😠 Service charge added to the bill. Thought the bill was higher than expected. Service was not great. I will decide when to tip thank you. Edited After Owners reply which has now gone.... If the charge is optional then it should be pointed out when the bill is presented. I am 70 years old and eat out... People often mention good, staff, friendly, great,

If the charge is optional then it should be pointed out when the bill is presented. I am 70 years old and eat out all the time and have for years. Most establishments do not add this charge.

Quality and value This is a good pub restaurant for the family. There's a nice garden with climbing apparatus for the kids. The food was good value and tastes good. No complaints!

Great pub, with beer garden and good bar snacks, at good prices. Try the sausage stick and the pie and sausage role. Good stuff with a cold pint.

We had booked the pub for a wake after a service at the nearby church. The staff were excellent and very attentive to our guests. Food provided was good and we were made to feel most welcome. _______________________________ Back again at The Change of Horses after All Souls Service at St. Giles' Church. Again, great service, efficient friendly staff. Food from the menu is great, right amount of choices. We ordered 2 sharing platters at £11.49 each. We would have posted photos of our order but unfortunately we immediately tucked in and ate the lot before realising it. Recommended for a visit for a drink or food. The decor is homely, the background music, stays as background by not being overly loud. Recommended.

Pub looks tired and in need of TLC. Food menu very limited. Number of items on the menu were unavailable. Staff were very nice and attentive. Food when served was reasonably good 👍 Pub needs updating

Just popped in here for the first time having been recommended by a couple of friends. Had a swift half as we happened to be passing through Farnborough Village. Staff were pleasant and accommodating. Got talking to a couple of locals who were more regulars, very pleasant atmosphere, will definitely be re-visiting.

Comfortable, basic pub with a reasonable food menu. Friendly staff. Ale selection was acceptable. Pretty traditional pub with few frills. In a positive way.

We were a coach full of football supporters ( well behaved ones)that stopped at this pub (pre arranged). Not our usual routine but we all said we must stop here again. They were welcoming, food was lush, a good variety and competitively priced. Good range of beers and spirits. Highly recommend.

This pub is not dog friendly. I live in the next local village Keston and walk my two small dogs in Farnborough Fields. I went in this pub this afternoon and went to the bathroom with my dog to wash my hands and wash my dogs face with water from the sink. The barmaid complained and said it wasn’t healthy to take a dog in a toilet; I thought we were a dog friendly country? I then took the cleaning fluid from the barmaid myself and cleaned the toilet down. When walking back to the bar with the cleaning fluid a man started shouting at me and swore numerous times using the F C and various other horrid swear words in front of his grand son. I was completely shocked and shaken by this abusive and verbally violent and bullying behaviour. I left immediately and went to the Woodman. Totally different experience and completely doggie friendly and Shelly gave my dogs treats. The man in the Change of Horses was a bully and should be ashamed of his behaviour I will never set foot in their again and would advise all dog owners to avoid the pub.

Enjoyable birthday celebration. The staff were friendly and helpful the buffet had a good selection & was of a good standard. 2nd party we've had here and loved it both times.

Absolutely lush pub who could not do enough for us. We've been here a few times now and the food is always delicious! The staff were absolutely brilliant and the range of drinks was great. They have a bookable room in the back or a large pub area.

This was the first pub, as an individual, I went to in 1981. I believe it's been through a few managers since then. It's a lovely pub inside, full of character and has a decent garden, for those wishing to be outside. It also has a function room you can hire. I have been back several times on the last year. The staff are generally very polite but they could do with a uniform or code of dress, as some of the women dress as though they are working at Kings Cross, if you get what I mean? The food can be hit and miss also. I've had a fabulous meal there and a not so good meal. Maybe there were different chefs on. It is worth a visit, though, and definitely worth supporting.

Had a great experience when we booked the function room for our club reunion. Could not fault the friendly and efficient staff, the delicious buffet or cleanliness of the whole pub. From the moment we arrived to see the beautiful floral decorations outside, were quickly welcomed and served at the bar to tasting the varied and well presented food, the experience couldn't be faulted. Thank you to everyone involved, we'll be back.

Totally disgusted. Turned up at 8pm on a Friday & the kitchen had just shut. People in the bar were having diner served as we arrived but they refused to take an order because the kitchen was shut…..! Disappointed is not the word.
