I was craving a good cake and read that this place has the best. Unfortunately, it wasn't the case, cakes and croissant were less than okay. I also wanted to try the famous Italian Granita, but what I had received was a flavorless lemonade 😑. Definitely not going back to this place!!!

The cafe itself is tiny and has a very cozy feel to it. I love the fact that the cafe has a lot of options to choose from, both to eat and drink. The price is quite reasonable and the servings is generous as well. They do have a couple do tables for those looking to sit and grab a bite. In terms of improvements, the chicken in the chicken Panini needed to be cooked better. It was not cooked evenly as i found it undercooked in places.

A few years ago their iconic lobster tail dessert was soooo delicious, filled with tastiest cream ever. BUT NOW, it is filled with chiepiest whipped cream. They are obviously cutting costs, but risk their reputation. I will never go there again.

Loved the entire experience! Guy at the front was really friendly and I loved my sweets and hot chocolate. The upstairs is such a treasure!

The service is very slow. It took more than 30 min to make coffee and grab the ready cakes. The coffee and cake are tasty. The coffee shop does not look nice at all. They did a mistake by charging me for extra stuff that I didn't order. I asked for take away cup,but they get me normal dining in cups. The staff are not trained at all. There is only one lady that know the work but other two are not aware of anything and they did mistakes in each and every order. I witness three mistakes in the 3 customers ahead of me. Can't recommend this place.

Selected two cakes for our first visit based purely on window appeal. We got the pistachio and buttercream cake and Ferrero Rocher cake. Unfortunately both were not enjoyable. The sponges were well baked but lacked flavour and the icing was overly sweet and also lacked flavour. The pistachio cake lacked pistachio flavour and the Ferrero Rocher cake lacked Ferrero flavour. Some other treats looked good So I may come back to try them someday but it wasn’t a great first experience.

Cute coffee shop in Little Italy. The service we received was excellent and we really appreciated the recommendations that were provided. We tried the pistachio and opera cakes. We found both cakes extremely sweet, a little too much for our liking. The upstairs seating was cute but a little dated. Would visit again to try their mini cheesecakes.

I’ll admit this place is pretty solid. The prices are good and the servings are large. Lots of spacing available downstairs and upstairs. Great for a small group of friends looking for something to do during covid.

Really glad that we decided to visit this place. It is located in a nice area, and there are places to park close by too. They have such a variety of items to choose from. We went in looking for some sweet treats, however they also have some really good looking sandwiches/paninis too. The place is kept really nice, and the staff working were very friendly and welcoming. We ended up choosing 3 different desserts to try and they were all equally delicious, although we loved the Nutella Cheesecake the best. All were prepared very nicely. The prices are super reasonable as well. We definitely will be back to try more items and revisit our favs as well. Thanks for such an awesome experience and we were glad to support local. 😊

Excellent patio. Stopped as a mid cycle break for iced latte and dessert which was perfect. Just a short distance from dows lake bike paths.

nice quality pastries and sandwich options. Great space for study and meetings. French inspired decor in a heritage home. Was pretty empty for a Saturday evening so expect plenty of seating for small to medium parties. Nice decor and spaced out well for privacy if needed.

Delicious pastries, great drinks, relaxing vibe. I haven't been here since they were called Simply Biscotti but I love the renovated space upstairs.

First time buying a cake as all my regular spots were closed on Monday. I was extremely disappointed as the cake was destroyed by the time we got home. The have raised platform for their cake but the box is not deep enough to support the height of the cake. We picked up the cake and drove 10 minutes home while my son was holding it in his hand. The cake was not tasty at all either. Disappointed at that price

Like the location and the set up of the place - cute little house with large outdoor patio. Unimpressed by the quality of the espresso and pistachio cake. I had a small cortado and it tasted watery. The cake is very sweet with little flavor of pistachio, and it tasted stale. The Costco pistachio layer cake is much better. If this place wants to attract local customers, it needs to improve the quality of the food.

Had a delicious gluten free layered cake slice and cappuccino here a week ago. The mug was odd for the drink but tasted good, and the dessert delicious. I'm celiac so I was a little nervous, as there was no signs about gf. But the employee seemed confident so I ate half and felt fine so ate the rest later. So good!!! Gorgeous upstairs, so lovely for visiting, working, etc. Cute semi private room in the back would be great for a small group to meet in.

Lovely outdoor seating area. If it isn’t too crowded you can bring your bicycle right into the outdoor seating area. Bike friendly, easy to get to from the Trillium bike trail. Great food. Great desserts. Reminiscent of a European café stop. We love to bike here from the west end.

This is a lovely place. The food was delicious and staff was polite. However, it took almost 30 minutes to get served on Saturday morning with only 4 customers at the cafe. The prices are also quite steep. We had two breakfast sandwiches and two coffee drinks and paid over $40.

