The food was very fishy and just not good. It was very disappointing.

I'm from out of town, and this beat all of our restaurants back home. The lo mein qnd pork dumplings were delicious! Prices were comparable and quality was great!

I really like that China chef is so close to where i live. Their menu is like most Chinese places. Lunch specials, dinner, categorized by protein, limited drink offerings. You can dine in if their one table is available. It usually is. The people are very friendly.

Was delighted to see this space that was formerly my dearest Wok n Roll converted back into a chinese establishment. I finally visited today and I'm pleasantly surprised by the expanded menu options. If you like chow fun noodles you should try them here. Also, their shrimp egg rolls appeared to be freshly crafted, they were perfect and not overly greasy. Highly recommend!

Came across this place while looking for good Chinese food in KC and it seemed perfect for the exact kind of take-out we wanted. Ordering online was super simple but a recent storm seemed to have knocked out the restaurant's internet and we accidentally set it for the next day. The owner called us soon after because of the internet problem, confirming the order and asking us if we actually wanted it today, saying they could get it ready for the same time. The food was more than worth, we ordered four dishes to share, Sesame Chicken, Sweet and Sour chicken, Beef and Broccoli, and Chicken Lo Mein, all of which were made very fresh and absolutely delicious, definitely a stand out spot worthy of your time and money with excellent food made even better by the excellent and thoughtful service.

Jalapeno chicken was good. Shrimp fried rice was ok. Hot and sour soup, egg drop, and egg rolls we're not good.

The food is pretty good, but I order some wonton soup and found two small bugs in it. I immediately threw it away along with the rest of my food I had leftover.

This place was amazing the food wasn't greasy at all and was very clean. The staff was amazing and super friendly! The food came out fast and fresh. The dining area is small but enough. I imagine it would be a great take out place to bad I live in Arizona.

China chef is a wonderful family run business with AMAZING FOOD!! My family has been there at least a dozen times and we are never disappointed. My favorite dish that I’ve had so far is Shrimp & Chicken Hunan style!! Soooo good. Bo’ Lings used to be my favorite, but that’s only because I didn’t know about China chef. I highly suggest trying if you haven’t!! 💚

I tend to enjoy American Chinese food. It can have a wide variety of flavors. I also love the fact that it can be somewhat healthy, as long as the dish has veggies. I am very particular about this type of cuisine, and there are a few favorites I will judge a place by. If those go well, then I’m more likely to try more of the offerings. First, the Hot and Sour soup must be good. Theirs is excellent! Perfectly balanced, packed with delicate egg, bamboo strips, mushrooms, and tofu, in a velvety and not too thick broth. Their egg rolls were a pleasant surprise! The wrap isn’t too thick. It isn’t a fried spring roll, but the wrapper isn’t as thick as I’m used to. It has a pleasant flavor, perfectly crisp texture, and it’s full of wonderfully seasoned meat and cabbage. I love when a place’s house made hot mustard makes me cry. Theirs had me with tears of joy streaming down my cheeks! I hadn’t seen chicken noodle soup on a Chinese menu before, so thought I’d give that a shot. It was a colder day, and WOW! This delicate and lightly flavored chicken broth was packed with wonderfully firm egg noodles and strips of chicken breast. After all these pleasant experiences I wanted to try something a little different. They have roasted duck available sometimes. It is not on their online menu but if you call, sometimes it’s available. I got a 1/2 roasted duck. It is served with steamed white rice a cup of duck jus. It isn’t served hot. It is cut but it will have bones. I have had a lot of duck, both Chinese and American versions. Not having it piping hot isn’t a deal breaker for me. It can be easily warmed up in the oven. This duck was some of the most flavorful I’ve ever had! It is truly spectacular! While it isn’t a first date food, you’ll be licking your fingers a fair amount, it is a dish I can’t recommend enough! All of the other dishes I’ve tried so far have been excellent and look forward to continuing my deep dive into their menu. Thrilled to have this place in our neighborhood!

