My favorite store in Ottawa

Horrible experience horrible staff horrible enviromment. To begin with the floor was wet when me and my younger sister came in a few days ago and she slipped and hurt herself. The least they could have done is atleast put a wet floor sign as it was not noticeable that it was. The store is constantly filthy, there would be cups with drinks in them on the shelves casually laying there they would not remove them, the floors are always sticky and their electric items usually do not work, chargers would break in days, my buddy got a gift box that had mold inside of it and a lot of their glassware is chipped. Many prices went up but they would not change the tags so workers would have to search for something that matches the original price which i find so unprofessional and most times they would take ages to find that. Staff members are always giving attitude, I have personally saw an older worker push around a younger staff member and an example to horrible customer service is that young man with black hair and a beard. He would sound dead of life and would huff and puff when you'd ask for guidance. Also heard from friends that worked there a few months ago that management pushes you around, would not respect your hours and would cherry pick favorites. Overral disgusted by this place and their standards.

Miss not having Cashiers...they were always friendly and helpful. It was much faster with them. Not a fan of self checkout. I won't be back

I have to say, this has to be a first, The cleanest Dollarama I have ever been inside. Well organized shelves you'd think they had minions running around in the background keeping those shelves stocked. The staff are eager to help and they're friendly!

Worst management I've ever seen. Management team outright refuses to jump on cash. Filthy floors, filthier bathroom, management never schedules enough cashiers (see above), disorganized displays where the mentality is "put the product out" rather than "put the product where it belongs so people understand the prices", a complete lack of regard for complaints, and the management seems to enjoy obstructing employees. Management will lie to save themselves from accountability without any evidence, even contradicting themselves in the same breath. Shop elsewhere.

Pretty huge store n tons of stuff .

First time I see self-checkouts in a Dollorama. Great place with friendly staff.

Dollarama is a pretty nice place,doing decent measures to prevent the spread of covid-19,and CAN have some nice grabs,but of course there are some things that break within a couple of days.So it's okay in terms of kids toys,They have cheap candy (good for halloween)And most of the other things are pretty darn good for their place,over all,not bad!

Visited the store before the close. Many customers were there. Product was organized very well and all of the customers were wearing masks. Felt safe and well. I like the new self-checkout machine!

I was today (Jan 28th/2020) at Barrhaven Dollarama (3777 Strandherd Dr.) and I felt so angry, because the cashier (the usual lady with the glasses) wanted me to pay at the self check out . Three times I had to say to her NO. I didn't wanted to do it because I have so many things in my cart (I spent $62.43). I wonder if I have to feel obligated to pay at the shelf check out. She was the only cashier at the moment, but the store was pretty much empty. pd: I attached a picture of my receipt (showing the day, hour, and maybe the code for the cashier)

Similar to all other Dollarama - narrow aisles, Dollarama smell, cheap products.

I like this location because the have self service you don’t need to stand for long on the line to pay there are Multiple self check out machines available.

It has almost everything that you need at affordable prices. Although, I think people buy just because it's cheaper, not because they need it.

Went in to buy some plastic cups for the kids, they also had bigger cups for adults. Unfortunately it seems that someone ripped off the sticker for pricing. The staff was really nice and immediately sent someone to either find a set that had the price or to just get the price. As this was the last of the stock, they got the price and charged me appropriately. Very quick, no fuss and great service all around.

We usually get kids birthday party supplies here and other miscellaneous items. This location now has 4 self checkouts, so usually there are no major lineups.

Looking for cards for birthdays and anniversaries . Wish the selection was more varied and had a section of cards in the French language. Would be appreciated. Thank you

Went to get some Easter goodies for kids. There was a wide variety of products to select. Self-checkout was fast. Girl employee wearing a mask very politely wished me a good evening on the way out. Total in-store time less than five minutes. That's my kind of shopping.

Great place, it's a little smaller than some other stores but it's always clean and shelves stocked for the things you need in a hurry.

Typical wrong prices. You always saw one or two when cashiers did the work, but with self-checkout you can't fix it. Typical crooked franchisees at this location.

They're all my machines and of course they have the self-checkout and apparently they don't take $100 bills the lady lost her keys and could not find it for me and open the cash so I can purchase my items $100 bill is the same as I ain't talking money why doesn't it work and why did employees not be able to do things properly that's a waste of my gas in my time if you can't accept my payment and I have the money there and you're not willing to give me the thing it should be free this is ridiculous just wasted however long shopping around to be told that she couldn't do it for absolutely no reason because she lost her keys do better

Good deals on tissue paper and gift bags. Most things $1.25. Chocolate bars are even cheaper.

Wide selection of products at the best price. Kids usually enjoy the art and craft section.

Dollarama. What else I could say? Full of Canada decorations at this time of the year.

It's your run of the mill Dollarama. Nothing special about it but nothing bad to complain about either.

Love their products, cheaper than grocery stores sometimes, prices have gone up on some items but still good deals to be had

Floors are always filthy and they only have cramped self checkout machines. I hate this location and only go here as a very last resort. Avoid!!

This store needs to improve their social distancing measures. I felt extremely uncomfortable when I was there and no one was paying any attention to the arrows. Here’s a suggestion: In Carleton Place at a dollar store, an employee wearing a mask greets you outside, puts hand sanitizer on your hands, and reminds you: “We are very strict about social distancing, please take care to follow the arrows”. She said this to everyone entering the store, and it was seamless.

According to in-store staff, it of Moe corporate policy to keep 1 staff member in on the floor and zero on cash. This forces the use of self checkout and eliminates jobs. I took my business to Giant Tiger today

Got what I need, an accordion folder to organize my receipts. Parking is plenty.

Prices are getting expensive. Nothing there is just a dollar anymore. Most things are 3 and 4 dollars.

Good place for simple things odd and ends

These places have a good array of goods at remarkably low prices. It's generally low quality, but the price/quality ratio is great. I was able to find big elastic bands to hold plastic bags firmly in our garbage cans. I couldn't find small cleaning brushes. Great place.

Discussing, the store was so dirty looked lije the floors haven't been cleaned or swept in months and I was there right after it opened. Will never go back there.

Well stocked. Lots of Christmas decorations and stocking stuffers. Was busy but cashiers were quick and friendly.

I always love this store. You never know what you will find but there is always something fun!

This Dollarama is not the greatest of them all. It's run down, dirty and very, very cramped inside, no way to do any safe social distancing in most of the aisles. On a brighter note, some of the staff are quite nice. If your looking for a Dollarama in Barrhaven, I would strongly suggest avoiding this one and going to the one near the Costco. It is much better and worth the trip.

I shop here regularly and it's always got full stock, staff are always super friendly, and long lineups are always dealt with quickly. Never had any issues here whatsoever.