Hello, I work across the road from this Cafe and after a while I had decided to give it a try as a new spot for my post-lunch espresso as opposed to my typical run to Starbucks. Unfortunately, I will not be back. I was not greeted back as I walked in to the empty cafe by the seemingly upset employee for an unknown reason, who then proceeded to blankly stare at me in complete silence until I decided to speak up and go ahead and order… She then said nothing, and simply typed in the cost on the payment machine and swung it around to my end of the counter, again in complete silence, just a look of anger. When I got my espresso she slammed it down on the counter, and walked away, disregarding me saying “ have a good day, thanks! “ giving her every opportunity to show some form of customer service.. she failed miserably. Not to mention, the place was dirty, seats covered in crumbs, floors covered in sand and dirt.. absolutely appalling. To top it off, it was more expensive than Starbucks!! Won’t be back. First and last time there. Visit was Wednesday, June 28 @ 12:30pm.

We read some great reviews online but unfortunately it was quite underwhelming. The staff served food without washing their hands after returning from their lunch break. The food was okay, but overpriced. Oh and one of our cannolis has no frosting lol.

Unfortunate experience with the service. Great food, but the curly girl was forcing my group to leave the place. She looked uncomfortable with our presence, and we were just couples looking for a nice coffee and sandwich. 12 people won't go back to that location.

Great little cafe. The deserts are very yummy. Only thing I'd say to add is more gluten/dairy/lactose free options for the deserts. Highlight was the tiny glass jar of Nutella I got with my cake. <3 adorable!!! Thank you!

Very nice service! We came in and the two girls workung welcomed us all with very welcoming smiles. The one who took our order was a short girl with orange hair and was SO friendly and recommended us the best stuff. It was clear that she knows her stuff and does it with love and passion!!! Would 100% recommend if you’re in for a cozy, calm and friendly cafeteria.

What do I start? It was important to me to find a perfect high tea for our out of town family and thankfully I happened upon Carmelita Cafe on Preston. I kept making mistakes around date and time for the reservation. Tamara worked hard to make our tea happen. She was so very kind, understanding and helpful that I felt better. The high tea? Wowie! It knocked the Chateau L out of the park. Wonderful welcome. Superb pastries and sandwiches. All this in a beautiful fun environment. Thank you so much for making our day perfect.

Super cute Cafe, I tried to find an open coffee shop today(2023 ice storm) and came apon this gem. The coffee was amazing and all the desserts looked so delicious. I had a latte and chocolate croissant. The coffee shop was beautifully decorated and the upstairs was cozy. Can't wait to go back.

My friend and I go to Carmelito’s almost everyday for lunch. Staff is super friendly and the food is amazing. We always look forward to seeing the employees who we can connect with and treat us like friends. We always receive the best quality items and great service. I would recommend visiting and eating here!

Place is cute, food is hit or miss and over priced. My first impression was wonderful, I walked in and was greeted right away, I also really liked the atmosphere. My latte and the tiramisu was delicious, but since that first visit it’s just gone down hill. I do not recommend the sandwiches as I find them a waste of money and inedible. I’ve ordered a their sandwiches a few times, each time they were dry or soggy, cheese was hard and so was the bread. Got a breakfast croissant and the egg was cold pretty much frozen, somehow ended up being really moist pretty much wet but the croissant itself was burnt. As for the desserts, I’ve gotten desserts that had the taste of freezer burn and cookies that were hard as rocks. For mediocre treats they’re very over prices. What I can recommend is the blueberry cheesecake, the tiramisu, and fruit tart! Amazing. With all this said the service is amazing and since I work in the area I’ll be back because my employer really enjoys it. Hopefully overtime they make improvements and I can give them a better review as I see potential.

Coming from Toronto, I’d say the price is fair, taste is decent, but not impressive. Maybe I was having high expectations after read the good reviews here. The desserts make a good date night companion.

Ordered 3 different pastries & they were lovely. I got a big chocolate cookie and it went perfectly with my tea. Tons of chocolate not too soft and hard perfect for dipping. They also came nicely packed with a cute note on the box. Definitely will come back my next cheat day!

Absolutely love the desserts from Carmelitos. My favourites are their summer fruit panna cottas and their cheese cakes. They also make a wonderful and chocolatey profiterole and a great tiramisu!

had a wonderful experience at this cafe ! The food was fresh and tasty and tables were well cleaned. I say a staff member do a cleaning round every half an hour and I was very impressed

The girl that was at front made me uncomfortable with her looks, I asked her a question and she looked at me as if I asked something so weird even though I was just asking for a phone charger. She also looked at me and my friends up and down. We ended up leaving because it was so uncomfortable. I love Carmelito and will always love to come to this place and wont stop but this time it was just uncomfortable with the looks and attitude.