Worth your buck! Food is cooked and not microwaved, enjoyed driving 20mins home and the food still being WARM 😋👍 Don’t forget to get some Soy Sauce or Hot Sauce like me :( Lo Mein was delicious, as well were the vegetables. The food did have a heavy scent, but don’t be discouraged the food is very good. DO NOT underestimate the plates, they look small, but I got full within a few bites of each meal, Yay leftovers haha wish yall continuous business 📈

Was so excited to love this place. It was easy to order, fella at the pick up counter was very nice. Food not so much. General’s Chicken was very dry and over cooked, fried rice was simply steamed rice with soy sauce to add color-no vegetables, no egg, nothing. Mooshoo pork was OK. Sorry, but won’t be back

First time ordering here. Everything was fresh. Crab ragoon was so good. We definitely will be returning customers. The only improvement would be for the fried rice. I look for onions, and egg in it.

I have been a returning customer several times now and the food is always on point. The quality and quantity is consistent and the kitchen looks clean. Staff is very nice and friendly. The krabragoons are a must have! They are always fresh. The combo rice is one of the best I’ve had. Honestly, the best Chinese food I’ve had in a while!!

You get a good amount of food for the price. I ordered the Szechuan shrimp and it was perfectly cooked and quickly made as well. The shrimp were succulent, the veggies blanched perfectly. 10/10 would order again ♡

The people are very nice and professional. My spouse and I have been searching for a Chinese lunch special place and it gives us everything we want.

Fantastic experience, and would absolutely recommend this place 100%. I made an order for carry out and got veggie eggrolls, shrimp lo mein, and sesame chicken with white rice. I placed my order online, and was told it would be ready within 10 to 15 minutes. When I arrived to pick up my order 15 minutes later, it was ready to go. When I got home, I realized I had been given an extra little baggie with a crab Rangoon, and an extra eggroll. So I started my meal with that. Then I made a plate of the lo mein and the sesame chicken and rice. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. Would 10/10 recommend this lil place to anyone.

Ok, here’s the most honest review ever! I am a 57 year old fat Italian who has traveled the world. I have eaten Chinese food in many countries and states. I judge the Chinese restaurant by two things. 1. Broth. 2. Fried pork rice. So, this place has the best hot and sour soup broth I have ever had. I can only imagine how good it would be with shrimp and meat added. The fried rice must have red pork in it, but the rice must have flavor as well. Spot on!

Amazing, consistently good & fresh meals that remain generously HUGELY portioned. The Pork Mu Shu is the best in the city hands down. It’s a takeout food joint, so there is no atmosphere however, it is spotless. I also like the way they treat the public.

Hands down my all-time favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. The food is delicious, the location is great, and the service is superb. A family-owned restaurant that goes beyond just serving your favorite Chinese meals, and makes you feel like one of their own. If it's your first time here and you encounter a long line, steady ringing phones, or a longer than anticipated wait time--just know it'll all be worth it once that food is in your hands. I am a creature of habit, so my go-to dish is their Jalapeno Chicken, but I can confirm that there's simply no way to go wrong with anything on their menu.

Holy smokes, ordered general chicken super spicy. They did not disappoint! Was super spicy but also delicious. Steamed dumplings were also good. This is my new go to spot.

This place is absolutely delicious. Very quick service and very good food. The price is right on point for a whole meal for two with leftovers and itll cost ya under 40 bucks. The front staff is very nice and quick and the cooks know their trade. Two thumbs way up for china chef!!

Delicious!! I ordered the General Tso's Chicken and the plain lo mein, and both were great! Even without veggies or meat in the lo mein it was full of flavor. The prices are also quite reasonable, you get the most bang for your buck from the combos. 10/10 will visit again!

Randomly stumbled on it on DoorDash. Best Chinese food I have tried! The flavors are so authentic. Beats all the Chinese buffets in Kc.

I'm a Bay Area native and love Chinese food. I was looking for 'my place' and did a survey of wonton soup at 5-6 spots within 10 minutes of me: China Chef's was the best. It's an un-assuming storefront but the food is great!

My Girlfriend and I just ate here for the first time, we both agree that it was delicious! Came out very hot and fresh! Flavor was 👌on point👌 and the lunch special (11am-3pm) was a steal of a deal! We will definitely be returning.

I love the steamed dumplings. My husband has to be in the mood for Chinese food. We ordered take out for there twice last week. Delicious!!!!! I love this place!

Really pretty good. Can get a little salty. Like that the lunch specials come with soup. Not much for seating, but a lot of food for a good price. It will be put on our rotation for takeout.
