Great restraunt with casual yet elevated vibes. I went here with my partner and my mom for her birthday. Online it seemed like there was something for different dietary restrictions and the place seemed classy. On arrival it met expectations, the staff was kind and willing to assist. The venue itself was gorgeous with 2 overhead fish tanks! The food was really good. I had the salmon and it was delicious and fairly priced. My mom and partner had the steak which was cooked slightly above their requests but otherwise was quite good. The dessert was delicious 10/10 would recommend the carrot cheese cake again. Above all, everyone seemed to be having a good time. There were birthdays celebrated, dates, friends meeting up, and families. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a fancy fun time in Oshawa

We visited Shrimp Cocktail for the first time, on the day of our anniversary, June 25. We went for dinner and everyone working was very pleasant. The lady with the accent (Irish) I could be very wrong, she was our server and she was amazing. Very helpful and courteous, I do still wish that there was chocolate for the rim of my glass for my chocolate martini, which was delicious none the less. Our dinner I had salmon and with wheat berry and some damn good veggies and my husband had the ribeye cooked to the perfect medium along side potatoes, mushrooms and spinach also very very good. For dessert we had this carrot cake mix with cheese cake, drizzled with caramel, definitely a fight at the table for the last bite. The young lady who came to check on us she was so nice and offered us a complimentary drink to celebrate our anniversary, that was real nice. Our night was amazing and we will definitely be back with a new his and her shirt on😉

This place deserves nothing but 5 stars. This was our first time at Shrimp Cocktail but will certainly not be our last. We had a fantastic and pleasant host - George who helped us throughout the night. The food was stellar, including the clam chowder appetizer, and risotto main. Beyond the food, the personal touch of the head chef Andrew coming by to check in on us and have a genuine conversation for a few minutes made the experience that much better. Will certainly be coming back here!

Usually wouldn’t leave a review for food like this because it would be downtown Toronto at a 4.5-5 star restaurant and what I have to say wouldn’t matter but this place deserves as many shout outs as possible. If you’re from Durham region and you want celebrate something and spend money on some good food and drink. GO HERE! The ribeye was probably the best I’ve had (easy top 3) and I have had some steaks… From your regular old fillet to 160 per ounce A5 waygu. I like my steak… Rockefeller 9/10 scallops 9/10 seafood linguine 9/10 16 ounce ribeye 10/10 caramel crème brûlée 9/10. Potato and mushroom hash is the perfect side for any steak on the menu. Hats off to Chef, thank you for not making me go all the way downtown to get quality food or the same damn thing at the keg every time. This was our second time here and it reassured us we need to come back more often.

We attended Shrimp Cocktail on December 10, 2022 for our daughter and her fiancée’s post wedding celebration. This was our first visit to Shrimp Cocktail and we couldn’t have been more impressed. We ordered a hot and cold seafood platter which were both perfect. Andrew the Chef came over to our table numerous times to ensure he understood what we wanted and to ensure that the food was of high quality. It was! Best seafood platters we have ever had with lots of variety and different flavours. Lobster, shrimp, crab, oysters, mussels, salmon. Our waitress Hilary was also awesome as was the owner Wanda. A wonderful experience and a must visit restaurant. Thank you for making Jen and Steve’s special day even better. We will be back. Bill and Sharon Silk

Fantastic food with great service. This is our second visit, and we used our wedding gift voucher. The manager was very professional, but the staff seemed a bit unfamiliar with the menu. Nevertheless, we had a wonderful evening overall.

We had such an amazing experience tonight!! The 5 of us had Chantal as our waitress and she was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. She was always present without being over bearing and made our dining experience so much more enjoyable. The food was top notch!! Oysters were tasty, octopus was fantastic, crab Rangoon, Brie, drinks, scallops, lamb, ALL to die for. The only sad part about our experience is that we didn’t have enough room for the entire menu!! 100% recommend going to this restaurant for top tier seafood and service. We will be back!

Compliments to the chef: Kiwi lamb shank was melt in the mouth. Tiger shrimp was crispy outside and tender&juicy inside, which was matching nicely with the refreshing pineapple sauce. Scallops are well done wrapped in crispy bacon, and the presentation was great. Also we had excellent service, which is rare these days. She went extra mile to make sure we are happy with the food and drinks. Definitely going back next time we are in Oshawa.

I took my girlfriend here for her 40th birthday and the food and service were both excellent! We had oysters which were fresh and delicious, and my mussels were buttery, huge and so tasty! 10/10 will be back!

I have gone there once, and the food was really good. It is a little bit more on the pricier side but the service in the atmosphere makes up for it. The waiter was really good and all of the staff that attended us was very helpful and nice.

