Not the kind of food I usually go for, but was impressed! I got the half chicken platter (good for two full meals). I recommend this place. I thought it might be bland and lacking In flavour, but I was wrong. The chicken had a lot more flavour than I thought, maybe a bit more would have been even greater. The plantain was yummy. Rice was cooked properly. Good overall portion size.

Money…after a hot day of sightseeing in Ottawa, this place was a nice surprise. This is what I call solid service, they see I have kids so give them a small bag of fries to eat while we wait. After a full day of walking these little gestures makes a huge difference. Everyone is all smiles from the lovely host to the chefs in the kitchen. Let’s get to the food…ordered a half mild, half extra hot. They made a error by adding spice to both so they just gave us another half chicken. All cooked well and everyone agreed it was the best chicken we had in a long time. All the sides were solid which is rare, rice, plantains and salad. Ordered 4 dumplings…delicious…money on all the food. About to leave after eating the best meal in Ottawa and chef offers cones for the kids. What can I say about this joint. Appreciation to staff and will be back to order take-out for road trip home tomorrow.

Delicious chicken, plantains and fries. The food was piping hot, super fresh and off the charts tasty. I recommend Pili Pili to everyone. The portions are massive and the 1/4 breast platter was great for dinner and lunch the next day. The spice level was tailored to each order which was great! 10/10. No, 12/10.

Dropped into Ottawa for the weekend, searched up a chicken place and came across them. From the wonderful service to the delicious food it was excellent. The salad was fresh with awesome sauce. The rice was well done and flavor full. The spicy chicken was spot on. All three combined, the young gentleman taking orders and the friendly lady at the counter made me write this review and give them a five star.

2023 June 4.5★ Walk right in and you'll smell the chicken! And it is amazing. Juicy with bold flavorful spices and aromas. Honestly one of the best chicken restaurants out there. If you can take the heat, get the extra spicy. As spicy as it is, you can still taste the chicken and all of its flavors. All Day Lunch Special: Leg plus 1/2 side $11.75 The plantain was ok. The side salad was ok. You're really here for the chicken and it was amazing. Definitely worth checking out. Would recommend. Street parking nearby.

The chicken is truly tasty, the kind that satisfies your craving. Medium spicy is nice, will try the max spice next time. Sides of rice, plantain, and salad that came with the chicken meal were all fresh and tasty too. Attikee (cassava couscous) with its sauce is delicious, my favourite side to order on its own.

Omg Amazing food and service. I was in Ottawa for business and Pili Pili came highly recommended from colleagues. The portions were huge and food was fresh. I mean huge because I have leftovers for 2 more meals! The service from Libya and Ramone was top notch and they made our group feel like family. I would HIGHLY recommend supporting this local business

I’m actually disappointed, this place used to taste good and idk what happened. I ordered a extra spicy 1/2 chicken platter & it was far from that. It was missing its flavour. I had to go back an order the same thing a second time just to make sure I wasn’t going crazy, only to find out I wasn’t. The chicken wasn’t it for me & like I said this place use to be good and rich in flavour and spice but it’s not it anymore. It’s still good, but I won’t be going back anytime soon

Best jerk I’ve had in Canada! Loved both their spicy and non spicy options. Chicken had beautiful flavours and the right balance. Lovely dips, fresh salad. Loved the ginger juice as well - went well with the spicy chicken. Great service from the guys as well - they offered extras that were available on deals.

In town just for transit and lunch, accidently found this place from Google Maps. Total satisfaction. Food is totally amazing. Ordered a two whole chicken meal which includes 3 sides for group of 6 people. The char on the chicken is such a wholesome experience. Perfect saltiness for me. We requested the spicy level to just a brush and it's on the perfect level balancing the flavor of the chicken in and out. Outside is crispy char, inside is soft and flavorful. Rice is fragrant, fries is crispy, and plantain is crispy on the outside while soft inside and there is a hint of sweet and tangy. Our server is really friendly, explaining each menu to us. And also had given us a free portion of rice. Will definitely come back when I visit Ottawa in the future.

Got the whole chicken with the pictured sides and it was fantastic. Juicy, flavourful and absolutely delicious. Impeccable service too and we got a tour of the menu where the unfamiliar items were explained not just patiently but with joy. Will return for sure.

Even though I still give YKO’s chicken (in vanier) an edge, this place outshines YKO in its charm and service. Fresh and made upon order is Pili Pili’s famous grilled chicken, seasoned rice, and plantains. It is definitely pricer in comparison to other places I’ve been (I paid $20 for the half chicken pictured) but everything was very delicious. The plantains were exactly as I like them: thick, juicy and sweet (I’m already craving more). The chicken was moist and well-seasoned. I ordered the spicy chicken but I found it very palatable with nary a hint of spice in my opinion. If you would like it spicier, it is possible to request the chicken even hotter. One distinguishable quality is the service. The staff were very welcoming and enthusiastic, carrying on conversations with the patrons as if they knew them for years. It was a very inviting atmosphere. I will be returning shortly.

Best chicken in Ottawa! And honestly… the rice and fried plantain are so good and the perfect side to the spicy chicken! (Mild and medium also available!) and I just found out today their entire menu is gluten free! Real, fresh, tasty! You can’t go wrong!

Both the service and the food was impeccable. We paid $23 after tip for a 2 chicken breast meal that had a perfect amount of meat, rice, salad and plantains. Highly worth the small wait and price. The service was very friendly and welcoming. The food was incredibly flavorful. I will definitely be returning.

The first time going to eat @ Pili Pili was worth the experience. I had the double leg breast with seasoned fries and rice. Overall it’s pretty much one of the best places to eat when your downtown Ottawa. The lunch menu is great and the restaurant offers some amazing options. The owners have done an excellent service to their customers and guest.

Absolutely loved the food, very large food portions, very fresh, hot and flavorful. I ordered the spicy chicken breast combo and it really was a meal for two. The chicken was actually spicy, and very delicious. The plantain is also a must try! When I'm back in Ottawa this will be my top destination.

I would go back. Prices were around $23 for a whole chicken and $8 for the half foam container of the casava couscous and fresh salsa like salad for its topping.

The best place to get Pili Pili chicken in town, the chicken is very tasty and delicious. I got all day lunch special it’s came with chicken breast and two sides for just 13.5$ which is a great deal. The owner and stuff is very friendly. Can’t wait to came back again.

The owners are very friendly and the food is really tasty! I got extra spicy for my chicken but in all honestly, it wasn’t spicy at all! I wish it came with extra sauce on the side so we could pour it on the rice or chicken! (Not sure if that’s an option) I would definitely return and highly recommend trying it on your next lunch break!

Excellent chicken and sides! Super flavourful and chargrilled. Really liked the plantains and chikwangue too (kinda like an Asian glutinous rice roll).

This could be the best grilled chicken I've ever had! Flavor and spice are amazing, chicken is juicy. Had "very spicy" which had a wonderful heat, and no masking of flavor. Plantains and rice for sides made the perfect lunch.

First, very friendly and helpful staff! The greeter welcomed us warmly and gave us time to decide, and then made recommendations (the whole chicken with 3 sides for our family of 4 including two teen boys). The chicken and fries (regular and seasoned) and rice were fantastic, and the seasoned had kick! The owners (wife and husband we assume) spoke with us as we left, and were extremely friendly and genuine. Would definitely recommend and will be back! Great value as well!

One of our favorite restaurants in Ottawa. Best grilled chicken in the city. I miss living a 10 minutes away from the Dalhousie location. Would love to see a location in the west end!
