It is a small mall that looks very sad at the moment. Even before the pandemic, the mall did not get too much traffic. After the lockdown, it looks like a sinking ship: the Independent grocery store is gone, many stores are vacant, the food court is empty. With the GoodLife Fitness opening a new 24/7 facility here, there may be hope for the mall. Some stores are still operating. So is the Hazeldean Dental Group, an optometrist, a shoe repair shop, and a tailor shop. Santa Claus photo sessions are still happening this December.

Nice place and doing the best they can to work during this Pandemic. Nice friendly, clean, happy atmoshere. Glad we could help some of our local businesses by shopping once awhile.

Post pandemic this mall has fallen from grace. Many stores shut down for one reason or another including the Independence. As of writing all food court establishments have closed down and the court now just serves as a seating area. Very few selection exists from still operating stores. There's a record store, a sweets shop, and a sports store with the rest being apparel or accessories. The Gym there is nice but that's about it. It serves as a bus stop, a gym, a place to get your prescription, and a place to hide from the cold and use the restroom. I have fond memories of this place when I visited it as a child and I hope it finds a way to rejuvenate itself.

Most stores were either vacant or about to be close, or on reduced hours. The mall owner also made no effort in making the people pass through the store for Good Life fitness, which would attract more customers to retail store that do pay alot. Hope that it will turn around, used to be the only inside mall that you could go for a cup of coffee and shop, that's so sad, because still good businesses are inside of that mall, not sure how they survive!

The filled in thier water fountain things with gravel and pitted plants. It doesn't look that great and really took away from the place. It's also very empty in there. The grocery store left. There is a lot of room in the mall for a bazaar.

This mall has fallen. I remember when it was good..now, it's essentially Reitmans and Bentleys. There's nothing in the food court. It's a shame, really. Kinda surprised the mall is still open, to be honest

Small shopping plaza with various stores and ample parking space. It's also easy to get and there's a fitness centre. I went there for my overdue annual eye exam. The optometrist works inside the Pearle Vision shop. Very satisfied with the staff, care, efficiency and service.

This mall was absolutely the best. It had all the shops I wanted and there was plenty of parking spots.

Was a good small mall 17 years ago. The latest nail in the coffin is the closure of the grocery store in the summer 2022. The only last anchor is the pharmacy. Given retail expansion in Stittsville and South Kanata, the only answer is to bulldoze the whole place.

While there are less stores here now than in previous years, the management seems to be doing a very good job to still make the shopping experience feel new and stress free. Everywhere is spotlessly clean, including bathrooms. It seems like a genuine large effort is being made to breathe new life into the mall. Stores are limited, but it's great for a coffee, groceries, and some quick niche shopping. Repair stores (leather, shoe) and other services here have been great, if a tad expensive at times. Always feel safe shopping here, etc.

Sad.. very sad, walk around the place and see the character and love, the water fall steps filled in to save money.. the stores closing and shops empty. Owners had a good run and hope they can some how salvage this place

This location is pretty dead. At least 40% of the stores are vacated. Provides quiet shopping for some of the hidden gems like the Reitmans and record store, but hoping once the T&T opens in 2024 this place picks up with some more unique stores

2023: Also known as Boulevard of Broken Dreams. Many stores have closed in the last 5 years. There's no food court anymore: Second Cup closed, The Chinese restaurant from the 80's closed...A&W and Subways had closed a couple of years ago. The main anchor tenant closed: Independent Grocer. Stokes (the kitchen store closed). Laura Secord closed. This mall looks like a ghost town in a rust belt former boom town that time forgot. It's crazy to think this was the only mall with a Target store in the west end just a few years ago (the other one being Bayshore). This space that was vacant for a while now has a Cheerleading gym take over, and it looks quite nice to be frank. I hope this mall is demolished soon and a large and modern mall is built. 2018: It has good shops like Laura Secord chocolatier but Hazeldean mall needs to be redesigned and revamped.

Sad. Only 15% of the entire mall is occupied. Waste of my time. It was sad, very.

If you are familiar with this Mall, then you know that it has diminished over time. Almost all the stores that were once in the mall are no longer there, except for a few die-hards. The only new place is the flagship Good Life, which is massive by the way, as they put it in the old loading area. Technically it's not part of the mall since it's a dedicated entrance, but anyway. There's lot of parking though, since its for the whole mall.

