As a google local guide I have a duty to give my honest review about this store, the only reason why I gave 1 star is b/c in general canadian tire you can't afford to buy anything but their Auto service is way worse you'll get charged a lot that's a fact but shout out to their mechanic they are absolutely fantastic!!! So their auto service really need a radical price adjustment for sure if you go other auto service clearly you see a minimum of 250$ different on some expensive repair that's what I experienced even though everyone was telling me not to go to CNT b/c their price I went to their shop and that's what I got. Until the Canadian tire fix their service shop I'll go to all their shop and do my review and update my review!

I love this location. The store is always well stocked, and there hasn’t been a single time when I could not find what I was looking for. It is the place to go shopping for Christmas decorations, outdoor lights, and everything else Christmas related. The staff is normally very knowledgeable and helpful. Although I like the store, I’m less enthusiastic about their auto centre. Every time I took my car there for a routine oil change and checkup, they would convince me I needed “urgent” break servicing. I’m not a mechanic and I do not know whether the car actually needed that service. But since I started taking my car to a Honda service centre, their mechanics have always found my breaks in good shape.

Great. But there seems to be only a few staff around nowadays. Managed to find what I wanted, but it was an ordeal as the product branding had been redesigned, and the web picture wasn't the same. Staff were very helpful. How do you read this labeling if you are ability impaired? Especially considering it was much darker on the shelf.

Update on 29 Jan 2024 Special kudos to the amazing Julia in the auto service front desk, she went above and beyond to help us with our car with such a shining attitude and special customer service. I love this place, there I met with very nice staffs and kind people taking care of the business. I strongly recommend it to anyone who finds themselves in the neighborhood or nearby. My message to the people taking care of the business: Congratulations! you're doing an amazing job, please keep it up to attract customers and people, Canadian tire team you're amazing, I love your work! I went to the Carling Avenue store. Unknown to me, the sale on the generator I wanted had ended the day before... but the staff said, "Hang on, let me check' and a manager intervened and sold it to me for the sale price. That's just great business 👏. I didn't even ask if they could. They just did it. Fantastic!

Canadian Auto Shop is the worst I have ever seen my entire life. Early this year I have changed my breaks at the CT and received my car with a missing wheel lock; ask the manager to explain, he said that they could not find the key and had to cut off. I showed them it was located in the glove compartment as I told them when I handed over my van. After, in April, I bought summer tires with a warranty and ask the shop to mount them on the van and dismount my winter tire. Once I drove home, I could not find my winter tire lug nuts and the key to the summer wheel locks. Brought today to repair my summer tire as per warranty, the mechanics first wanted to force me to buy two new tires as he could not repair one had a problem and it is not safe to change only ONE tire. When I said that I have my tires on a warranty, he has magically found the new tires to replace, BUT when I picked up my van, they have changed only ONE (so no more safety concern????) and with a DIFFERENT brand. Would never use this shop anymore. I have filed a complained to the store, NO response at all! SO today, they have cut off all the wheels locks, that I did not ask to do. Quality Assurance at a level -0.

The worst experience with auto service! An alarm came out on the panel, so I send my car to the auto shop. They checked the car, but they didn't find real reason. When the issue was still there, I was charged about $500! It was for "checking and cleaning fee" ! The car had run only 20,000KM. They asked to send it back to have the whole motor replaced. They wanted me to pay more money and spend more time for another try! Did it make sense? Besides, the manager was unbelieveble rude. He's a franchisee so Canadian Tire customer service can not help anything. The shop has been stealing money from customers. Stay away from this shop!

The service I received was great! Except that when my vehicle was finished, I was told I was going to get called and 45 minutes later another employee asked if I needed assistance. So I told him what I was waiting for and he found my file and said it was done. No one had called me to notify me it was ready. So I waited an extra 45 minutes for nothing.

I had a flat tire and brought it in to be repaired. I was the first person in when the store opened at 9am. They gave me an ETA of noon. Which is more than enough time for a simple plug repair. I even called in around 1030 to check on the ETA of the repair. Was reassured it would be ready by noon. At noon, I came in only to see the wheel to be in the same spot as I dropped off in the morning…. Untouched and un-repaired. They finally started work on it at 1210. And the tire was ready at 1230 Front service desk staff were quick to get the job done as soon as they were made aware of the issue.

I would not recommend going to this store. The vehicle repair centre is extremely expensive, and they will take every chance to charge you for additional services. I was charged an additional $150 for an “analysis” that I already told them not to do. They did not waive this fee even after completing the work. I had asked them to complete work that I knew needed to be completed and they did not listen. $1,000 for two back brakes is scandalous. Furthermore, in store shopping and trying to return something here is very difficult. This is why people are shopping online. Customer service insisted on taking out the product that was missing many pieces and tried to assemble it. They stated nothing was missing and tried to sell it back to me. I then showed them that there was actually 3 missing pieces which rendered the product useless. This was likely why it was on the shelf with missing pieces from a previous return. I would highly recommend going to Barrhaven or any other store in Ottawa.

