Music is really loud in the back patio and one of the servers (or the manager?) wasn’t wearing a mask and he spat on us while talking... Food: lots of things missing from the menu; they said they were out of chicken and duck :/ 1 extra star is for the dishes that came quickly. My beef tartare tasted normal but the bread that came with it was stale and hard to chew. I asked for chips instead but they tasted like they were left out (also stale and not crispy). We also got the lobster roll but the lobster meat was hardly there. Wouldn’t come back.

After having read the controversial reviews, I was ready for not-the-best-time. But the experience was actually not so bad. We made a reservation at 6PM for indoor standard, but they initially seated us outdoor. They did re-seat us inside when we mentioned it, but it was odd of them to check our reservation which stated indoor, but still seated us outdoor. Great interiors - well decorated and aesthetic! No, the staffs here don’t respect the covid regulations - 90% of staffs have their masks under their noses, and one of them had his under his lips. The waitress were friendly and quick in service. The food and drinks were surprisingly very tasty and huge in portion. I got Chicken and Waffle, and it was very tasty. Just found it a little odd and funny that they put the food on a huge plate, leaving an empty chunk of space 😅 My friend enjoyed her fig flatbread as well. Overall: beautiful interior, tasty food, good service after some ‘confusion’, but not well covid-maintained.

Price: a bit pricey but worth it My experience: the negative reviews are flawed! The food is really good, the drink menu is extensive and there's so much to choose from. The service is friendly and fair wait times, despite it being packed. We did make reservations a day in advance for the outdoor patio. The cheese board is enjoyable, got the large which was a lot for three of us sharing. I tried the strong island which was tasty and strong 😅, the Rudolph and Stormy drink (their version of a Moscow mule I think), and an old fashioned which was my favourite of the 3 drinks. One friend got the Queen's Garden which is the beautiful purple drink with the petals in it. My other friend tried the steak sandwich, which looked and sounded great. My other friends shared the sliders which they also really liked and one other friend got the vegetarian poke bowl which she was surprised at how good it tasted. Found out near the end that they have mulled wine for a warm alcoholic beverage which I highly recommend for the winter patio experience. Love the vibes and art. Music was great Highly recommend this spot and will be back whenever I'm back in Ottawa 🥂

Had a good experience at B2B last night. We had reservations, they were thorough in confirming our reservation. Upon arrival we were quickly seated and the server tended to us right away. I was pleasantly surprised by the food. The fig olive and goat cheese flatbread was decadent, I highly recommend it. Plus they have really tasty cocktails 🍸 The ambience is great, although I must say that the music inside was extremely loud. They also have rotating pot lights that shine right into your face which can be unpleasant while trying to have dinner. Altogether, I highly recommend trying B2B.

Rude staff and did not feel my business was welcome at all: I was wanting to use the (only 1 person) bathroom and was told to wait in a line along the wall with several other people by the bouncer. Fair. However, after waiting for 20+ minutes (while having to use the bathroom VERY badly) a waitress came up and told me that I could not wait there any longer due to the place being at maximum capacity, even though there were at least 4 other people in line waiting in front of me that she ignored, and figured I was the one that had to leave. After arguing with her, (who was very rude to me even though I was simply waiting for the bathroom as instructed by the bouncer), I finally was able to stay and use the washroom, after probably 30 minutes of waiting and explaining to the waitress, I returned to my table of 4, as we awaited the arrival of a 5th member. As said 5th member was trying to get inside, they did not let them in as they said our table was only made for 4 people and could not bring a chair up to our table to accommodate the extra customer. The waitress came back several times trying to figure out something and lied and said that bylaw did not allow patio seating above 4 people per table - I then pointed to the table of 7 people crammed at one table, asking why they are given special treatment and then she became flustered and stormed away midway through our conversation and we did not see our waitress for the next 30 minutes with our friend blocked at the front door. At this point we wanted nothing more to do with the establishment and wanted to pay and leave, and still nobody came to our assistance. We had to get up and look for a waitress to get our bills. Seems like the various groups of tattooed steroid using dudes ordering bottle service were having a great time though! I guess that's the audience that this place caters to, and does not treat everybody equally. Maybe they should be less focused on the "image" or "prestige" of the place and treat their customers a little better. I bet if I ordered a bottle or two they would have been a bit nicer eh? I'm never coming back here again and would not recommend it to my friends, or anybody for that matter.

