk, which was good as it wasn’t too loud at night. we stayed in a 16-person room and everybody kept to themselves, the check in and check out staff were lovely, and the bar downstairs had an amazing atmosphere with really nice staff!

Private double room was ok, walls are quite thin so it can be a bit noisy. The bar area was fantastic and we had great service from all staff. Overall good value and experience.

Had a wonderful time catching up with friends in Bruges at the Christmas markets. The Bauhaus is a great location to quickly visit the markets, restaurants and shops. We were made very welcome at The Bauhaus provides excellent accommodation, pub grub and if you are there on a Saturday night the music is brilliant. We loved the 80’s music. A great vibe 💜

Highly recommend! Exceptionally great service. Kind staff. Affordable prices, free printing service for guests. The room was clean, twin beds very comfortable. It was also very quite on the second floor even tough there was kind of a party in the bar downstairs. A free cup of nice coffee in the morning made my day.

This hostel was probably our favorite of the 6 we stayed in during our honeymoon--the staff were all very welcoming and helpful, the bar space/common room was GORGEOUS and fit the vibes of Brugge perfectly. It was only about a 10-15 minute walk to the city center, but it was tucked far enough away from the main touristy area that we weren't disturbed by foot traffic. The bar downstairs was amazing--lots of great Belgian beers and spirits, and really reasonably priced, too! They showed the Six Nations rugby game one afternoon, which was a really great raucous experience, and the continental breakfast was great for the price. We definitely plan to stay here next time we come back to Brugge! (P.S.--if you stay here, try to eat at the Lion Brugge, which is a few doors down, during your stay--my husband, who's a chef, nearly cried over his veal tongue and my beef stew was to die for!! Just make sure to get there early or make a reservation if you can.)

It was very cheap last-minute accommodation that did not disappoint. Although simple it did the job perfectly and the room was clean, comfortable, quiet, had everything we needed for a quick 1 night stop over. The parking by the ring road was easy, free, and a short walk from the inn. Coming back to our car we noticed another had been broken into through the back window, so don’t leave valuables there if parking. The bar downstairs had a cool atmosphere if we were staying longer w we definitely would have used it. Cheers! :)

it was a very nice place, the apartment was located in the main street, near the turistic points... staff was very friendly and the ambance very cosy.

The rooms are super comfortable, location is not bad (1 km from the downtown), but this is the first hostel I have been in my life that doesn't offer a kitchen to the guest, and don't forget you have to pay the "CITY TAX" extra, that it is not mentioned anywhere.

The best hostel I've been to so far! I stayed in a 16 bed dorm and everyone was super respectful and kept quiet after 11pm. Toilets and showers were always clean and cleaned everyday. The bar was great even on a Wednesday night. Staff were lovely. Wouldn't recommend the breakfast but everything else was great

The room had a bad smell and wasn't that clean, but bearable for the price. Bathrooms were fine. For me the biggest negative point were the employees, who almost all were very unfriendly. With the exception of a few I met who volunteered, the front desk staff was always snooty and didn't treat you like a customer. Didn't seem like they wanted to help. I didn't think it was cool. Besides that the transport there was quite bad. And it's not downtown. The staff just gave me wrong information about the bus that goes to the station. On the way back I had to take a taxi so as not to miss my train, which was not so economical. I chose this place because it was a last minute trip, but maybe if I was better received I would have a better perception of it. Today I don't recommend it.

Valerie prepared nice coffees for us and the stay was relaxing. I was tired from my bike trip, and the efficient check-in was very much welcomed. They serve a pizza until late in case you want to eat in or if other places are already closed. They also have a bike shed and lockers.

Positive: There are curtains on the beds, lockers for your baggage. Negative: The reception is in a bar next to the accommodation, so at night the noise goes straight to the accommodation. I had a problem during the night, I went to the bathroom barefoot in shorts and a tank top, and when I returned to the room my key card didn't work to open the door, I had to go out into the street barefoot, it was very cold, entering the bar full of people to ask to set it up again my key card, a situation uncomfortable and embarrassing.

A reasonably priced hostel. It's what you'd expect from a hostel. Despite there being a mix up with the initial booking we ended up being upgraded at no extra cost. Staff very helpful and polite and was made to feel welcome.

We booked a private room without bathroom, it was on the last floor but the room smelled weird, it was in bad shape in general the borders were not painted well and the beds could be a bit better. Outside was the shower and the WC and it was dirty. I understand it's a hostel but I have been in much better hostal by far :'(

The bathroom smells like cigarettes and is full of mold. The roof has humidity stains and looks like it's going to fall down any minute. You can hear every single footstep from either the room upstairs or the staircase outside of the room. The key to the room stopped working and had to be issued another one every other time. The lockers ransom you for more money even though you already paid for the whole day. So many budget stays have proven to be friendly, clean, and welcoming. The website for the Bauhaus makes it seem like it's one of those, but it is definitely not.

