What a wonderful place for a special dinner. Birthday dinner at my mom's favorite restaurant. We shared several dishes and they were all outstanding! The Diver Scallops were outstanding, with peas and bacon. The Duck Confit was special. We enjoyed the Braised Short Ribs. Absolutely outstanding!

The ambiance was off the chain. We came a little early so had a cocktail at the bar. Susan was our tender, she was awesome. The snack and drinks menu was amazing. Then we were seated. We chose the patio and even though it was summer in AZ it was spacious, shaded and wonderful!! Our waiter Walter was spot on in his recommendation and food was delicious and prompt. I can't wait to come back. Wonderful wonderful place

If I could rate this at 7 stars, I would! Possibly the best dining experience in town. Opt for the spectacular outdoor patio seating, surrounded by trees, if the weather allows. Stunning, creative dishes that are perfect. Outstanding staff that will make this a meal to remember. Make this a spot for your next special occasion, or a place to impress your out of town visitors, it's amazing.

I'd give the setting 5 stars. Beautiful patio with shade in a old style southwest courtyard. The service was also excellent. The food we had for lunch would get 3 stars. My husband had the shrimp and crab louie salad but it was served on a plate that was not chilled and the lettuce was limp. For $21 we expected more. I had the grilled steak tacos and they were good but not memorable.

Perfectly cooked New York strip, atop beats, potatoes and asparagus. Delightful dinner paired with a half bottle of a 2018 cab recommended by the wine specialist. The environment is set in an appealing Spanish layout sure to make you feel at home in Arizona. If you're in the Scottsdale or Paradise Valley region of Phoenix I would highly recommend this place.

Food always to notch. Shrimp Tacos with a glass of Roederer Estate Sparkling wine this time; an amazing combo! The Huevos Rancheros on the am are one of my favorites. Cappuccino is always excellent. Nice wine program. And of course the patio is the most beautiful anywhere!

This restaurant is like a gem in the desert! The portions are big enough to make you full. I ordered pork chops and I have to say it was the most delicious. It came with polenta and some smoked broccoli , as well as a glaze on top of the meat. The server was nice , but still I had a better service at Phoenician or other resorts. Initially we wanted to sit at the restaurant tables but we were told they were all reserved, even though you could barely see anyone there the entire time. We sat at the bar on the patio , not a big difference compared with the restaurant patio except the tables were tall. Definitely give it a try if you are by Paradise Valley!

There are a few restaurants in Phoenix that meet an international standard of excellence. This is one of them. The presentation, the service, the taste and the ambience are top of the line. You cannot help but feel the romance in this place. A perfect spot for a lovers brunch. We got the short rib and the huevo rancheros. Both were excellent. The short rib potatoes were so delicious, I couldn't believe potatoes could be so addictive.

Amazing place at amazing location. Cool vibes, a good get away to spend the evening. Being an Old Soul, I really liked the architecture and the food was delicious with good collection of drinks. Patio looks beautiful with peaceful surroundings. I also liked the drive nearby area. If you like peaceful, calm, and silent environment to spend time, this place is for you for sure. On price point it’s a bit on upwards but experience was good. Definitely recommend.

Whenever the urge to ‘brunch up without fancying up,’ hits, I head over to a seedy little dive called Hermosa Inn/LON’s, that’s smack dab in the middle of a patchy clunk of mesquite and dust called Paradise Valley. When you’re slumming here, it’s best to leave those elitist Beemer or Bentley behaviors behind. I also recommend rolling up in something high mileage/late model if you’re door ding or high probability car theft averse. Me? I always employ my rough and tumble Toyota FJ when I roll around this part of town. Okay, you caught me! I’ve been slightly disingenuous with you up till now. Sorry about that. THE TRUTH: They say that perfection once blew into PV, stayed at the Hermosa, ate at LON’s, and left feeling inadequate in comparison. Since then, it’s vowed to use the resort/restaurant as a guide for how it can do better. This place is lovely and charming and unique and romantic and totally reminds me of being in Santa Fe. Over many visits throughout the years, I’ve never had a bad meal or a bad experience here. I recently invited my sweetheart to LON’s for her birthday brunch and they took great care of us— and she loved it. When the weather is favorable, you can enjoy a nice drink and meal under the expansive canopy of a 100-year-old Mesquite tree. When the weather is on the chilly side; you know, those random 2 days of fall/winter we get around here, you can warm your bones at one of the cozy fireplaces near the bar. So, when the urge to ‘brunch up without fancying up,’ hits, roll on over to the Hermosa Inn/LON’s. It’s the ultimate way to get your slum on!