Went there for lunch today, I thought the service was really good , quick and friendly. I had the b2b burger which I thought was ok however, my top bun was wet like it was sitting in grease or something wet. The meat it self I thought was really good and juicy. The chips were awesome! The sangria was very flavourful but I doubt there was much wine or liquor as they advertised. I think their music on the patio is pretty loud but at least it was decent music. I’ll give it 3.8 stars but I’m not sure id return.

Came in here on a Sunday evening for a quick business trip and decided to have a drink. Intended to stay for one drink but the staff kept me around for good reason until closing! Staff were very friendly, accommodating and made great impression even if they had a less than ideal party in the back patio. Definitely looking to come back to here next time I am in Ottawa! Keep it up you all!

I never take the time to write a review but I hope this will help to make this resto better. I was excited to try the bacon cheeseburger on the Keto menu. My friend ordered the bacon cheeseburger on the regular menu. Absolutely nothing that was supposed to be on my Keto burger was there. No mayo no sundried tomato. Nothing. It was two greasy, rubbery patties w half a slice of bacon on a chewy bun. A sliver of cheese was melted on. So disappointing. We had to wave our server over every single time because she was too busy flirting w a staff behind the bar. We had to wave her over for drinks (twice) and water and by the time the food came we were sick and tired of trying to catch her eye. And yes, we had to wave her over to get the bill as well. We didn’t feel taken care of the way you look forward to when eating out. The temperature in the resto was absolutely freezing. Our fingers were SO cold. Nowhere to hang your jacket...tho it is SO cold in there I guarantee you will keep it on the entire time. The washroom was messy and garbage overflowing and toilet seat covered in pee. Only good thing was the music and a Cesar...but that’s not enough to get us back there ever again. Very disappointed in the two patties on a bun. Was really looking forward to seeing what sherry mayo tasted like but I guess I’ll have to find a recipe on line to try it

Never go here! I had the worst experience. The male bouncer was touching up me and my girlfriends. It made us severely uncomfortable before we even walked in the door. I complained to the manager and he argued with me. Then he kicked my friend out for rejecting a creepy guy and he wouldn’t let me back in to get my friends. Overall a horrific experience. I’ve never met such a rude and hostile manager in my life. If you are a women this is not a good place to go.

Back to Brooklyn is one of the best places you can go in the city for both their food and entertainment. They provide a great ambiance. They have a cherry blossom tree right in the restaurant and a water fall on the back patio. All their staff are well trained, very accommodating and they go out of their way to make sure you are having a great experience. I highly recommend you try one of their delicious cocktails and pair it with one of the mouth watering dishes they offer. A must try is their espresso martini and the chicken and waffles. You won't be disappointed.

We went out of our way to try something new for Father's day. It was a great experience overall even though my first impression wasn't ideal. The food and service was great is what matters most. Definitely give it a go.

First time there and probably my last. 2 stars for the drinks and ambience but the food was horrible. Waited over an hour for a couple of burgers and everyone on the table said their plate was cold. Not even sure the "chef" followed the menu as the toppings on my burger made no sense. At these prices its abit of a joke.

Venue is pretty, staff is nice, music great. Management is very uptight and it makes the overall place feel like you're constantly being watched to make sure you don't have too much fun. Weird Vibes, lame crowd - wouldn't come back which is a shame because the place is very pretty - has lots of potential.