Very good customer service, the receptionist gave us free beers and chips :) There was an error in the charge and they immediately solved the problem. The breakfast was good too. The bar is super fun. They have a variety of beers. Excellent service !!!

It was okay. Close enough walk to the city centre (but far from the train station) the staff were friendly ish, the rooms were very dated compared to the photos. They advertise free breakfast if you book through the website but that is an old promotion (despite still being advertised in the welcome booklet). It was a bit loud you could hear noise from the hall and the floor above. The beds were comfortable and the privacy curtain in the female dorm was nice.

❌❌ BEWARE!!!❌❌ STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOSTEL!!!THEY ARE THE WORST HOSTEL ON EARTH!!! THEY ARE TH*EVES!! If I can give them zero star, I would. They kicked me out on the street on 11/3/2023 and threatened to call the cops on me because when I checked in and found out that my room is mixed 4 bed dorm, I kindly asked if it can be switched to a female. The girl who was helping me was nice but needed to check with her manager “which I didn’t get his name”, but he was the worst human on earth. He was just not willing to do anything about it and instead telling me that I would have to pay again if I wanted a female bed. After been traveling all day and exhausted, I gave up and went to the room but the hallway smells like piss all the way. I came down to try again as I realized there were all guys in the room. I checked the availability, and there was still availability in the 10 female bed dorm. I came down asking the same guy if he would be able to do it as a genuine gesture but he still refused. To top it off, he made me wait for more than 10-15 mins while he’s pretending to be asking his manager just to come back with the same response that he won’t do it. Out of frustration, I called him out on it and he went back and said he’s going to call the cops on me and called me crazy. He even blocked me from going to my checked in room. They kicked me out on the street with no place to go in the cold after I had already paid for 2 nights. I asked the bartender for his name but he also refused to give it. It doesn’t matter the name. It’s the service you are providing that is absolute trash. I hope others see this comment because they need to know what they’re getting themselves into. What a disgrace! They left me stranded on the street until some strangers jumped to help. I was absolutely distraught from what happened. I hope Karma gets you back. You’re surely not suitable for a customer service job because you lack kindness and respect.

Our experience was mostly blissful. The dormitories specifically for women have curtains for privacy but the mixed dorms do not. We stayed a day in women's dorm and a day in. The Wifi is great, the bathrooms are clean. It's not at all noisy and is located in a peaceful area with everything nearby. Would recommend the women's dorms!

Unfortunately not that clean... it should be neater that that : hair and dust all over the sheets, it's like it was only folded but not replaced with clean sheets. I had mixed interactions with the staff as they are many, overall very nice but some had mistaken my reservation status (payment due, breakfast, free drink because I booked through the website directly) although I had paid everything beforehand. Maybe it was a busy night/ weekend but I think an improvement in that area is necessary especially when the customer arrives late and tired from the trip. The breakfast was okay-ish, pretty basic. They have a bike rental service but minimal 4hours rent is required. Other than that, nice vibes and calm streets outside. A bit far from the center but it's alright if you like to walk.

I enjoyed my stay a lot! Very friendly and helpful people at the bar/front desk. They helped me with everything I asked. Clean rooms. Okay showers. I wish they would have some hooks or shelves where I can put my clothings and things next to the shower. Location is great. 25 min walk from train/bus station or you can take a city bus to the hostel.

Extremely well located, right on the center, near to a lot of nice restaurants. Bedroom was simple, but spacious, enough space for 4 friends/family members, with an exclusive bathroom. In our case, it was much better than a hostel room (with shared everything). If you plan to take a nap during the day, you might be disturbed with the nearby church bells playing every 15 minutes, at night time It's fine.

Price/Performance almost equals to 1. we liked cheese croissant very much in the breakfast. Beds are very comfortable. I can’t complain.

  • 4/5 Katarzyna S. 2 years ago on Google
The room was clean with basic furniture. The bathroom can be a chalenge since it's very small, capsule size shower, a tiny basin and a toilet. The hostel provides towels, shower gel and a toilet paper. No air condition. The location is very good, although there might be a problem with parking. Very nice bar serving local beers with long opening hours. Very nice staff at the reception. I recommend the place if you travel on a budget.

  • 3/5 Daniele C. 2 years ago on Google
The location was quite central, with decently near low cost parking facilities. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was average for a hostel. Comfy beds. The 4-bedroom was way to small with no amenities, same for the toilets on the floors, the showers were spacious but way to basic.

  • 5/5 Wolfgang J. 2 years ago on Google
A hostel as it should be. The full-fledged decent Belgian beer bar serves as a common room, so it was perfectly ok to have my take-away food in there. Staff was unbelievably friendly and the bar well-stocked. Probably not my last time there.

  • 5/5 Emmanuel A. 2 years ago on Google
nice and calm place that gives you a hommy feeling. if you ever visit Bruges the place to stay is the Bauhaus, cheap, very comfortable, with the best of staff. Don't forget to have a taste of the beer too.

