We ordered the XL beef burger and Canadian pizza. The XL burger was definitely unique as the patty was soft, tender and packed with flavors. The pizza's crust was thin and crispy with tasty toppings. Finally, the chocolate mousse was a tad too sweet for me but was great for my partner! The host was very nice and accommodating, we'd definitely would come back to try different dishes.

Great experience! Friendly waiter, very comfortable space. Simple but really tasty food ( which is rarity in Ottawa). They use fresh and good quality ingredients. The only one thing-you should wait a bit more , but worth it. It’s better to wait and eat a good meal than having heartburn after the garbage that is often fed in Ottawa restaurants. We were 5 adults and 2 kids who totally satisfied with the meal!

Amazing quality ingredients, prepared and served with care by kind and welcoming staff. The pizza here is classic Italian thin crust, with fresh and flavorful toppings. Their traditional pizza oven is beautiful, and will likely keep the dining room toasty once patio season ends. Brunch on the weekend feels very European, and includes options not found anywhere else. Love this place!

We visited Ottawa this past weekend and few friends from Toronto recommended that we go here for dinner… and wow, the food was amazing! We had the Pleskavica XL Beef Burger (highly highly recommend this!), wood oven pizza and Uviyach (which is pork loin roll stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon!!) All the food was amazing and truly met our expectations from the recommendations that we got. Also, the pizza was one of the best I’ve had in a while! Highly recommend this please if you’re visiting Ottawa!

Amazing food, cozy place. Some places you say "wow" on the first bite - here I was still saying it on the last. During the shutdowns from the pandemic, doing take-out only. Their mushroom risotto and balkan sausage dishes are our recent favourites, but I have loved their pizza too. It is more than worth calling ahead and driving or walking over during this time. In normal times it is an intimate cozy atmosphere. Try it! You will be happily surprised.

Hidden gem of the Byward market. Great atmosphere and the staff very attentive. Chicken parmigiana was so juicy and pasta sauce was on point. Pizzas are so delicious and yes even the salad was tasty.

A very comforting welcome during the time of Corona. According to the Guidance on Health and Safety during COVID-19 clear signage clear signage and a sanitizing station was installed throughout the restaurant .The table and the seats were thoroughly cleaned upon our arrival, which made us feel safe and comforting. We were seated at an isolated table on the terrace well apart from the other guests. The owners are very attentive and friendly so we learned about the cuts and the best local supply while browsing the menus. It is not my first visit and I am well acquainted with the good food the restaurant offers, but this time they took me by surprise- we got a plate of various roasts and meat , but also there were THE UVIJACHI ( rolls of meat stuffed with good cheese). Delicious !!

This is one of the best restaurants in Ottawa! The food is authentic Balkan: the flavors are amazing! The service is incredible, the owners are always there to chat give good suggestions or simply just to welcome you warmly! They have just came up with the new dish, it is Cornbread Chicken Casserole (I am attaching a photo of it here)! It is hard to describe the quality of it!!!! I highlighted recommend this place!!

Bistro Ristoro is easily one of our favourite restaurants in Ottawa. It's a wonderful local business run by the best people - we always have great conversations with Vlado and Lydia when we are there. The restaurant serves delicious, authentic Macedonian food. The last time we went there we had the piquant stuffed champignons, the pillows, the spicy sausage roll ups, and much more - everything was AMAZING! One of my favourite dishes there has to be the Halloumi and roasted red pepper appetizer - the Halloumi is the perfect consistency and tastes really great! Their pizzas and mains are also fantastic, and I highly recommend the Oliva pizza if you like olives and mushroom :) One of our favourite things about this place is the passionate and energetic team that runs it - you can tell that the owners and staff truly care about putting delicious food out for their customers! It's unfortunate that we had to move out of Ottawa and can't visit anymore, but this is going to be our go-to place every time we travel to visit the city in the future!

Went with a friend yesterday evening for dinner - certainly wasn't disappointed. Halloumi was great (first time trying), and the champinones con chorizo were absolutely amazing. My main (the Veal XL Burger Plieskavitza) is one of the national dishes of Serbia; it tasted amazing and I was so full that I took the leftovers home. Note that the online menu has many more options than the in-person option. Service is quite slow, but it is one of the restaurants where they don't kick you out and want you to enjoy and savour your food. The owners and staff are extremely friendly. Will certainly be coming back here many times over.

This place is a jewel for those that love good food, even better service and a cozy atmosphere. The service makes you feel like at home, the Chef is not only an artist but a very approachable person, the music was fantastic. If you like Italian cuisine you have to visit this restaurant

So glad I found this restaurant. The friendly and attentive server, Matthew greeted us at the door and recommended the Tarragon Chicken and the Goat Cheeze pizzas and I was thrilled with them. I will definitely be back to try other pizzas and the other mains they have on their menu.