I had a great experience on Wednesday 1Nov. From the lady (sorry I can’t remember your name) at the return desk who found my receipt using my phone number to Mark the technician at the parts desk that came out and patiently helped me install my wipers in the evening cold. Thank you! I very much appreciate your customer service.

I went in to purchase a battery on Monday the 22 around 2:30 pm and I Was told to bring the old one back to get a $20 refund. Once I returned within an hour and went to the original counter where I had purchased the battery i was told by one of the female staff members to bring the battery to her at the service counter. I promptly placed the battery on the counter at which point she told me to pick the battery up and place it behind her counter inside the staff area. I told her why am I responsible for placing it in the designated area when it is behind the counter ? To which she responded she doesn’t want to dirty her hands or broke her nails . Seriously!!! Anyways after that I asked so are u gonna refund the $20 dollars she is like no you have to go the original counter where I had originally went to get the refund. Image the level of laziness of the staff had I been an older or a person with special needs it would have been extremely difficult to move the battery around and the job the staff is supposed to do . Not happy a the level of customer service you would expect from a Canadian brand. Definitely not recommended to purchase anything here.

I went to Canadian Tire for servicing of a vehicle; service was quicker then expected and employees were kind and professional. The downside is the store is closed and I had to spend a few hours walking around. That said, there is plenty of room to go for a walk, even a pathway that goes through the wetlands nearby. There is a queuing area for curbside pickup and the garden center is open. This does make for a congested parking lot.

Abuse of the elderly & disabled. Car window smashed by mechanic when service required was tire repair! Please steer clear of CT autorepair. My elderly mother and disabled brother took her car in for tire repair approximately 3 weeks ago. They dealt with an individual named Kevin. Left the car at the shop for 3-4 hours, upon returning, the tire repair was completed, however Kevin shattered the driver’s side window upon attempting to lower the window. Initially Kevin denied the entire incident to both my brother and mother, assuming neither could understand due to being disabled and elderly, resp. Due to my brother’s persistence, Kevin finally admitted to shattering the glass. He placed plastic over the driver’s side door, and ordered a new window and parts (as he destroyed the mechanism due to forcefully trying to lower the glass!). HOWEVER - despite admitting to destroying the window - upon ordering Kevin charged my mother $532!!! And refused to repair the window!!!!! CT is already a company upon bankruptcy. They cannot afford customer service that entails destruction of property, abuse of elderly & disabled customers, staff that hardfaced lies and charges for services that were not requested - after admitting to destruction of property due to their own incompetence. My family has been a customer of CT auto repair at Kanata Centrum since the 90’s. This destruction of my mothers car and abusive customer service is unwarranted, particularly in the context of the loyalty that my family has displayed for this company. I have called the store numerous times to speak to a manager - in order to remedy this situation. My mother has been driving her car in the Ottawa winter with nothing but plastic covering her window for approximately 3 weeks now, as the window and parts sit at the auto repair dept. The store customer service repeatedly tells me the manager is not available or on a break. Pathetic and unacceptable. Please avoid CT autorepair at all costs. If we could give 0 stars we would - after this terrorizing and traumatic experience.

Things have definitely changed and I believe it is for the worst. It seems like Canadian Tire in general is trying to sell everything under the sun instead of focusing on the items they are known for. While I was in the store, none of the isles were straight, they zigzaged all over the place so there were no clear routes like there used to be. Canadian Tire is a store where more men than women shop and most men want to go directly to get what they want and get out again. This no longer happens, even trying to get into the checkout line was a bit of a maze. This store needs to get back to the basics and hire knowledgeable staff and keep clean likes and forget the maze.

I came with my landlord to purchase a car battery for his car. Now I have zero knowledge when it comes to car battery or cars for that matters, and my landlord does not speak a word of English. So I was just there to help translate for him. I was assisted by Mark, and this was the best customer experience that I'd ever had. Mark took his time, making sure to explain what the specs are; laid you multiple options for me and my landlord to make sure we're making an informed decision. Now through all this time, I had to use google translate to translate what Mark was saying to my landlord; and Mark was extremely patient with us. If you see this Mark, thank you so much for your help.

Good as always, the indoor and outdoor space is regularly refreshed with a seasonal inventory. That can make it a little difficult to find things at times, but they usually put the seasonal stuff in the same areas every year. Typically most of what you need is in the front of the store rather than back, or should I say the most popular/used items.