Really fun hostel in a great location with an awesome bar. Security was good but bathrooms were quite dirty and not enough for the amount of people. Some staff were quite rude and slow at times, often standing around ignoring guests.

  • 4/5 Wouter 1 year ago on Google
Probably 1 of the best hostels there are. Nice bar underneath the hostel where you can meet fellow travelers. Only downside was the rooms being very very warm (at least the first day, second day was waaaay better). Also the heater was on in the bathroom with temperatures of 26 degrees outside lol

Great place to stay with amazing service. The breakfast included is great and would reccomend booking direct for this. We got upgraded in our room so were super happy. Its a bit of a walk to city centre but not too bad 10minutes at a decent pace.

  • 2/5 Sofia Lourdes Q. 2 years ago on Google
If you wish to have some good sleep go somewhere else. The hostel makes party in the reception area next to the building where the rooms are. Without earphones or similar you can’t sleep. Staff mostly friendly, but the day we arrived we weren’t very welcome, the person in the reception didn’t even bother to show us where the rooms were (since there were apparently more than one building…). Everything else was okay.

Bit if a walk but it's my daughters fav bar as they always have great music. Bit of a pity as quite quiet thus time which is unusual but think covid has made the city a bit quieter than normal despite the may festival. Always recommend here for a nice beer and really pleasant staff.

My first hostel experience and I have no complaints. Clean rooms, great location, excellent facilities, and good people. The common areas were cozy and welcoming. Would absolutely recommend.

  • 5/5 Muhammet E. 2 years ago on Google
It was fine in terms of location. 10 minutes walking distance from the city center. rooms were clean. There were lockable cupboards and sockets at the head of the bed. The only minus was that the toilet was not in the room.

  • 3/5 Nina H. 1 year ago on Google
Bruges is beautiful. The bar and downstairs area is nice! Be aware that they have no elevator, so I had to lug up my heavy luggage to the 4th floor and down. I had the shared private room and you’re in an apartment with two other private rooms, with one shared shower and bathroom. No air conditioner, the room was soo hot 🥵 I personally would stay elsewhere next time.

Nice hostel, the bar/reception wad very nice to sit in. Simple but good breakfast, that was very worth the price. The staff was nice and helpful. The pod beds was nice to get some privatcy.

  • 4/5 Chris N. 1 year ago on Google
Comfortable pods and decent set up. The toilets in the pod area feel a bit flimsy - kind of like they’re supposed be temporary but have been kept on - and the ladders on the pod bunks tend to be against a wall, making it hard to get a grip when climbing into the bunk. Overall, well priced in a good location, but could do with some sprucing up in areas.

This is the best hostel I have ever been to. This is such a fun party hostel, and so cheap too. I met so many great people, and is definitely the highlight of my trip. If I ever come back, I will definitely come back here.

We had the room under th rooftop. Very functional, but inside a historic house, not bad! Good breakfast for 5 Euro. Very good Pizza in the pub. Noise outside because of the hostal pub till 2 am. After it's closed party continues till morning so we decided not to stay longer. We should have read the sign telling us to "party hard and sleep easy". We are getting old...

  • 5/5 Smiae 1 year ago on Google
This hostel was great! The staff were so friendly and it tends to attract open-minded, friendly travelers so I met some people to spend New Year's Eve with. There's a free breakfast if you book through their site but the website restricts you to at least two nights. Book through AirBnb if you just want one night. The breakfast is then €5.

Reserved full rooms are nice; we had one on the top floor with a skylight. The beds are decent and clean. Good location. However, the room is also very barebones. Just 2 power outlets; one of which is needed for the room heater in winter; no hooks are bars to hang clothes in the bathroom nor in the toilet.

  • 1/5 A. V. 6 months ago on Google • 1 review
Because of the hard rain outside our room was clearly moist on the walls, it was dripping water inside what made the bed wet! The covers were dirty with make-up and the drainage had a terrible smell. When opening the shower door the smell filled the whole room, disgusting. The shower broke, simply by lifting the hose out of the holder, flooding the whole bathroom and a part of the room. The rooms are right above the cafe so expect shouting people through the whole night. We booked 2 nights, were sleep deprived both nights. Worst experience of my life. For 300€ for a private room this was very very bad. Only good thing was the distance to the center.

I loved the theme of the hostel from the reception; the staff was friendly at all times. The bar at night is amazing, and the buffet breakfast seemed sufficient to me. The location is very close to the center, so you only have to walk about 10 minutes. The rooms were clean, and there is enough space to store your suitcase in the room's locker. The showers are comfortable. This is the second time I've stayed with this chain, and I definitely recommend it.

A truly wonderful time spent at St. Christopher’s Bauhaus with friends and family. Such kind and helpful staff, a really fun bar and the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept on in a hostel. Would 100% recommend. In a beautiful city for walking and discovering hidden gems.