Amazing place! The Carbonara is creamy, and the bacon has just the right amount of saltiness to cut through it. The marinara sauce has a little wine taste that really enhanced the flavor of the calzone. 5 out of 5!

Best burger I've had in Ottawa by far. The buns are amazing they're made fresh every morning, the burger itself was juicy and full of flavour. The service was great and our food came out quick.

If you want to eat well made dishes, this place is amazing! Everything that we tried was spot on. From the pizza, which is baked in brick oven, to the meat dishes that they have. Here's some dishes that I'm recommending: -Veal XL burger - trust me on this one. -Chicken Marsala - perfectly grilled chicken meat with mushrooms and white source. -Pizza, just order anyone you want and you will not be disappointed. Picanha steak - we tried the medium rare and it was perfect!

Really friendly staff and great food! I especially loved the Bacalao Fritters w/ Garlic Aioli. The fritters were done perfectly!

What a wonderful gem of a restaurant and a must go!!! Our first time in Ottawa exploring the area and by chance found this restaurant. We LOVED it!! . We had the Pillows as an Appetizer and they were delicious! The stuffed eggplant was amazing and served in a very creative way with mascarpone and feta cheese on top! (So annoyed I didn’t take a photo!). One of the best eggplant dishes we have ever had! We paired it with a bottle of Zinfandel that really complemented the dish!! And a shout out to our server who was just the best!

Look no further than Bistro Ristoro, BEST restaurant in the market by far. Ate here tonight with my family and had an incredible gourmet Balkan dinner. Great atmosphere, friendly service & the food was phenomenal, so much love goes into this place. Cannot wait to return 🙂

Our family ate here several times when we stayed in the Byward Market recently. Their pizzas are AMAZING. You can tell that they are handmade by a master chef. Close your eyes and you're in Europe! Excellent!

On Friday November 6th, myself and my partner arrived in Ottawa for the weekend. Not realizing all restaurants closed at 10PM, we were resolved that we would be eating fast food when we stumbled upon Bistro Ristoro. We entered and were informed they were closed, but when we asked if they would make an order for take out the owner Vlado welcomed us in to sit and wait while they made our order. We ordered 2 pizzas which were simply fabulous!! This is due to a 100 year old family recipe!!! We look forward to our next trip to Ottawa so we can enjoy more of what Bistro Ristoro has to offer. I highly recommend a visit, you won't be disappointed in the food or hospitality!!!

I enjoyed very much first time I visited bistro. Coming from the Balkans, I expected not to be satisfied with the offer and quality. Bur, they proved me wrong. Poor prejudice! I really enjoy every single time I go there for a lunch or dinner, knowing that I won't be nostalgic for delicious food. Mediteranean, italian, Balkan - all in one: tasty and large portions Staff is always very welcoming and amusing.

Phoned for pick up order of pizza and chicken parmesan. Authentic quality food takes time but is worth the wait. They’re open 11:30 to 20:30 for pick up and delivery.

Pizza is as good as always! Call them to order for pick up :) They are in Foodora and also they receiving orders by phone. I called them and 30 minutes after I was able to pick up my order. The owners are the sweetest people ever and the pillows is the best starter !

Had the Pastrmaylia and it was wonderful. Desert was a chocolate mousse and was amazing. Owners provided excellent service and hospitality. Definitely recommend you give it a try.

We had plans to go somewhere else for dinner, but changed them when Bistro Ristoro was recommended. The atmosphere was lovely, and we were greeted warmly and served attentively. We had wine, a starter, and three main dishes. Everything was exceptional. We live three hours away, but will definitely return.

This place is a hidden gem. Was shocked that this place isn’t packed. I’ve been in Ottawa for 4 years and this might be the one of the best restaurants in Ottawa, if not the best. Absolutely delicious, authentic Mediterranean food. The vibe is great. Service is great as well. Have never left any google reviews but will gladly leave one for bistro risotto!

Wonderful experience. Awesome food and service. Nice music and atmosphere. Prices are surprisingly fair as well! The manager is also a very pleasant person. I ordered from the brunch menu, which apparently is new, and I absolutely recommend it. I had the tall burger. Also: I will definitely try the Picanha next time!

A good friend of ours treated us and two other couples to dinner last evening. Our friend has become friends with the owners and together they planned an amazing meal for us. We started off with a special bread that had a wrapped coin inside that brings good luck to the recipient. Two salads followed made from the freshest ingredients possible. We were then served cabbage rolls that were incredible. The main dish was lamb and potatoes roasted to perfection accompanied by hot peppers and a sauce.
