I had a terrible experience in this store today. I went there specially to buy an extendible/retractable lead because my dog’s one broke. When I got there, I noticed they had it locked away with key so I approached a Staff ( lady) and asked her how I could get one. She replied a bit annoyed and I did not understand what she said to me so I asked again: “Should I ask at the till?” That made her really crossed and she shouted: “I already told you I will go get the key!!!” That made me quite upset but I waited anyways…. She came back with the keys completely unhappy and loudly saying that people steal the leads and that is why they keep it locked away. She was very distressed and stumping her feet. She asked me which one I wanted and I told her I wanted the 8 metres one and that is when she started to ask me how I trained my dog, if I kept my dog by my side while I walked it, if my dog pulled the leash too much and I don’t even know why I answered all her questions and every single one I answered, she shouted back at me telling me I was doing it all wrong and how the dog was leading me and not the other way around. She continued telling me that I must look for someone to train my dog because I wasn’t doing it properly. Don’t get me wrong, we were not having a conversation, it was actually quite disturbing, mainly because I did not visit the store for any advice! All I wanted was to buy a leash and leave!. At the end she said: “ I don’t want to be harsh but I am telling you the truth!” I told her to forget about the leash and I just left. Why do you employ people who make us not want to spend money in your shop? After what happened, all I wanted was to leave immediately and never come back! I had my 6 years old with me and on the way out he asked me: “ Mum, why was the lady so rude? She was shouting at you!” I will be more than happy to speak to a member of the customer services about this matter. I have been a customer for a long time and this is very upsetting!

Awful customer service. Initially made a query to ask why bumper value pack was more expensive than smaller packs of cat food and assistant passed me to a manager. Manager said "I can't do anything about the price." Insufficient stock to buy multiple smaller packs. When paying the assistant said she was tired and couldn't be dealing with today. I asked what she meant and she said customers!! When she asked if I had a VIP card I said I did, but wouldn't be using it as I wouldn't shop in the store again and she said "Good, we don't need customers like you anyway." I said that "without customers she wouldn't have a job," so she replied "Good, I want a new job anyway!" Based on that experience I won't use the store again and will shop online with another business. Good luck to any business who employs that person!

We recently bought a fish tank from this branch for my 3 year old daughter. We were served by a young gentleman who gave us some great advice and information we didn't know or ask for, extremely helpful and good value. I'm unsure of his name but he had a nose piercing and seemed to be very knowledgeable and also have a great attitude.

A good store with handy items for all pets from cats, dogs, rabbits, fish, etc. Worth a visit, the kids love the animals too.

Women on the till was well rude to me for no reason. When I tried to defend myself, she shouted, 'goodbye' at me. So I left and called the store. The lady that answered the phone was so lovely. If only the nasty lady on the till followed the customer service training she would have been given, it would have been an excellent visit.

What the hell?!! Shockingly bad experience with Meghan (staff) at the Nugent Retail Park branch in Orpington!! Left my daughter in tears.

Want to thank the lovely knowledge guy who give me tips on ways to get my fussy dog to eat...after the 4th attempt of putting her food bowl up she finally eat her dinner thank you

Disgraceful assistance 60 Yr old woman went into purchase dog lead saw one lonely hamster in tiny tank so decided to purchase having had many hamster over years and even owns many pets now including horses has set up at home was refused purchase as the awful salesman was trying to make he pay additional £50 for a death trap cage where poor thing could of broken leg (she has tank cage) was told too small when same size as base of this sky scraper high metal cage utterly appalling trying to get more money when already has adequate home.. refuses to ever step foot in there again lost a 30 quid sale of dog lead and collar plus the hamster and accessories hope poor thing left alone in its tiny tank is allowed home with someone animal welfare issue my arse 😢 😤

Pretty good range of products, really lovely staff, well laid out and chill atmosphere to just browse stuff for pets or have a look at some of the animals in the shop (attached a photo of my hamster who loves the canary seed bells from here)

Amazing customer services. Shop was packed but that didn't stop one of the shops representatives helping answer my questions about the new Rabbit I had just been given and she was very knowledgeable about food care and housing needs for my new Rabbit then when it came to taking my new very large Rabbit hutch house / enclosure the shop staff carried it to my car for me. 5 ***** For Service Only problem was now il expect other shops to have staff as helpfull as petsathome

I’ve always shopped here for dog food and cat food and its perfect. However, I do have an issue with the life food offered there. The last three times I have visited to buy waxworms for my mantis, they have all been dead in the pots. Today I entered the store to find that almost every box of live food beside the morio worms were full of dead larvae and crickets. I’m concerned about the fact that an inexperienced owner could purchase these and feed them to their pet which could cause illness, especially in invertebrate pets! These need to be taken off the shelves immediately. Other than that, it’s a good shop with extremely helpful staff.

I've not been to this shop before. But for all your pet needs, it's worth going to. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I should point out that it is a bit expensive depending on what you are getting. You may also be interested to know, they also have a vet as well.

Good one stop shop for your pets. I tried my dog's on pets at home's own dog meat and they love it. I have to admit that I only tried it as my usual brand had run out, but have now converted. Staff are always polite and happy to help. This store is open until 7pm which is also a massive bonus

Not a lover of retail parks but the store has a large variety of items for pets. I purchased the items I wanted. Car parking at weekends can be a nightmare as it was on my visit. Glad I went by bus.

Wide variety if choice in this store. Pleasant environment. Will shop here again but did not have in stock the cat litter we buy.

Always very helpful staff and a reasonably well stocked store. We find it best to order items online a day using click and collect before heading down there the next day to get our items.

Love this shop. Plenty of goodies for pets. Plenty of pets and good food supplies for said pets.

Still good value when I looked around. Did click and collect on cat bits and pieces as was unable to buy my usual cat litter in store. Noce just to walk in, pick up and walk out with friendly staff.
