Beyond words. One of the best meals I’ve had in Ottawa and in my entire life. The place is nicely designed and renovated on the inside. The ambiance is nice and elegant without an air of pretentiousness. Best of all, the staff was friendly and engaging and the sommelier was abs amazing person that went above and beyond to my this experience memorable and was clear they had a ton of knowledge and recommended amazing options. We opted for the 9 course meal. Each dish was beautifully presented but also had the flavour to match. What seemed simple, was complex in flavour and mostly dishes had a Canadian element to them. Once again, one of the best meals and definitely an experience not to be missed.

We had such an amazing time at Perch! The service was exceptional and the cocktails and food absolutely amazing. We did the nine-course experience and could not even choose a favourite as they were all so unique and delicious. We really appreciated the personal touches and care Perch clearly brings to the dining experience, easily accommodating a vegetarian request and knocking it out of the park. Strongly recommend making a reservation at Perch and transport those tastebuds to heaven!

I've been to many fine dinings restaurants and Perch, by far, is the best I've had. The complexity of each dish and spot on wine pairings blew every expectation out of the water. Chef Justin excels at tricking your taste buds into assuming one thing and feeling another. Every grain in the bread Amanda makes, shows the care and love put into each loaf. Sapphires choices in pairings give great attention to the subtleties oh each plate. Overall, 10/10 to the staff and the execution. I can't wait for the spring menu!

Best experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. 9 course blind tasting menu . Every single course was phenomenal. Flavours so well balanced, innovative, presentation was on another level. Overall execution was top notch. It was a pleasure to watch these incredible chefs execute all these dishes in a very open kitchen concept, the whole restaurant is a very intimate little space. Beautifully done. Cocktails were just as good, bartender was fantastic and very knowledgeable, knows how to read the guests. Master of his craft as well. My favourite by far was the “lost in migration” . Can’t wait to return one day !!

This was one of the most extraordinary dining experiences we’ve had bar none. What Chef Justin Champagne-Lagarde & the Perch team create is beyond culinary genius. Don’t miss the opportunity to try this superlative restaurant that Ottawa desperately needed. (Photos are a small sample)

I believe this was the best meal I have ever had in Ottawa. The five course tasting menu was imaginative, delicious and pleasing to the eye. I can understand why Perch was rated number 4 in Canada by En Route Magazine. I particularly loved the aged quail breast and the raviolo. We will return!

A hidden gem at the moment! My wife and I follow lists of Canada’s top restaurants and try a few every year. Perch wasn’t mentioned in any of them, but I saw it on my way to work and upon looking it up, saw that it had glowing reviews. We decided to try it and I can honestly say that it is one of the best restaurant experiences we’ve ever had. The food (we had the 9-course tasting menu) was excellent – beautifully plated, varied and delicious. The limited seating by the open kitchen made it feel like a truly unique experience. You can watch as the chefs craft all the meals in near silence using a surprisingly modest kitchen. It’s not cheap in real terms, but comparatively to similar dining experiences, it is excellent bang for the buck. The wine pairing menu felt like slightly less of a bargain, but the variance between each drink (includes cocktails for some pairings) made for a fun add-on. I would put the overall experience on par, or even better, than the top restaurants we’ve tried in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. Get in while you can! This place will take-off once the secret it out. It is absolutely one of Ottawa's best restaurants.

Food was fantastic. The first course was bread. It was extremely tasty. Even fortunately it didn’t come with a plate. Little awkward sitting here, holding your bread in your hand. Other then that the food and the service was outstanding. Be sure to bring your wallet, a thousand dollars for a table of four with a five course menu, and only three people had the wine pairing.

Went for our anniversary and was wowed! Did the 5 course with modifications for our allergies. The interior was beautiful and dimly lit, the open kitchen feels intimate. Was truly impressed with each dish, the complexity of flavours and presentation was superb. Highly recommend for a special occasion! Also the Snap Pea cocktail blew my mind. The compliments port was a nice touch.

What a treat to go and dine at Perch. It will not disappoint. I have been here twice and had the 9 course meal and drink pairing which includes a mix of cocktails and wine. Each course is beautifully plated and so tasty. Very carefully thought out. I love seeing this restaurant doing so well. The staff here is AMAZING. All so friendly and attentive to their customers. This is a very high 4 star for me and nearly a 5 star. I loved some dishes more than others, but overall you will really enjoy the experience here. Some menu specifics - really a variety of everything. Shrimp, scallop, fishes, octopus, duck, fois Gras... the list goes on. The duck finale dish is the best duck I've ever had in North America. The drink pairing - the drink pairing was very memorable the first time that I dined here and while really great, a little less special the second time. They are always changing things up here and I hope to see some of the drinks from a few year ago!

We had a truly remarkable dinner last night at Perch Restaurant. We opted for the nine course menu. Each dish was sophisticated and truly delicious. The meal was the highlight of our trip to Ottawa!

So, I've been thinking about this place for over two months, and I finally decided to share my experience. The service was great, and the wine choices recommended by the server were amazing. But, the food was a bit of a letdown. We tried the 5-course tasting menu for two, and while all the dishes looked beautiful, they were lacking in flavour. The Nordic Shrimp might have been meant as a palate cleanser, but the broth was too light, and the caviar got lost in it. The second course needed salt or something, and the spaghettini dish tasted like vinegar mac and cheese. After that, we just ordered more wine and finished the remaining courses. Maybe it was just an off night, but we didn't feel like complaining, especially with the chefs right there. We paid, left a good tip, and called it a night.

We wanted to celebrate a birthday, and a 9 course meal was the perfect choice. Every one of the staff was excellent. The chefs are right there beside you preparing the masterful dishes for you to see. The price is to be expected for a meal of this caliber. We would definitely recommend Perch.

Tried the 9 course tasting menu with the wine pairing. Overall, only one or two of the courses were truly exceptional. The rest were good, but not necessarily memorable. The menu was very heavily skewed to seafood and only one course was another kind of protein. The presentation was good, but once again, not exceptional. The plates did not appear similar to those pictured on their website. The service was great, and the wine pairings were solid.

Consider yourself a lucky one if you get the chance to experience the pleasure that is Perch. Amanda, Chef Justin, and everyone on the team are incredibly thoughtful with not only the food and drinks, but the individual experience of each and every guest that sits at their tables. HIGHLY recommend doing the drink pairing option if you opt for the blind tasting, you won't regret it. Each time I have been here it has been a joy. We have dietary restrictions and they are always so accommodating to whatever your food needs may be. If you are looking for a restaurant that has unbelievably good food, and exceptional service and drinks you don't need to keep scrolling. Perch is where it's at.

This place is perfection. We loved the 5-course menu with pairings last night. The food and drinks were beautiful, creative, thoughtfully planned, balanced with so many tastes and textures, and just utterly delicious. I also adored the restrained portion sizes, which meant everything could be enjoyed - too often for tasting menus they’re too much. What an amazing, lovely little place.

Our 35 th wedding anniversary. Did the blind 9 course menus with the beverage pairing. Easily the best meal and experience I d ever had. Outstanding service. And a little something extra at the end to help us celebrate the event. Highly recommend!!!

What a hidden gem! We love Riviera normally as our go to, but perch might be our new favourite. The tasting menu was incredible - not one dish we weren’t blown away by. The cocktails were fantastic. The service is meticulous and the staff are friendly. Can’t say enough nice things about this spot.
