It was our first time driving along this particular winding mountain pass and most without warning we turned a sharp corner and the Coachella Valley Vista Point was upon us. Quickly veered to the right and off the highway to get out of the car and take a look. The Views of the Coachella Valley are nothing short of amazing. The mountains, the winding highway ahead, the Coachella Valley, and all the homes and colors, just mezmerizing! Do yourself a favor and stop for a moment along the way. Easy off and on the highway and loads of free parking. If you find my review helpful please give me a thumbs-up 👍Thank you!

Climbed my road bike up the beautiful switchbacks and was rewarded with a fantastic view from the top. The shoulders aren’t that wide, so some of the less considerate cars may get a bit close. Keep that in mind as you venture out!

As many times as one goes to Idyllwild, a stop here is always on the agenda. The view is always changing according to the configuration of the clouds in the brilliant blue sky. The road below is a twisting ribbon taking one to cool temperatures and delightful people of Idyllwild.

Cool spot to see an overview. If you’re a solo conversion camper there are no facilities but a small parking lot. Motorcycle or sport car- cool switchbacks and curves going down into indio. Be careful there are wrecks up there that were never recovered. Dont get over confident on that road and believe the 30mph signs

Absolutely breathtaking mountain and valley views. The drive up the mountain is half the fun of going here.

The view is great! Just wish people respected the area. Lots a beer containers on the grounds outside the visiting area and thrown all over the dirt. Pretty sad actually.

Amazing views!! Was very disappointed in how unkept this amazing place is. The trash cans were overflowing. So much trash in the parking lot and over the wall. It’s a shame when you look out at which should be an amazing view that you see so much trash laying in front of you. People trying to relax and enjoy the view but unfortunately people are drinking and playing loud music with no respect for anyone else there. Wish there was more effort with keeping this place clean and monitoring it for individuals that should not be there drinking and then obviously driving.

If you're looking for a panoramic view of the Coachella Valley, this is the perfect spot. The views are amazing, whether it's sunrise or sunset. It's a must-see place.

From Palm Desert it is a beautiful ride up the winding 2 lane road to a pull off to an awesome view of the city below! If in the Palm Desert area, definitely take this short trip up the scenic mountain to the Coachella Valley Vista! There is parking to get out take pics and enjoy the overlook!

Wow! The view of the valley is remarkable- feels like you’re on top of the world. Can get busy but I’ve always managed to find parking because people only stick around for a few minutes. On my last visit, I noticed quite a bit of trash, please people, pick up after yourselves.

When you grow up here you remember the Hang gliders taking off from Here! Classic . Must Stop for photos and to pick up the trash left there. Keep it clean please

Sunrise or sunset, if your close enough, get there for outstanding photos and your highlight of that day.

This scenic viewpoint can be a worthwhile stop. But both entry/exit points are located on the eastbound (downhill) side of a tight curve with very limited sight distance, so be prepared to move quickly in and out of traffic.

Check this! Memories are what you no longer want to remember! I will always remember the good times!

Beautiful views. However, the entry and exit look like death traps, however. There is no warning about possible cross traffic or Pedestrians.

The views are beyond amazing. We are having such an amazing time. I was a bit scared because I don't do heights. Just be careful driving. Take your time. Tons of sharp turns.

This is a great scenic overlook. Definitely stop if you're going over the mountain.

A nice place on earth. Not for everyone ! The road is very dangerous, and some commute on this path regularly, and some of these drivers have attitudes. These pictures shared are cellphone pictures, and a real camera would show the great range of depth.

This Vista point gives a great view of the whole Coachella Valley, specifically Palm Desert and Indian Wells. You basically get a 180° view of the whole valley and it is an excellent spot to take photos. A small parking lot is available. It is off of a two-lane highway that hugs the mountainside. I suggest being very careful when entering or exiting the point, signaling your turn effectively, slowing down safely before exiting and using precaution when entering or exiting. Especially if you are visiting after dark. The cars on the highway can go pretty fast and it is sometimes difficult to see when they are coming from around the corner. Very worth the stop though!

Although the vista is wide and impressive here, it might be better to visit other more convenient spots with other places to visit nearby for views of the valley.

The walk up to this place was great. Too many cars honking though on the way up. Was able to complete my craigslist purchase up there though and got this awesome picture with my new car. I had it towed back home and walked because I couldn’t resist the exercise but again folks were rude and honking.

Vantage points are pretty good, but not high enough to see the entire valley. Careful driving the road ... lots of switch-backs and fast drivers.

Nice view after 7 minutes more drive from the hike I wanted to go

The scenery is spectacular. The roads are twisty with elevation. It's just amazing to ride thru the mountains and greenery. The view from the vista point allows one to see the twists and turns of the road ahead. It's a refreshing break. The monument has a very nice message we all need to heed.