Over-hyped and thoroughly underwhelming. My friend's and I had placed a reservation and were looking forward to having our girl's Xmas dinner here. When we arrived they stated we had to sit outside on the patio even though we had a reservation. We requested to be sat inside and we were told we could not be accommodated. Mind you, they had several unoccupied tables inside at the time. The table we were seated at was comically big and did not fit the chairs on one side and the couches on the other side. The table came up to our shoulders and we could barely hear our friends on the other side of the table. When the waitress came by we once again asked about the chances of us sitting inside to which she replied "there's a 30 percent chance that would happen". She asked if we were ready to order and when we said yes and my friend started to say the snacks we wanted the waitress turned on a dime and didn't come back for 20 mins. The bar staff seems to be more interested in making eyes at one another than helping customers. We decided to order drinks and some snacks against our initial reaction to just get up and leave. The "herbed and spiced nuts" were clearly just salted nuts. The kettle chips with jamaican spice was clearly just miss Vickie's chips (the bottom of the bag at that) with a spicy mayo dip. While we were having our drinks, a piece of wood from their makeshift patio fell on patrons across from us. There seemed to be little apology or any acknowledgement of this happening. Since we were seated outside we asked if they could turn on the patio heater and our waitress informed us that it was out of propane. The washroom was not maintained and was pretty gross for a quality establishment. As we were settling up our bill a group of two women came and sat on the chairs beside us (one chair had a drip from the roof since it was raining that night) the hostess immediately gave these women what looked like snuggies in their original packaging, however these were never offered to us despite our requests about the heater and being moved inside. Overall thoroughly unimpressed with the whole experience, this place seems to rely heavily on their aesthetics and "vibe" which was not that impressive. I believe it may cater to an industry crowd but had little regard for their other customers. We had to laugh at how awful the whole night was and we were so happy to have left this place to go home and order a pizza and not waste our money here.

Beautiful decor, friendly service, amazing vibes! The cocktails are excellent and the food is absolutely delicious! I had the seafood pasta and my partner had the mushroom risotto. Both were cooked perfectly and full of flavour. Highly recommend for date night, or a fun night out with friends!

The place is very cute- definitely a vibe. But the food was terrible. I went with two other friends- we all got salads. It’s very hard to get a salad wrong- but all three salads were terrible. My friends salad came with no dressing. We all paid extra for chicken (was supposed to be Cajun chicken) and it was very dry and tasteless. When I mentioned the chicken had no flavour the response was “oh ok” and “ do you want hot sauce”. There was no initiative from the waitress to help make thing right or for us to actually enjoy our meal. Overall not a good experience. Paid a lot and we all left hungry.

Went for brunch on a Sunday. Service was pretty good, the server brought my wife a Huggie to keep her warm. That was a nice touch. The food was ok, we shared a cheese platter, no idea what kind of cheeses we had, nobody explained it to us. Also there was no coffee of any kind, which is pretty unfortunate when you are having brunch

Went to Back to Brooklyn with my wife last Saturday for dinner. The food is very good: steak tartare; Brooklyn burger; chicken and waffles. Great cocktails too! Our server, whose name I can't recall, was also very friendly...whenever we saw her, which unfortunately was not very often. We ended up waiting a full 45 minutes between having our appetizer cleared and our mains arriving. For most of that time we didn't even get checked on by anyone (it would've been nice to at least order another drink!) so sitting there with empty drink glasses, empty water glasses, watching the tables around us order, eat, pay and leave was...not much fun. TL;DR: The food is good, but for a place that costs north of $150 for dinner for two, the service needs improvement.

I really enjoyed the vibes that this place gave and heard really good things about here, but the food was not great. My friends and I went here for Brunch on Saturday and we waited for 40 minutes to get our food... we were super excited when it arrived because it looked amazing but it it turned out to be the opposite. Unfortunately all our potatoes were cold, the bread to my Eggs Benedict and my friends Duck Grilled cheese was as hard as a brick, and nothing was hot. It felt like the food sat there for a long time before being served to us, which was disappointing!