Such a quaint little hidden gem. Old Southwestern feel, like your in someones house for dinner. The food was absolutely delicious. There was nothing that we had that I didn't like except for a couple cocktails that were not the best but they were nice and changed them out for me.

A true gem in the Valley. Lon's has a very unique and welcoming ambience from the beginning. Only a few steps from the valet through the picturesque courtyard, we could feel the elegance and history of the building. We sat inside where it was very quiet on a Sunday and relaxing yet offered a peaceful sense of warmth and hospitality. Our server, Cantenn, was as helpful and personable as any host can be. He provided ample suggestions to suit even the vegetarian needs of certain members of our party including the flexibility to create our own combination of items we may find appetizing into a personalized entree. The main courses were very well prepared and highly delectable. To top off dinner, the sticky toffee pudding was very rich, moist, and the perfect end to a memorable evening. Be sure to ask for Cantenn if possible, as your party will not be disappointed and we cannot thank him enough for all his efforts to serve us (and for patiently taking quality pictures of us at our request), along with the entire Lon's staff for a scintillating evening and flavorsome appetizers and dinner entrees. We will certainly be back often and highly recommended to all those that wish to enjoy some of the most tranquil and personable fine dining the greater Phoenix area has to offer.

The service at Lon's restaurant was top notch. The food was delicious. I especially enjoyed the Braised Short Ribs -- best I've ever had. The chef even accommodated our need to be gluten-free. All in all, a wonderful dining experience.

We visited Lon’s for dinner to celebrate a birthday with a group of three. We started with the happy hour prior to our reservation, our server Liz was fantastic! When we got to our table everything went down hill. We arrived to find our table covered with leaves and seeds, trust me I realize we are dining outside, but we spent 10mins cleaning off our table and chairs while our waiter and hostess watched us. Our server Casey made several distasteful comments throughout our dinner, had several puns about the appetizer we brought to our table from happy hour and really gave us an overall poor experience. We ordered the sea bass, NY strip and spaghetti squash. The sea bass was 3oz in size and tasted fishy, the steak was bland and had no seasoning. While the views are beautiful, I recommend you avoid Lon’s for dinner.

Wow! The most beautiful patio in Phoenix. This is a historic place and just beautiful! Perfect weather to sit outside. They had real Wood mesquite fireplaces burning, live music. Just amazing atmosphere. We went two Saturdays ago. We got the chicken and seafood trio. Very juicy chicken, and scallops were perfect! The cocktails are very good. Ordered their old fashioned 🥃 so good! Our waiter Vincent was very nice and professional. Definitely going back for a special occasion. The SONORAN PASTA CO. GNOCCHETTI SARDI appetizer . Very good a tiny bit spicy. Loved this place. Very small and cozy feeling and not loud with tons of people. FYI complimentary valet required.

An amazing romatic dinner with vintage style lanterns for centerpieces. We enjoyed patio seating, which is well spaced out for all guests, under the most character filled tree, and a beautiful iron fountain. I can't say enough about the atmosphere and yes, the food and service get 5 stars too!

I ordered fish, I would think from a restaurant of this caliber it would've been really good. It wasn't, it had no flavor. My boyfriend ordered duck and loved it. If you do visit probably plan on ordering steak, seems it is their specialty. Excellent atmosphere and service but I wouldn't go back as there are so many other restaurants in the area that I feel are better.

Great atmosphere. Beautiful patio. Staff were very delightful and knowledgeable. The food was good. One dish was a bit too salty. Has a nice romantic and quaint feel to it. There are some really old mesquite trees which adds to the atmosphere of the place.