It is frustrating that the stores within the mall have different operating hours than the mall hours. I searched the mall operating hours and it said open until 5pm on Sunday but apparently a portion of the stores are not open at all on Sunday? This might be why the mall is doing so poorly.

Fantastic location but horribly managed . Every store is leaving. Thought having GoodLife and a cheer gym would spice things up but even more stores shut down. What's up with that. I hope this mall revives though. Go mall go!

The mall is becoming more and more deader. Lots of vacant stores, no anchor tenants after the loss of Independent. I'm not sure if the addition of GoodLife Fitness will be beneficial for this dead mall...

It’s okay. Empty and not brand new. Has a good record shop and a Canada post inside Rexall pharmacy.

I just had a return and exchanges to do today. So happy they had the sizes I needed. The girls who took care of me were demonstrating wonderful teamwork, knowledge and very friendly... Kudos to the whole team! 👏

Pretty empty mall, except for a few stores, but has a lot of potential. Hope to see it return to it's former glory in time.

Used to be such a lovely mall with clock, fireplace, sitting area, food court, shops. It has really changed over the last 10 years (and not for the better).

Shopping Centre Located In Kanata. We Used The Parking Lot As A Meeting Place With Drillers And Engineers. We were operating Traffic Control For Them.

My dentist works at this location. It's reasonably close and most times not too busy except at certain times over Christmas.

Many shops are closed. Reitmans. Bentleys, Farrah Jewellers and Watch Repair guy still open. Good place to walk. Lots of free parking.

Has it ALL!!!!! However, the Loblaws as usual is expensive as ever. Blown away the prices are still jacked sky high when our tax dollars paid for MILLIONS in new refrigeration units..which doesn't make any sense to me..not to mention that they made triple profits during the pandemic. Still sucking more $ from working poor, they don't even have jobs for checkouts anymore..replacing humans with self checkouts, more $ in their pocket, and less first job opportunity for youth. Many start in the workforce in grocery stores as first jobs, or as a second job for those needing another income. It used to be fair by hiring disabled and the elderly. Now we don't even get better prices AND have to do the checkout job without pay!!! On another note, this mall has it all, and is definitely worth going to!

I always love Hazeldean Mall. It's a shame there's less stores in it than there was when I was younger. I love that the Second Cup is still there. That Second Cup has always been my favorite place to get a hot chocolate

A great place to shop. Been shopping there since 1980. I always come back. My 1st mall, moving up here. I get my prescriptions, dental, groceries and a coffee there. Love the place.

Okay mall, not a lot of useful stores though. Lots of hard to find stores like children's classy wear, rug store, things engraved, chocolate stores etc.

I got my vaccine at the pharmacy. The pharmacist Geoff yelled at me for stepping away from the counter and I did not receive any literature from them referencing the vaccine at all. Very disappointing but the mall was nice and pleasant. Will not go back to pharmacy.

A sad ghost town that used to be bustling. No food court. Half of the stores are gone. I left very depressed. We all have been forced to buy online, so many places just can't keep up. Covid has forced a dystopia on us. Such a shame.

Almost nothing left in this mall. However, there is a jeweler where one can get repairs and a Northern Reflections with abundant stock with reasonable prices.

  • 2/5 Marcus L. 1 year ago on Google
Nothing of interest in this mall. Yes there is a gym now, and there is Independent Grocer, but there really is no ACTUAL food court (second cup doesn’t make it a food court) and there are barely any good stores here anymore.

Nice mall, it was highly effected by Ontario's covid-19 restrictions, 95% of businesses are now gone. The mall is empty with only about five stores managing to stay open.

Dead place. Many empty spots and more closing. Going somewhere else to get what you need is probably a good idea.

Just about every store was closed down. Kudos to all the retailers that are sticking it out. Gotta get some bigger retailers in there to elevate the experience

The mall no longer has a grocery store but this indoor mall is great to walk around, drop off a parcel at the post office, do some clothes shopping, have a workout at the Goodlife Gym, enjoy some lunch, or grab a coffee and have a chat with friends. Be indoors on those cold wintery days. Lots of available parking, great central location

Very quiet mall but still nice to visit in case you’re living around the neighborhood and are lazy to go to bigger malls ;)

Small indoor mall in Kanata. Used to be great, but has lost quite a few of the bigger shops (Sellars, grocery store, coffee shop). Hopefully more will come.