I had high hopes for B2B after hearing about their keto menu. I am not a picky eater and don’t usually write restaurant reviews with criticism. I’ll start with the positive - the patio is unique, servers were friendly. As for the negatives - I ordered the burger with a keto bun and my friend ordered the same thing with a regular bun. Both our burgers were hard, dry and the flavour was flat. It sounded great but I was disappointed. The portion size is very small (and cost $18) and both of us had to eat a second dinner when we got home. My side was a “green goddess salad” but was really only a small pile of arugula with a bit of vinaigrette, nothing to it. My friend’s came with a tiny pile of kettle chips. As for drink costs, it was certainly New York in that regard. Will not be coming Back to Brooklyn.

Limited menu items. Many items were not available at the time. The food was okay... average fare and definitely not a place if you're looking for a beer (only Corona and Heineken). Mostly cocktails and wine. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The high seating is a bit awkward, and you have to watch your step.... you'll understand when you're there.

Went for brunch on a cold November weekend, really like their heated patio dining area. Food was great, eggs cooked perfectly with a jammy yolk👍🏼, my husband had the steak sandwich. Cocktail was good too, white wine sangria had just the right buzz for brunch. Server was attentive and friendly. Reasonable prices.

Back to Brooklyn hosted my GF, birthday party. They helped us with the planning, let us bring a cake in, and printed a private menu that she loved. The food was great, service incredible, and all the guests had a blast. Nigel, the manager and one of the owners, tended to us too and made sure we were having a good time!

Spoke with the owner Nigel to book last minute for my birthday with a very large group. He was able to book a spot for us all for bottle service and the minimum requirement to spend was very affordable. He was efficient, provided us with all the information we needed and was SO SO kind! Can’t wait to celebrate my birthday there! Thank you Nigel!

My first time there and it was okay. Service was a little slow but the waitress was very new at the job and she was learning. Nothing wrong with that. You gotta make a start somewhere. The food was okay... Nothing wrong with anything we had...Flavours were there but it was just okay. We had a good time while we were there.I will come back for a second try though.

Went for dinner and ordered the flat bread and my friend got the chicken sandwich. My friend found her sandwich enjoyable although the chicken was dry. The flat bread was soggy and there was a small piece of plastic on it that I bit into. Although ignored it and enjoyed some drinks. By far the best thing here is the drinks, a little pricey although it’s worth it. The ambiance was decent but the music was far too loud for dinner service.

Nice setting - we ate early on a Saturday but the half chicken and potatoes were stone cold when they arrived. Disappointing as it wasn’t busy. Very good Tristan drinks. Would likely try again if in the area.

I am not the type of person that writes reviews, ever! Much less bad ones. But I went there for brunch with my girlfriends this weekend and we were so disappointed. The ambiance is great and the decor is beautiful. Our server seemed lovely but she spoke very quietly for some reason and we were having a hard time hearing her. It took 45 minutes for our food to arrive, my dish was very salty. When we asked for coffee, she said they only serve espresso. With that in mind we then asked for three americanos and she said that was not a problem. We thought she would simply pour the shot, then add boiling water to the cup. But she brought us three cups of double shot espressos. When we asked if they were americanos, we had to explain what that was to her and then she brought an extra little container with warm water (we assumed from the tap). At that point we were so confused. My friend’s chicken and waffle was burnt and completely dry (which tells me it was baked in the oven) but we were all so hungry that we decided not to return the dish. I didn’t think to take a picture but I wish I did, it was almost unbelievable that they would serve that. I would also think that for $24 there would be a little garnish or something. But it was just dry waffles and chicken with maple syrup, that’s it. Anyways, of course we had a good time as friends, I will say the staff was friendly and restaurant is beautifully decorated.