This place has a great atmosphere and the service was pretty good (even though we were sat a half hour after our reservation) but the food was simply not on par for these prices. The sommelier was great and so was our waitress, I would like to stress that. Our entrees came out cold which sucks but I understand that stuff happens and they were quick to fix the problem and comped a dessert. Even when they warmed the steaks however they were simply just not that great and at $50+ for a steak I just expected more flavor. The appetizers were just okay as well. The restaurant is so beautiful and I wish I enjoyed the dinner more. Maybe I will give them another shot for brunch.

5 star venue and service! Such a beautiful ambiance on the outdoor patio! Fireplaces and space heaters were a perfect touch on a cold night. Food was prepared perfect but not much flavor which is common at fancy restaurants. Dont be afraid to season the food chef! Lol Overall still a great place for any special occasion. Best dish was the brussel sprouts. We also got the house salad, mac n cheese, filet mignon and chicken. Photos attached. We will definitely be back to try other dishes. Thanks for a wonderful evening Lon's! ❤

Lon's is a great experience and our waitress was great. We had a few minor challenges with our Christmas breakfast. Our eggs Benedicts were room temp. The poached eggs were perfect. However, the Canadian bacon and English muffin were on the verge of cold. I asked if they could warm up my second Benedict. And instead, they remade the dish... more time and eggs were overcooked thus time.

I was really looking forward to checking out Lon's but overall left disappointed, at least for the value. Outside was beautiful with great ambience. We elected to eat inside however and, while the atmosphere was great old southwest, there was a wedding reception in the very next room. Attendees continually cut through the dining room and past our table to use the restroom. Additionally the door would become ajar and the dj music would spill out onto our table. The food itself was very good. I enjoyed the petite filet and the horseradish mashed potatoes were excellent. The wine list was excellent and the sommelier was helpful. Overall the staff seemed overworked and distracted. I was expecting more. Decent experience and I will probably just go for apps and drinks on the patio next time.

Our brunch on the patio at LON's was perfection! A fellow Realtor who lives locally invited us there. The setting is beautiful, the service is great and the food (frittata with roasted potatoes) was delicious! We'll definitely return on our next visit to the Phoenix area.

Stepping through the doors of Lon’s, it’s easy to see why this space spoke to Alfonso Megargee, the cowboy and artist who built his home here in the 1930s. Everything about this restaurant draws you in. The music is thoughtfully curated, the chairs are comfortable and elegant, and the lighting is warm and inviting. I started off with the Ahi tuna, which was truthfully the best tuna I have ever had in my life! It is seared tableside over a charcoal grill, and the flavor is out of this world when drizzled with the accompanying chimichurri. We ordered a second round! My main course was the chicken, which was delicious, but the standout was the gnocchi that was paired with it. Finally, we enjoyed a churro tree with what can only be described as cloud-like churros with three different sauces (caramel, chocolate, and berry). The wine list and sommelier are impressive, as is the service. I would highly recommend this to anyone in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. I cannot wait to visit again in the future. Exceptional.

This place is amazing. Our waitress Liz was extremely attentive even though she was busy with many tables. Everything we ordered was fantastic and flavorful. We even got a tour from a woman, possibly a new manager, I hate I forgot her name. She walked us around the new area for weddings and gave us a history of the property. She went above and beyond! Will definitely be back! Thanks for making my birthday meaningful.

Went here for a paint and sip event and stayed for brunch on the Patio at Lon's. Beautiful setting, good service, food was good, but I'm not going to lie, it was forgettable. I have to stop believing peoples reviews of places. That or start cooking for the entire vicinity so they understand what good food really is! Y'all are food sheltered or something....

We went out to dinner for our anniversary at LON's for the first time, and we are so impressed. The food was delicious and the portions were just right. We had the diver scallops and the Catch of the day (Sable). Service was friendly and attentive. The ambiance is relaxing and has a lot of character. Dessert was wonderful - we tried the key lime bombe and enjoyed that. We would definitely come back to try other dishes!

We came about an hour or two before dinner service started and had the best time eating appetizers and drinking cocktails side-by-side in the oversized rocking chairs. The ambiance is unmatched and the property is beautiful. This is one of my favorite fall patios to hang out at in Phoenix.