Excellent dining experience. Strip loin steak was Very good! Salmon was also very nice! Presentation was colorful and appealing.The staff was Very attentive and friendly. Our meal was an occasion , 52 anniversary, and was very much enjoyed.

Another wonderful evening at shrimp cocktail. It's so nice when the server remembers you. It's such a lovely atmosphere and the team are wonderful. As we had dinner we reminisced over the menu changes and all the wonderful meals there! Tonight shrimp tacos, crab dip, lake pickerel, seafood linguini and the most wonderful crem Brule. Our favorite place, oshawa's little gem! Thank you as always!

We made a reservation for a celebration just a few days before the occasion. It was the first time we were going to visit this place and booked it based on reviews. And we did not regret it. Our waitress was amazing and knowledgeable, and the owner, as well as the chef, were super friendly. We had the best time in Shrimp Cocktail and everyone made sure to make our day even more special. The food was absolutely amazing! We ordered almost every position from the dinner menu and every new dish was better than the previous one. This is the best restaurant in Oshawa with delicious food, hospitable staff, and great prices. I can't wait to visit again!

We popped in for some late evening snacks and cocktails and were pleasantly surprised. We enjoyed the patio atmosphere and our server was great! We certainly satisfied a couple of cravings we’ve been having and have now officially made Shrimp Cocktail our go to spot for fresh oysters on the half shell. We enjoyed it so much that we’ll be booking my dad’s 75th B-Day dinner there in a couple of weeks so we can try a few more menu items.

As usual the food was delicious as well as the service tonight on New Year’s Eve 2023!! The prices have gone up like every where else in the restaurant industry. My Ribeye Steak was $65 which I feel is becoming out of my range of affordability. Please don’t misunderstand me…I love Shrimp Cocktail and often recommend it but my pocketbook can’t.

If you like a great steak... fresh shuked oysters ... adorable staff! The chef paid a visit which is awesome. Great wine that isn't marked up ridiculously. Some restaurants are putting a time limit on seating lately? Not here! No rushing but attentive service. Just wonderful.

5 stars is not enough! Food is amazing here! We got the cesar salad and oyster Rockefeller to start and lamb shanks for the main and everything was delicious! We were too full to finish our main but guaranteed they won't last long on the ride home! Wanda(the owner) and her team are amazing and she personally came to check in on us which is much appreciated and shows that she really cares for her customers. We will definitely come back just to try everything on the menu!

We love dining here. Food quality and service has always been great. Steaks are consistently excellent as are other dishes. Chef Andrew, Chantal, and the rest of the staff make us feel like family each time we are here.

First time visiting Shrimp Cocktail and I got to say, the experience was fantastic! The service was very friendly, the food was some of the best I've ever had and the vibe was very romantic! If you'd like to splurge a little on dinner or have a special occasion, I highly recommend visiting!

Simply a wonderful culinary experience. Everything from the flavors, textures, beautiful plating and the conversations with the chefs was perfect. The chefs sincerely care about the experience that they are providing and they check in personally to ensure everything is as amazing as it should be, which it was! I had the 5oz wild caught black Cod (4.8/5) which was so tender and flavorful, the accompanying vegetables were plentiful (not just a tiny taste like some nice restaurants) and cooked perfectly crisp which was great with the succulent fish. The miso broth was an explosion of flavor that was unforgettable and added a amazing pop to the plate. The shape and cuts on the mushrooms were a super fun touch, making them look like small fish; the attention to detail is no joke. I can't comment on the other plates pictured as I did not try them. Not pictured were oysters from 2 areas of canada which were amazing as well as jumbo prawns which were the best I've ever had, basically a mini lobster!

We went to celebrate my husbands’s birthday. The food was fantastic but most of all the entire staff was so friendly and engaged with my son so much. Definitely will visit again.

My best friend found this amazing restaurant in the 3weeks we had to plan our wedding. From the moment we walked in the door, both Chef Andrew and Wanda were amazing. We had tried another restaurant and were disappointed, which we shared during a dinner to check it out. Wanda spent time chatting with us, and told us “once you try the food, you’ll be booking your wedding dinner”. Boy was she right! Aside from feeling like home the food and care that goes into the food is spectacular. We booked for our wedding dinner a few short weeks later. Wow, what a night. Chef Andrew and crew made the most spectacular food for us. My parents (70+ years old) said it was “one of the best wedding meals” they’d ever had. Aside from the food, the experience was like none other. ALL staff repeatedly (but respectfully) checked on us and seemed to genuinely care our wedding dinner was perfect…and that it was. We had two huge seafood platers (one cold one hot), both absolutely amazing! And the modifications for gluten free were also absolutely amazing. We truly can not thank Wanda, Chef Andrew and crew enough. I had not a worry we were in the best hands. Thanks for making our special day—that much more special. Jen & Steve Amaral