This place has a good vibe thanks to its location and beautiful indoor decor. Great table service - our server was friendly, patient and helpful. The food and drinks were good - nothing mind-blowing and on the pricier side, but we left satisfied. They were diligent in ensuring that we wore masks to enter the premises, but their bathroom was clearly not being maintained which was a bit disappointing. Overall, a decent experience but not sure I'd keep going back.

The owners are amazing at what they do, I love this place! Since June I have been coming here so often, I love the ambiance, the service is amazing and so is the food. Just tried their new fall menu and it is a great addition. The decor, layout and music makes the restaurant feel so welcoming and fun. Gina, Marlena, and Armin (not sure if Nigel is still there) make everyone feel so special. One of the owners Jamie always makes a connection with returning customers and new ones of course!

Nice decor, decent drinks, amazing cheese cake. Music gets too loud at though night. I get wanting the energetic vibe, but it's not a club and when I'm sitting at a table for drinks I do want to be able to speak to the people I'm out with , without needing to almost yell the entire time. It was a great place untll the music cranked though.

Very nice terrasse but the food was thoroughly underwhelming. Ordered the BBQ chicken flatbread with a side of kettle chips. The portion of the flatbread was very small, only a tiny amount of chicken could be found on it and too much cheese for my taste. 17$ for it without any sides included felt way overpriced. A good amount of chips were served but I found that they only tasted like salt and not the Jamaican spice they were supposed to be seasoned with.

I heard such great things about this restaurant, so I was so excited to finally go! It has been a summer go-to spot to share a bite and drinks with friends. The hosts and servers make make sure that you're taken care of. The food has tasted amazing each time. I'm a big fan of the flat breads and sandwiches. The limited dessert menu (NY-style cheesecake) is definitely something you'll have to try. I highly recommend going to this place with a group, since a lot of the menu items are shareable like the sandwich, burger, and flat breads. B2B is right at the heart of downtown, and it might get busy during peak hours, which isn't a surprise. Thanks for serving us many times!

  • 3/5 Eric M. 3 years ago on Google
Great place, but the fact that they leave the patio door wide open to access the terasse freezes anyone sitting inside. And the doormen are to lazy to open and close it when the odd patron is ready to leave. Its a shame really because if not for those 2 muppets its a 5 star place.

Be aware that they will make you wait outside standing until your whole entire group arrives. We had reservations at 7 and even though i came on time (not early), i wasnt allowed the courtesy to have a seat at the table. The manager rudely argued that he's been in the industry for years and that its normal every where.... ???!!!! so have comfortable shoes, pray for good weather or come united. Otherwise expect to be on the street til your whole crew comes if you want to get in. Side note funny how my white friend showed up after me and asked to be seated to wait for the rest of us.... manager comes and says politely to her, since you didnt know, sure come and have a seat. I couldnt believe it. Cant help but think my skin color had some to do with it. The irony is that we all came here on MY suggestion. So rest assure last night was my last time and that i will make sure everyone i know knows not to go.

Delicious sangria, not too many vegan options but one that was there (the cauliflower pita) was great. bottles of hand sanitizer at every table. Great weekend lunch :)

Though the venue itself is beautifully decorated, the poorly made drinks and unnattentive service were very disappointing. Hopefully this can be improved as time goes on - would be a waste of a great location.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and it truly deserves five stars. The ambiance was chic and inviting, the staff were attentive and knowledgeable about their extensive cocktail menu, and the drinks themselves were expertly crafted, offering a delightful burst of flavors with each sip. The creative combinations showcased a dedication to mixology, making it a must-visit for any cocktail enthusiast. I can't wait to return and explore more of their enticing concoctions.

Wonderful experience at Back to Brooklyn! Service was phenomenal, very friendly and attentive. The food was 10/10 really enjoyed the beef tartare as an appetizer and the seafood pasta as a main! We stayed around for late night and the cocktails, live dj & atmosphere was amazing. Definitely will be returning!