One of the best Canadian tires in the city. The staff here are always asking if they can assist me in finding anything and they always help me find the right product I’m looking for. I accidentally did click and collect today instead of curbside pickup and I have my 1 month old with me. The curbside folks asked another associate to grab my products from a locker and bring them out to me so I wasn’t in a pickle. I find everyone here is so friendly and helpful, I genuinely enjoy coming to this store and find myself coming here rather than Home Depot or Rona for essential products for home.

Brought in a wheel to be warrantied and was given back a damaged rim with a clear gash from a tire machine. After going in and speaking with the supervisor he acknowledged the damage and stated “this sometimes happens back there” but that I would have to contact the manager as he could not help. After attempting to contact the manager for a week he denied any wrong doing and stated they would do nothing for the rim as they could not have done the damage. Do not recommend letting them touch your rims unless you bring in proof of their condition on drop off.

This store is where I usually do my shopping. Two weeks ago I bought an expensive vacuum cleaner for curb side pickup. The store shamefully passed me an open box missing parts and the user manual. Unfortunately I realised this fact late after using it and I think there is nothing I can do. I wish there was a good level of honesty not to pass a customer an open box to get it out of their inventory. SHAME.

DO NOT GO TO AUTO SERVICE HERE! I took my 2022 car to this location for a simple safety check for Uber and when I went to pickup my car they told me to bring it back the next day to make sure the wheels are tightened. Interestingly as soon as I drove off my break light was “mysteriously” not working even tho they said I passed the safety checks! I’ve never seen a break light go out in under a year, so Im assuming they replaced the light bulb with a broken one only to charge me when I go back to check the tires! I suspect this because the bulb didn’t seem to be an OEM when I went to fix it myself! Also this has happened to me before multiple times at Canadian tires where they forgot to close the engine cap or something and the engine light would come on! Please make sure to check everything when you pickup your car from the mechanic or just avoid going to random places and find someone you trust! Also, I lost my safety paper and they refuse to give me another copy even though they told me over the phone that it is possible for me to pick up a copy! The supervisor at the auto center is very rude and unprofessional and was yelling at my wife for no reason! They keep telling me to pay another $100 to receive the safety check certificate again. I will never set foot in this place and highly suggest you all to take your business elsewhere as well.

Great store, fairly well organized, responsive staff, full stock of items, and phenomenal customer service. Olivia C in returns went above and beyond to help us figure out the best way to return an item. The issue was not resolved because my spouse forgot his phone but she gave us next steps and was a an absolute delight. Thanks Olivia!

They had a big clearance sale on plants and trees, so I decided to see if I could pick up a couple of Japanese Maples for a decent price. The 2 gallon size were labeled as $84.99 regular price, marked down to $67.99. Sounds good until you see the original Canadian Tire tag on the tree that shows $64.99. In other words, they marked them up $20 so they could mark them down $17 for the sale. When I asked them, they told me the tags were old and should have been removed, and that the price went up due to inflation. That's 31% inflation on a perishable item!!!! They didn't even offer a discount to cover their own 'mistake'. This is an outright scam and they should be cited for it. I will not be returning to this store ever again.

After a rough morning (blown tire), we got to Canadian tire looking for some new tires and installation services and Daniel was amazing. Did everything to walk my girlfriend through the process. He made sure to explain the process clearly and recommend the right tires for her situation. Really showed he knew what he was talking about. Great experience.

Had a great pleasure of encountering Mark in the automotive department. He was polite, kind, knowledgeable, and took the time to help me find the right type of oil and filter for my car. He made my shopping experience so much easier, as someone who knows nothing about those things. I live downtown, but will return to this location!

Ordered a climber for my toddler for Christmas online. Got a call saying it was ready for pickup and they'd even assembled it for us! When we arrived for curbside pickup, the climber was dirty, full of cobwebs, and the slide had black marks on it. I get selling floor models. I even get not having it clear on the website that it's a floor model...but calling and not disclosing that? Or cleaning it up just a little? This thing was expensive and I am not blind! This Canadian Tire has always been ehhh on Customer Service. Just another example of this. We returned it right away.

Everything is available and if not, you can just press the help button and someone will come with a smile and enthusiasm within 5 minutes (busy or quite day). Always go with my two kids (2 and 5 years old) and everyone is welcoming them and making me feel comfortable even when they are cranky at the cash.

avoid buying christmas lights here (NOMA brand) .They start burning out within a week. I bought around 500 lights and after 2 weeks 50% of them stopped working. A "Karen" working at their customer service told me its final sale bring them next year for an exchange but when you sell me a defective product you should refund it not exchange it for another defective product.

I had a very helpful sales person get an item I wanted from the warehouse. The cashier was very nice too however there was a price issue on the item. Turns out they signed it wrong. Of course they honored the price they signed it at but it took about 15min of me standing at the cash waiting. I could of ran to where the item was and back 5 times by the time they confirmed the price. Nobody like being delayed at cash and being the one delaying everyone else is no fun.
